[News] Ravens Take Pleasure In Sweeping Rival Steelers

37 posts in this topic

Boomer Esiason must not like the Ravens much !

He looked like he'd taken a bite of a crap sandwich after the game was over...!

I love when the pundits give us no chance and we show them different !

But Bart Scott siting next to him was ready to jump out of his seat and he seemed to enjoy rubbing it in Boomer and Cowher's face.  Even still referred to the Ravens as "we".

Congrats to the team- this was a nice win. Too bad though that we can't believe every team we lost to this year was the Squeelers, meaning if we played all of our games with the same passion, then maybe we'd have more wins- this is a really confusing win for me. If we played great today against a playoff contending team, then why couldn't we do this all year? Also, I'm going to throw this out there, but maybe we get rid of Flacco and start go with Mallet. We have so much dead money on the books and such bad drafts in the past five years, why pay Flacco 18M a year when we need to fill all these holes? It's not like we're going to get good overnight anyway with all these holes- if we take Flacco's money, then we can sign some better free agents. Preston writes a good article about the state of the Ravens here: http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/ravens/bs-sp-preston-ravens-column-1225-20151224-column.html

Number 1: Preston is a buffoon who makes his money stirring the pot. If he was truly a journalist, he wouldn't have to resort to always being Negative Nancy.

Number 2: The Ravens owe Flacco a boatload of money. If you think you are going to cut him, the cap hit will hurt more than keeping him without restructuring his contract.

Number 3: Some people you just can't reach. :bricks:

this has been a miserable year for us Ravens fans, but yesterdays game was a big beam of sunshine on the season. Hopefully it ends the Steelers playoff chances.

We looked really good out there. Still some very unnecessary penalties...some very football 101 penalties...but, otherwise the way we played yesterday...if we could have played like that all season, we'd be in playoffs no doubt. THATs something to take into offseason and give us boost to relish bringing this kind of football full on next year! And just stop those penalties (2nd most in NFL).

Pees puts together a great defensive plan by saturating the secondary and forcing the run. Despite Smith and Lewis moving the ball for the Steelers better than Steelers themselves it still worked great. Still There are fans blaming the three big PIs on the DC. SMH

Made the season for me. SWEET! It was so much fun to see Mallett out there looking like Peyton Manning, and our rag-tag group of guys who normally wouldn't be playing after the preseason wreaking havoc with the great Steelers. If only the offsides penalty hadn't negated Jimmy Smith's pick, I wouldn't ask for another thing this season. That almost killed me.
