Interesting concepts.

 

I just don't understand WHY our fan base just can't be happy with a "backup" QB that performs well when called upon in the absence of the "starter" if he's unable to go.  Mallett did what was asked and expected of him Sunday.

 

I think it's interesting that so many can't be happy with a Back-up to 'Average Joe' for one of the same reasons that a Broadway star suspects that her understudy may turn in a better performance than her - INSECURITY!   

'Average Joe's' game is such that there's no gloss and glitter! We win, but usually Joe's games are lackluster affairs, even in victory!

Even though we all realize Flacco's the Ravens' Starting QB, many feel they must defend him against any and every critic. 

 

If,... for example, we ever saw Joe come off the field and huddle with his Receivers in order to find a way to attack an opponent's Secondary, I'd be the first to ask, "Who are you, and what did you do with Joe Flacco?"
