Steve Smith announces return

89 posts in this topic

What reservations did you have?  dude has been a beast his whole career. too old?

I was worried about the reputation. He did beat down a teammate.

Those were different times, obviously, and Steve has done nothing like that here. Love the stories you hear about him on the field, in the locker room, and in the community. He's hilarious, too.

honestly never heard that story. You see the clip of him and forsett before we played the Raiders, I think, shows a good side of him, those two seem like a blast to be around

no because on mobile I have to wade through 3 pages before I can get to receNT posts.

If you're in the mobile skin and on a mobile device, when you click on a topic it should take you to the most recent post NOT read by you.

Good to hear. Realistically he's probably going to miss the first couple games due to the recovery time though right?

Steve had that reputation but I've seen none of it, like you said he's been awesome. He and Forsett do have a great friendship. I've read stories about he and Flacco having a good relationship, making bets on what coverages they were reacting to in practice. I'm a fan of his, no doubt.

Steve Smith + Perriman + Aiken + A Free Agent or draft pick #1 or 2 = Dangerous WR core

Steve Smith + unknown + Aiken + another dude + another unknown = unknown level of skilled WR corps ;)

This is awesome. With Aiken progressing and Perriman's upside this could be a pretty good group. Maxx will also be a year better and Gillmore will be returning. Pitta has a shot to play as well.

However, it could also wind up that SSS isnt the same after his injury, Perriman struggles in his first year and we're not much better than we were this year.

We shouldnt settle with the current crop. Need to make a decent vet signing, but it definitely drops down the priority list a bit. We should also grab one in the 3rd/4th round.

Top priorities are now FS, CB, pass rush and OT/OG depending on if we keep KO and where we play him if we do.

What if you don't want to read the most recent post you haven't read and want to skip ahead? I guess that's too much to request, huh?

I don't know how to feel about this, he was clearly the ravens best receiver this year but the WR corp next year should really start with :

SSS, Aiken, Mathews, Perriman.

Maybe Waller and Butler but they really need to add some real talent to an underperforming group.

Steve at 75% of what he was this year is still a beast. Aiken is nothing shy of average. He's made some impressive plays. Perriman is still a question mark, but i expect him to at least perform at the same level as Kamar Aiken. Any good Free Agent pickup that is a certain #2 or better (Like Golden Tate as an example) would make our WR core dangerous.

Simple. Go to the top where it has the url and its ending with a page #. Add a digit or two and voila, you're at the most recent page.

I think we can EASILY say Steve is the best WR in Ravens history, right?

We've had some good WR like Mason and Boldin as recent players and Jackson and others as older players but I think as a player he's the best. I'm not sure if he's the best we've had as a Raven since he's only been here two years now and his second year saw him injured for the year.

He's certainly the toughest and most Raven-like

Shouldn't have to jump through those hoops but I doubt you're a programmer and don't mind it but the functionality is relatively simple to implement and improves user interface and should be implemented. Really no excuse you can muster that'll excuse it imo so you may as well not waste your time.

Geezy peezy, just trying to help. Until a solution is there for you, this very simple method of adding a single digit has performed well for me over the years. Definitely not jumping through any hoops.

And yeah, I program here and there.

My point is it's bad design and it shouldn't take this long to implement because it's really not that difficult to implement. Sorry for coming off harsh. I read that and see how it did. I'm annoyed by the bad design not your comment.

I know about adding to the query string but I just feel like that's making the user jump through unnecessary hoops

I don't know. The WRs we had in the very early years of the team were amazing. He had a season with two 1,000 yard receivers, and that was back when the rules didn't favor the offense as much.

Or just change it to 999 and it will take you to the last page

Let's say he gets frustrated and attacks a teammate like Jimmy or Will or Elam and it turns into a huge scuffle in training camp next year!! Do you think he gets cut or a get out of jail free?? With him being SS and a veteran.

Effectively the same thing I am saying the user do.

Glad to hear SSS is coming back but he's definitely not enough!  We need more studs and beasts to be a part of that WR group and to truly compete in the league imo.

While i love SSr and what he brings, i dont think you can even put him in the same discussion as Boldin, Torrey, or even Mason.  He has 1700 yards and 7 TDs for us.  Yea he brings a lot to the table but he hasnt accomplished near what the others i mentioned did.

I never cared much for Derrick Mason. Lot of garbage production. Never did anything when it really counted. Boldins clutch production in the playoffs stands out so far.
