[News] Steve Smith Sr. Announces He's Coming Back

91 posts in this topic

Thank God, let's hope he recovers well, even if he doesn't the amount he can teach all our young receivers is invaluable. But here's wishing we can send him off the same we did with Ray Lewis.

his leadership and locker room presence is more than welcomed back but i hope the fo does not want him as our #1 or 2 receiver. at his age he needs to be more of a 3rd down receiver which will allow him to be stronger late in the season and not have too much abuse on his body. perriman is a ? so finding a #1 should be the goal. aiken proved that he can be a solid #3 or 4. the rest of the guys can battle it out for the #5,6 or special teams

Awesome. He is coming into a great scenario. Aiken and Perriman will both hold their own and take some stress off of SSS. He was worked like a horse this season.

Let's finish the 2016 season with a bang. And Steve smith sr you got unfinished business with mike Mitchell you would do the whole nfl a favor. Hope everyone that is injured works hard and plays better than before and win the Super Bowl. Go Ravens!

if our players put as much effort as he did in games, every game we played this season would have been like the steelers game on sunday. we know what he brings to the table, its up to the ravens organization, harbs, Ozzy, pees replacement, to live up the expectations we have from them

Good the Ravens need his leadership and toughness to Breshad Perriman how to be a player .

Exactly.  SSS is a very much needed presence on the field and the sideline.  Aiken under his tutelage will just continue to flourish, and the two of them will give Joe the reliable, tough targets he needs.  Very happy he is coming back!

Definetely good news, maybe he can have a going out gift like Ray, with his determination and ferocity he definetely is one of those players that deserves a ring. To think that Hines Ward has two and he has none is very agitating and I don't think there's a debate as to whose better. It used to seriously bother me that Troy and Porter had rings over Suggs and Reed but that was taken care of eventually.

Love that he's coming back. Now... IMO

1. Everyone get healthy

2. Restructure Joe's contract

3. Sign KO to play LT (Jenson stays at LG)

4. Sign FA Alshon Jeffery

5. Draft a pass rusher and CB with 1st and 2nd picks

6. Cuts: Monroe, Pitta, Arrington

Call me anytime, Ozzie. = )

Good to have SR back, still got to draft gamechanging WR to relief pressure on Sr, and plan for eventual retirement.

If Ravens are going all out to win these last 2 games, they are going to be 8-12 range pick and miss out on Bosa and Ramsey.. They coukd grab Laquan Treadwell big stud WR, First pick

Or wait til 2nd round grab, a Michael Thomas, Will Fuller, Josh Doctson, Boyyd,

But gotta grab one if that bunch

Aiken, yes but with Perriman- I'd hold off on assuming he will "hold his own" next year. Maybe he will, but considering he missed his entire rookie training camp, preseason, and regular season he's got a long way to go to and a lot to prove. The fact that it was a non-contact knee injury that sidelined him (and a mysterious, puzzling one at that), and he's known primarily for his speed...idk, that certainly doesn't seem to bode well for him. I hope I'm wrong and he turns out to be the next Antonio Brown, but as far as I'm concerned the jury is still out on Perriman.

Between SSS announcing his return and beating the Steelers, what a happy ending to this trying and difficult season. Already excited about next year.

I do like that because he brings that attitude to our offense. My only problem is that we need to more production outside of SSS. I would hate to see him go down again because we're utilizing him WAY too much. He should be our chain mover next year and not the guy we throw 10 targets every week. Get that ball spread out and utilize the play action for a solid run game. We need that type of production to keep SSS healthy. Hell, we need better treatment so our guys won't continue to drop like flies. Look at Eugene. He was durable up until get got to Baltimore. We might need to change up treatment or the way we practice. Don't wont to turn our roster into the Chicago Bulls smh.

Oh good. So our "top" WR next year will be almost 40. And meanwhile, who knows if the "top" WR we drafted last season will ever even play an NFL snap.

This is a bad idea. Steve, you're done, and you're running on stubbornness now, nothing more. Don't be another Ed Reed or Emmit Smith. Know when it's time to hang it up.
