[News] Late For Work 12/28: Snoop Dogg & Internet React To Ravens' Shocking Upset Over Steelers

84 posts in this topic

It was all we needed. We are also missing our starting running back and some starting O-linemen. Mallet won with backups against the starting line up of our hated rivals. Flacco who?

Yeah, weak argument. 20 points and win one game. I'm not impressed enough to give him anything more than a backup gig.

When he goes into Pittsburgh in January and puts up more than 30 and wins, then we can talk.

..and 2nd of all if you really think joe is worth paying 20 mil a year after you just saw Mallett play(without an interception by the way which has been flaccos calling card lately, and for waaaaaay less than 20 mil) you sir are the one who's either not a true Ravens fan or just outta ur mind!! If your going to make a bold statement like this one, better make sure you take everything into account. In Flacco's situation, he was around from day one with many new faces with little experience, where mostly everyone was learning a new system. Mallet may have had to learn a new system in short order, which is a great accomplishment, but everyone else around him is now well versed in the system and have many more live game reps. One solid game does not make you a full our starter, i don't care who you are. A starter gives you a chance to win no matter what the situation for good or for worse. Joe has shown countless times that he gives the team a chance to win. Mallet does not yet have enough body of work to say the same with any confidence. That's not to say he isn't or can't get to that point, but it is definitely not accomplished in a single game. Keep drinking that purple kool-aid. Leave the football decisions to people that actually know the game and how to evaluate the players.

That Upshaw 'lazy' stance cost us a win by 17 points, but hey we still won! I feel for Jimmy's INT return for a TD and also feel sorry for Upshaw. He explained he just wanted to be close to his man because they were so close tot the goal line - totally understandable, but foolish.

I'm not so sure I would put all the blame on Upshaw for that one...it isn't like Steeler's centers haven't been known to move the ball before the snap, just sayin'!

Weaker retort.

How about this as a possibility. Mallet want to start next year, we need more talent at other positions, Mallett takes advantage of next weeks finale to once again play lights out against CIN, with no real star QB's in next years draft we trade him for a second round pick and use Clausen as our backup.

I actually thought about using mallet as trade bait as well. A team like Dallas who has seen the troubles of having poor backup qbs just might bring an offer to the table. Not so sure they will want to rely on romo staying healthy again which he has shown he cannot..and there are slim pickings in the draft..if mallet plays lights out next week Id be willing to bet that some teams will put in a call atleast to inquire. Who knows , a dumb team like Cleveland may offer up a second rounder. Teams may rather get somebody they have seen hold up in the NFL rather than rolling the dice on an unproven rookie. Although mallet doesn't have a very big sample size either. Edited by January J

Zero percent chance you get a 2nd rounder from even a desperate team. Keep in mind any team in the league could have had him for nothing two weeks ago. Winning one game doesn't raise your value from street free agent to 2nd round pick, regardless of how impressive that win is. Still plenty of other game film out there.

Congratulations to our Ravens on an emotional win that means nothing for us next year. Great. We went from pick 3 to pick 8. The Steelers were worth that, really? Sometimes it's good to think with your head than your heart.

I'd say it was worth it. Quite possibly may have been the game that knocked them out of playoffs.

just watched the unedited snoop dogg rant n that is hilarious, proves that just as much as we may respect the steelers, they too hate playing us so the feeling is completely mutual. Extremely proud to be a Raven fan regardless of how many wins we have. A true fan rides it out no matter we win or lose, our team has suffered worse seasons n we have managed to turn it around. #Ravens!

I have to laugh at all you people jumping on the Mallet bandwagon after one game. The Steelers thought this game was going to be a slam dunk with our injuries and our record. Mallet played a nearly flawless game and was quite impressive but Flacco is money when it comes to the playoffs. NOBODY wants to play the Ravens in the playoffs and thats mainly because of Flacco.

"...worth that...?" Completely!!!

If you don't get it, if you can't find enough pride in your team (especially in this win) to suspend your draft pick fantasy, then what good is any draft pick (anywhere)...when you have no pride in your team anyway.

yeah a second is probably a stretch but if he goes into the cinci game next week and drops 300 with 2+ tds and gets the W you don't think a team would even consider giving up a third? The biggest knock against him were the character concerns and if he keeps showing that he has matured and that a lot of the issues stemmed from houstons coach jerking him around I think that will put a lot of teams concerns to rest. But your right , still a very small sample size.

Nope. 4th rounder at best. And considering that this whole concept is based on literally one game, if he goes to Cincinnati and struggles, which is very likely, then his value returns to what it was.

So 71,000 fans spend about $8,000,000 to watch a Ravens game at the stadium—not to mention the countless fans watching on tv—and the players are supposed to flop for a team they could be cut from by the following year? That's ridiculous. Every team and player owes it to their fans to show up on game day and play their hearts out. That's why they're all millionaires. It's called being professional. The win means everything for the team next year as it give a chance for coaches to see who is worth keeping.

Those fans who continue to think the Ravens should just fold up the tent are not real Ravens fans. How silly of them to think that? They don't think these men are playing for their football lives and then fans are just ignorant about the game of football and are only interested in the team when it is winning. Sure, we all want a winning season, sometimes you have to take the bad with the good. It rains on the just as a well as the unjust. I follow this team just as much during the off season because I'm invested in my team. I never ever want to see them give in or give up. Michael Irving said this: " Stand up, Look up and Never Give Up". Go Ravens Beat those Bengals!!

Hey Snoop pull up a seat next to me on the couch.

We can watch everyone else's teams in the playoffs!

Your Squeelers are just as done as my Ravens!

Only we are getting a top ten next year...

Oh and we swept your high flying offensive machine....!

Ha Ha Ha...

When you say WRs, you mean one WR...Aiken. There has been literally nothing impressive from the other guys across the board. Catching one or two passes a week isn't impressive.

We aren't scoring nearly as many points without Flacco. People thought we had a great offensive performance yesterday, yet we scored a whopping 20 points.

Jeremy butler has been alright
