[News] Who's Playing, Who's Not at Bengals

I'm sorry Ravensfansince03, but Andy Dalton reminds me of a glorified back up QB despite him winning a lot of regular season games. I suppose I'm spoiled with having Flacco and Ben in our division.

I really don't like Andy Dalton. I think that the Bengals might become our new most hated rivalry.

I'm not a Dalton fan either and the Bengals have done well recently but they have a decent amount of FA's coming up next year and I except them to get weaker as the Ravens and Steelers get better next year (time will tell)

Thing is - the Bengals have a better chance of winning a game in the postseason with McCarron than with Dalton. But who cares? Let's have another good Ravens game to close off this disgraced season.

I think that the Bengals have become that thorn in the Ravens side. I think that in the 2016 off season the Ravens should take an extra good look at beating them and the Steelers, then the division is ours. Amazing that there is almost no one on the injured list......good omens of things to come? :) GO RAVENS!

The Defense I saw against the squeelers needs be used till the end of time! Rush four no more than five is the future and the "FIVE" gotta get big time pressure on the QB like they did Sunday and it helped shutdown the hottest Offense in football so they say!

I really wonder why Arthur Brown has never been given another shot with the defense. I've seen Orr playing 3rd down a lot lately. I think Brown with his speed should at least get a fair shot.

Maybe because Orr is clearly outplaying him? Brown played in all 15 games, and is the owner of a whopping number of 2 (two) tackles. Orr (an undrafted guy, compared to Brown, an early second round pick), on the other hand, in the same 15-game span has had 18 solo and 3 assisted tackles... He also had a sack, which is one more than Brown's tally.

Brown had 3 seasons to make an impact. As a "quasi first rounder" (he was our first pick in 2013), he was kind of expected to have established himself by now... Never happened.

Sorry, but high pick guys rarely ever get 3 whole seasons to develop - especially when an UDFA guy clearly overtakes him on the depth chart.

I gotta say if Ryan Mallet wins this game tomorrow their should be some starting QB conversation at the end of the season in Baltimore. Now before a lot of Ravens fans go into bashing me for my comment. Lets look at the facts. 1. "If" is a keyword here. I am interested more in his ability to play with current receivers... If Malett was the starter heading into next season I would say the Ravens need to draft a LT (depending on how K.O. deal works out) or a FS or CB. If its Flacco draft a Dez Bryant type wide receiver with a big body to go up catch those jump ball/touch passes. Malett does not need anymore wideouts because he is a gunslinger that can get the ball there. I'm checking to see can Malett duplicate his performance of last week and hit multiple receivers. 2.Bengals defense is a much tougher challenge and I'm interested to see Malett ability to read coverages. This is another problem Flacco has starting at QB. 3. Record says a lot and despite what some fans may say Malett will be up against the best the Bengals has to offer. Andy Dalton not being able to play can not be controlled. The Ravens have lost the last 4 out of 5 games to the Bengals. Him beating the Bengals and the Steelers says a lot for him as a QB only 19 days into the offense and Flacco has played every game.

@EdballhawkReed20 I agree 100%! I told them when Joe went down they're mite be a QB controversy on the horizon! I want to see Marlon Brown playing with Ryan Mallet because I feel he will have a good day! The Ravens beat the hottest team in football so they say with backups! Oh yeah I thought Joe was a "Gunslinger"?! RYAN FOR PRESIDENT LOL

There won't and shouldn't be any discussion about the QB position once Joe's healthy. Waste of time for fans to think otherwise.

You'll never see Marlon play another snap for this team. At some point, common sense has to take over.

I haven't set the bar too high for this game but I'm excited to see the kids playing for real! What better way to end a dismal season than to avenge our opening home loss in the Bungles house?

For heaven's sake... You're ready to call for a competition after 2 (TWO) good games (one of which hasn't even happened yet), compared to Flacco's 7 solid seasons??? Just what dimension of overreaction is this?

Mallett was a FA, could have been picked up by any teams for months - never happened. If Flacco became available, he'd have a new job in like 30 seconds. Think about that.

There is only gonna be any kind of starting QB conversation in Baltimore if Flacco's contract restructure talks break down. As he's not a free agent, he can't be tagged, so, if he - or rather, his agent - stays pat and declines to restructure the deal - or not much enough to be acceptable for the organization - that's gonna be a situation to resolve. But if the restructure gats done, there isn't gonna any kind of genuine competition. If Mallett was anywhere near Flacco quality, he'd long be the franchise QB of another organization - not jobless for half a season.

This is big for the Bengals, as the hope for a bye week looms large in avoiding having a backup start in the playoffs, as Dalton will need this extra week to be ready to get back on the field. Of course, they also need help from the Chargers for that to happen. Still, it would be nice to erase all hope for that bye week for them before the 4 PM games even start.

It is certainly a rarity, but I'll be rooting hard for the Jets this weekend. That will complete the Steelers season demise and our role as spoiler in the final two games of the season will be fulfilled. Sad that this is all we have to root for, but so it goes.

Yes, there is that and the stage is set, yet again, for the Ravens to be spoilers! That would be a splendid two-game end to our dismal season!  :oldwiseman:

And,.... I have a Marine buddy who lives just outside of Buffalo and we're been conversing on Facebook all season about Tyrod Taylor! Interestingly, when I mentioned that I'd be rooting on the Jets and why, he said he perfectly understood, and forgave me, gaving me his blessing for such a blasphemy! LOL   :lol3:

I agree ... if Flacco has a newly structured deal and is ready to play, there is simply no controversy over who our starting QB will be week 1. Controversy could seep in if 1) Joe isn't ready to play to start the season and Mallett looks sharp for about 3 or 4 games and we're undefeated at that point or 2) Joe does start the season and struggles mightily for the opening 3 or 4 games where we're losing and appear to be starting off another lost season.

However, looking at the more near term considerations and to the point I bolded ... what if indeed talks begin to break down between team and Flacco's camp? Are we in any way able to use Mallett as leverage? Even that seems to be a stretch. I just don't think the Flacco camp could take seriously any sort of plan B that involves putting our franchise's future on the shoulders of a guy who has proven so little.

How screwed up will it be if the Ravens win with this crew will all those people called starters are on IR?. Even so, Kubiak showed some issues was coaching.
