[News] Will Ravens Relish Spoiler Role Again?

17 posts in this topic

I'm kinda torn here between a better draft position and getting back in the groove of killing the beagles..........Just no more injuries to our team but i reserve the right to wish that we would crush(out for the year)any beagle player......and lets see how Ryan does this weekend huh?....20 mil is an awful lot to pay to keep any player......

I'm not torn...its a no-brainer.  Next year will take care of itself...we're dealing with the here and now! And i say, "take as many down with us as we can!"   We need the Jets to win Sunday to send the Squeelas packing for the off-season, and we need to beat Cinci to keep them from getting a bye!  They gonna be "one-and-done" anyway.  It's the least we can do for them since they've beaten us the last 4 or 5 times, right??  We need to put them fools on notice (for next year)!!  lol

We play to win, and having watched a lot of these bowl games, trust me when i tell you, a heck of a player will be available for us when we pick....Seeing lots of solid players, who are sticking out in these Bowl games....

Who ever thought that the prospect of the Baltimore Ravens beating the Cincinnati Bungles would ever be deemed playing a 'spoiler'? Alas, what has happened to the Ravens mystique? I am just saddened that the Bungles are even considered competition for us. I refuse to believe we'll ever lose to the Bungles again for the next 5 yrs! Not to the Bungles ever. That is a demeaning proposition.

I can remember a year in the not to distant past when the Bengals managed to make us sweat to even get in the wild card spot after they beat us in the final game of the season. This year we should return the favor and knock them out of a bye. Go get them Ravens!!

With this being a home game, Dalton out, McCarron less than 100% and former Raven Wenning at 3rd string it would seem that the Ravens have a better chance than the 10 point underdogs Vegas slapped on them. Ravens Trap Game v2.0 is booted and ready to go.

I'm not sure how many places a win this week drops us down in the draft but I think diisional wins are more important to this lost season. It would be nice to show the league that the Ravens are no joke, even if they're cobbling together a bunch of back ups and replacements this year.

Mathematically, the Ravens can't pick higher than 5th or lower than 13th. Realistically, the Ravens will land somewhere between picks 6-10. We can go LT, WR, CB, FS, RB, or Pass rusher.

Oh I trust you and agree that these young guns coming out this year are studs. By the time we pick, the best player on our board for one of those positions will still be there. Heck maybe even two or three. Just pleeeeeeeeeeeease don't trade down Ozzie unless we are double dipping in the first. I swear if we trade down to gather more picks I'm gonna go on a rampage and you won't hear the end of my venting until we make the playoffs again lol.

When it comes to beating the bengals, I'd love to win one more and spoil the bengals season but I already said last week that all I want is a win against the steelers and that's what I got so I won't ask for more. I won't lose any sleep over a loss but if we win....... Imma brag all summer about the best 6-10 team in history. And when this 6-10 team wins the super bowl next year imma rub it in everyone I knows faces yelling "I told you so!"

As a fellow Raven "Maniac", I think I can understand what you're saying. But, realistically, the Bengals truly Have been improving greatly the last several years, so "our" attitude you're expressing isn't really accurate anymore. The Bengals really Have become one of the strongest teams in the league. The only reason I think we actually have a decent chance to knock them off is the fact that Dalton's out and their backup isn't 100% by any stretch of the imagination. And that would leave them with Wenning, and despite all the talk on here not too long ago that seemed to be ready to crown him as the next coming of John Unitas, if the Bengals had to go with Wenning, I think it would help our cause greatly.

My mouth is watering too. You know you've had a bad season when you become almost just as interested in what happens in the off-season as you are in what happens in your last game of the current season. I don't know about anybody else, but I'm Really anxious to see what moves are made this off-season. As usual, I fear our cap situation will play much more of a role than I would like, but what else is new? I just hope that Ozzie has not lost his touch for pulling off a miracle or two. We need the Ozzie of old, the Ozzie in his prime, the Wizard of Oz this time, I think, more than ever.

Sorry, but I have to disagree vehemently with this post. I NEVER want to find myself wishing Any player will get hurt. I want to win as much as anybody, but not so badly that I would wish injury on anyone. I realize that we have more players (I think) on IR than any other team in the league, but that still doesn't make me want other players to suffer the same fate. I just can't bring myself to feel that way, and I hope that I never do.
