I prefer Bosa to Dodd and if I'm being honest with myself it's not close. But you have to know what you can get with Bosa. If what you want is Sizzle's heir, and a guy that will lock down a spot as a 3-down OLB, I have bad news for you. But let him play on the inside as a 3tech, he'll kill any offense. Anytime he was lined up inside he was in the backfield .

Of course he can play outside, but not on a single-snap basis.

I like both but I see why some absolutely love Dodd. He's not as far along but I think his ceiling is higher than Bosa but his floor is subsequently lower.

I know what you mean but I really don't like when people or scouts try to determine one's ceiling. It is highly unprecise, and honestly I always have that scouting report of JJ Watt in mind. I don't like the ceiling talk, because it make it sound as if we could determine a player's limits, which we absolutely can't. Iit's not directed to you, please don't take this as criticism or anything of the sort, but honestly I don't want to judge a player by his ceiling.

I take no offense and I'd normally agree but I'll say this much: sometimes it is possible to guess a prospect's ceiling. Character, work ethic and devotion in college, athleticism, and other qualities I'm probably forgetting all can be used to guess a prospect's ceiling.

And dodd is a grade A character. I think he hits his ceiling

I think Bosa's work ethic is criminaly underrated.

Bosa, while he hasn't reached his ceiling, is still limited compared to dodd imo. I think that's where the difference in ceiling talk comes. I wouldn't question his work ethic because you don't have a 26 year olds grown man body at 20 by slacking off, you don't have hand and footwork and field iq of a 2nd contract vet by slacking off either lol

Well he can still progress a lot on his hip flexibility for example. If he manages to get more flexible and be better at bending the edge he'll be extremely versatile and very near DPOY imo.

That's not an easy thing to fix though for someone who's already built so well.

Reading some scout quotes about Ngakoue, apparently a few didn't like what they saw regarding his effort in drills that weren't rush orientated, his poor body language and constant eye rolling stood out and they took that as someone who does not want to fall in line. Maybe it's nothing but that bugs me.

Noah Spence is the best pass rusher in this draft. Go get him Ozzie.

Hope spence falls to us in the 2nd round then.

I do like Shaq, as I previously mentioned.
However I had to change my pick in the poll, as I don't think he'd be a good fit in Baltimore; he lacks the ideal bending and speed to be a 3-4 OLB.
I don't see the comparison with Za'Darius/Dupree though.. they were both much more agile, our 4th rounder used a ton of swim moves and Dupree was just a freaking fast/unpolished edge-rusher, more similar to Floyd.
I'd say he's the next Robert Ayers.
Now, it's not that I have to pull for Lawson at any cost; I'm not his mom nor I'd take him at #6 overall, but I don't know if you've ever seen Upshaw spinning or using the hands like he does.
Even the "good when unblocked" tag sounds unfair imo:

(I don't want to fill an entire forum's page with gifs, so I'll just highlight his spin)

(spins against Stanley)

I don't have enough time to dig into vids now, but he will fare well as a base 4-3 DE and when coaches don't ask him to 'spy'.

And they say Stanley destroyed  him who are they trying to fool ?

He did have some good plays.. but those ppl are just blind or partially informed.
Interesting how even Mayock claimed the same thing.. did he even watch the game?

Honestly I've watched that game once more, and Shaq got one holding and one pressure (on the gifs actually) and that's about it. I wouldn't say either one dominated, but Ronnie more than held his own against him
