Week 17 Discussion (Other NFL Teams)

436 posts in this topic

2015, don't you dare be sour! Clap for the new year, It's a New Year, yes it is! Happy New Year everyone, and for teams and coaches they are hoping to start off 2016 on the right foot. Last chance to earn a playoff spot, last chance to change your seeding and for coaches last chance to show they belong in 2016.

Home Field Advantage or Disadvantage?

Patriots @ Dolphins: The Miami Dolphins have a chance to spoil the Patriots chances at the number one seed. A loss would open the door to Denver but a win means the road to Super Bowl 50 goes through New England.

Chargers @ Broncos: Do the Chargers play inspired football or do they just quit on Mike McCoy 24 hours before he is likely fired? If the Chargers decide to play they could spoil the Broncos chances at a Bye and the AFC West?

Seahawks @ Cardinals: The Panthers only loss of 2015 opened the door for the Cardinals to steal the number one seed from under them this weekend. A Seahawks win along with a Vikings loss gives Seattle the fifth seed. The Cardinals need a win and Panthers loss to secure the number one seed.

Bucs @ Panthers: The Panthers should be playing inspired football after suffering their only loss of 2015. The Bucs meanwhile look to give the Cardinals a chance at the number one seed.

Divisional Meaning:

Vikings @ Packers: Finally a Week 17 SNF Flex that doesn't involve the hapless NFC East. The Vikings can knock off the Packers in Green Bay to put a cap on a great 2015 season and win the NFC North for the first time since 2009.

Jaguars @ Texans: The Texans can win the AFC South at home but even if the Jaguars win, the Colts meanwhile need way too much to happen in order to win the AFC South.

Raiders @ Chiefs: Charles Woodson plays his final game in the place he started his first game, in Kansas City. If everything goes their way, and the Broncos lose to the Chargers, the Chiefs can not only win their 10th straight but win the AFC West.

2016 Draft Implications:

Titans @ Colts: The Colts may not win their division and will have a new coaching staff for 2016 but can ensure the number one pick for the Tennessee. Titans have a comfortable lead over Cleveland in SOS and are locked into a top 2 pick regardless of what happens. A win drops them to second and would give Cleveland the first overall pick but a loss secures the number one pick.

Steelers @ Browns: This is where the Browns might be in trouble. If they decide to pull the upset, the Chargers would have a SOS tiebreaker over the Browns giving them the number two pick and dropping Cleveland to 3.

Redskins @ Cowboys: It's simple, a win by the Redskins secures a top 5 pick for the Cowboys. If they win, they could drop as low as 8 pending other outcomes.

Also a Jets win over the Bills keeps the Steelers out of the play-offs. J-E-T-S. :D

The Steelers are in a position where we were at after week 16 when we lost on the road to an AFC opponent. We needed the Chiefs help to get in. I hope the Bills don't become the Chiefs from last season. While we're all Jets fans, I will also be part of the #dawgpound (if that's what they call it).

Problem is the Bills beat the Jets earlier so you know Rex will have the team ready to end the Jets playoff hopes by sweeping them. I just hope Rex lays down and doesn't try to prove something by winning(yes I just quoted Snoop Dog after we beat the Steelers last week lol).

This is why I'm also a temporary member of the Dawg Pound (pun kinda intended).

It was a close game, and since then the Jets have been playing a lot better, and the Bills defense has continually gotten worse. I think Rex blows his chance at revenge as once again a team under him falls apart.

Souff efriken as they pronounce it :) Hoping for jets, pats, chargers, chiefs and rams wins today. Also the vikings to get the number 5 seed would be nice so they can eliminate washington in the wild card.

What I want to see:

AFC

Ravens over Bengals ... Do I really need to say this? Given many want us to lose for draft picks, I guess I have to.

Jets over Bills/Steelers over Browns  ... I want our victory over the Steelers to be their demise.

Chargers over Broncos/Raiders over Chiefs ... so our win will have clearly ruined the Bengals 1st round bye

NFC

Panthers over Bucs ... Carolina resident - 14-1 and still the #1 seed isn't locked up? Crazy.

Vikings over Packers... Former long-time MN resident - want them knock off their bitter rivals in Lambeau

No Rex, what are you doing!!!! Stop trying to win the game and not score points. Bills I demand you stop trying to win right now.

Titans are up 14-10 over the Colts with the Browns losing at the moment. If things stand this would give the Browns the number one pick.

Fitzmagic 2/7 for 5 yards.

That's not magic, that's giving away a playoff spot after getting help the week prior.

Ben is so sloppy. He's had a pick, and should've had two more (including one just now).

You mean there's hope?

You mean there's hope?

Slight. Cleveland has some really good field position right now, only down 3-7.
