We won't have to worry about Marlon being sent to IR next year, guy has regressed since his rookie year and has always had nagging injuries, time for us to move one from him. As for the rest of the guys: it's shocking how many starters are on that list - Flacco, SSS, Forsett, Gilmore, Monroe, Zuttah, Suggs, and I believe a couple of those other guys started a few games as well. The failure of this season can't be put squarely on the shoulders to injuries but its naive to say they didn't play a big role, if half of those starters didn't get injured we probably would have gone 8-8, not good but certainly better. Injuries have been a serious problem two years in a row, something must be the cause of this, it's very unlikely that its a coincidence that we had almost 20 guys on IR back to back seasons.

Tell Ravens fans something we don't know. And it just puts it into perspective that, our defense, for the most part, has been playing inexcusably pitiful...although, now that I think about it, having a lack of playmakers can count as an excuse, just not a good one.

On defense go through that list. Suggs is really it. We want to blame injuries but the defense was largely intact. Sadly in a lost season overshadowed by offensive injuries Pees will escape any blame.

Look at that list and the Ravens beat the hottest team in football so they say! Wish I could see Marlon Brown playing with Ryan Mallet, believe he would have a very good day!

BaltimoreRavens.com Injuries = Excuses

This team still has a lot of wholes. Besides Flacco, Smith (both late in the year) and Suggs, we didn't really lose much- that is unless you think Perriman, Elam, and Marlon Brown were going to be key contributors.

This is too much and for too long to be bad luck...dont forget that we ended last year with 18... not far off of the record pace... that puts us at nearly 40 in two seasons.... 40! Thats unbeleivable... and for a time before that...we have been bad... CMON this is not bad luck and this is not coincidence. Too many people over too long of a time span and too far outside of the norm. The question is why does bad luck happen more to us then anyone else???? and by far? BC it is not luck...its horrible prepartion!

This story was recycled too many times already. Marlon Brown was not a contributor to this team on the field in 2016 other than a few drops. Lets stop talking about all the injuries and talk about the players who are making plays. Zadarius Smith, Jeremy Butler, Kamar Aiken, Buck Allen have been flashing in games recently...

Yes, Suggs was the only one. His loss cost Doom some production as well as overall cohesion.

I was listening to the radio and someone who covers the Ravens has already gone on record as saying there may be a "fall guy" for the way things have gone. We will see.

And pees still has a job

Is the poor play because of the players not executing or the coaches or both? I seem to read either it's the player's fault or Pees. Why not somewhere in the middle and everyone needs to take some of the blame.

But if it is Dean, how do we explain Sunday? Blind squirrels find acorns every now and then? That was a good offense.

Yeah, he would have ONE very good day. Then he'd revert back to Marlon being Marlon.

Good news is... we don't have to worry about talking about him anymore.

He gone.

For the second year in a row, its sort of a misleading headline and a crutch. Lets examine...

Of the 19 guys on IR, I'd say at least 6 of them I would classify as "not major contributors":

Marlon Brown, Darren Waller, Allen Reisner, Cam Worthy, Micajah Reynolds, Chase Ford. So on that premise alone, its down to 13 players on IR.

Then, when you account for players like Monroe and Gillmore who were placed on IR almost entirely due to the teams position in the standings, and likely would have still been on the roster if this team were competing for the playoffs, you've basically got 10 injured players who are significant contributors.

That's a lot, and many of them are key players, but that's also half of the number being reported.

I agree that most of these guys are marginal players whose loss was no big deal. Out of this list, the losses that really hurt were Suggs, Perriman, Campanaro,S. Smith,Forsett, and Flacco. The others either contributed little or were lost late enough in the season when the team's fate was already sealed. The silver lining is the injuries let us see players we ordinarily wouldn't who have a future on the team -- Aiken, Butler, Z. Smith, West, Allen, Urschel, and Mallett.

Ok but how do you explain the 10 losses ? Jimmy and Webb playing soft always giving 15-20 yards

That is my point. jimmy got paid. Webby is not what he used to be. Hence, they need to play off so they don't get embarrassed. Can't totally blame coaching when your team is not as good as the competition.
