Glaring Bias On Tv This Morning

26 posts in this topic

I know none of us are surprised by how espn and other networks refuse to report on the ravens.
however
this morning looking at espn's nfl countdown we are now heading into 20+ minutes of the show
without even a mention that our game even happened!
first coverage was on the blowout in carolina and then pacman
this shouldnt amaze me but it somehow does

i just think its crazy because they arent even taking the chance to badmouth the ravens with how lopsided
the stats were and how bad the D looked or anything.
they are just ignoring the game even happened it seems.
not even a mention of it coming up at any time during the show either since they have previewed the giants game
and the steeler LB core past and present

I have to disagree with you.

I have watched a lot of ESPN this week since the Dolphins game and we have gotten so much coverage and most of it positive.

They probably opened up with the Panthers and Cardinals game because they felt bad for mocking the Cards the whole week. If anyone deserves the time allocated by ESPN it is the Cards, who should be getting mad apologies from the whole sports pundit community. I was watching the game last night and at halftime I felt really bad for the Cards. They weren't really focused on how well the Cards were doing but more on the fact that it was inevitable that they were going to blow it. If I was a Cards fan watching that game I would've been livid.

I think we have had a lot of really good coverage... let the Cards have this one :P

It will make for a better story when we win the Superbowl. They ignored during the season and throughout the playoffs so after we win it all they can say "The Ravens came out of nowhere". <_<

Seriously, who cares?

I've come to realize that as long as a NFC East team, the Steelers, the Patriots, the Packers or Colts are in the playoffs, nothing else matters to ESPN.

It's like the new MLB network kicking off coverage with almost 24/7 Yankees & Red Sox games, as if there aren't 28 other teams in the league worthy of coverage. You don't really see Bud Selig falling all over himself trying to promote the Royals, Orioles or Pirates, do you?

as i opened up with the statement that we shouldnt be surprised.
i know we dont get coverage like the others.
but again there were only 2 games payed yesterday. and im not saying that the cards shouldnt of gotten the headline.
my point is though that they have not even brought up our game and we are now 30+ minutes into the show.
they havnt shown anything, talked about, mentioned anything thus far.
with only 2 games yesterday this is pretty glaring which is my point.

I can't watch TV right now as my roomie is out there shooting ****... and I may join him soon.... I like sniping people with the heavy assault weapons...

What I'm saying is, why does it really matter? We have gotten so much coverage, far more than the Cards really did over the past week. Some pundits picked us and gave us some made props. Everyone picked the Panthers to stymie the Cards and discussed all of their weaknesses. The Cards have been way more disrespected then we have. I'm glad they are getting coverage, I hope It's positive.

I'm a diehard Ravens fan, Baltimore football is pretty much the only thing my family ever agrees on, but even I was pissed at the sportscasters last night when all they could discuss was how and when the Cards were going to implode. I found myself rooting for the Cards.

I felt like when I was watching the Terps and Nevada game. All the reporters could talk about was how and when the "godly" Nevada QB was going to lead them to victory past the Terps.

with your thinking do any of the threads on a messege board matter? no not really but they bring up valid points to be discussed.

i as so many others having been a fan from the beginning fully realize we will never be a media darling like the teams we know who are.

all i brought up was just how bad it is today. you would think given a #1 seed went down yesterday there would be some mention of it. thats all

i couldnt care less if we get all sorts of coverage or if people love us or not. i love the haters. i just find it crazy they refuse to even mention the game thus far even if it is presented in a totally titans biased way.

Well, you also have to realize that they are in pain right now. All the guys that they have a love affair with are out of the playoffs. Tom Jackson has a man crush on Haynesworth and now he's gone. The golden boys Peyton Manning and Matt Ryan are gone. The Panthers sexy offense is gone. Romo and Jessican didnt even get to make it to the playoffs.

All that remain is the ugly Baltimore Ravens, the reject Cardinals, and either the Ugly Pittsburgh Steelers or reject Chargers and the reject Eagles or the Giants.

They dont know what to cover anymore. All the upsets have sent their worlds crashing down because they have finally realized that they will have to seriously sit down and anaylsis each team because there will be no clear favorite next week. Especially if the Chargers and Eagles win.

I've been saying it all week. Who cares. We are in the AFC Championship game. even if they don't want to talk about us they will have to. It doesn't matter if they don't talk about us or they talk about us until they are blue in the face.

I don't understand how people can bad mouth a network all season but can't wait to tune in and see what they have to say. If you think we don't get enough attention then stop watching national programs and stay local. Espn, Nfl network and all other will follow whats hot. In due time they will have to talk about us because we will be 1 of only 4 teams left, like i said even if they don't want to they will.

And other thing. For the poeple that think the Ravens don't get enough national love and want more. Please don't turn around and be the same people talking about how u don't like being the media darling and would much rather fly under the radar. You can't have it both ways. You either love the media because they are all over your favorite team, or you hate the media because they don't show your favorite team enought love. OR you could just not care!!!!!

The later of the two games is always covered first on ESPN. The Ravens game is old news, the Arizona win came late enough that many people on the East Coast did not stay up and watch it.

There is no bias in terms of coverage when there are only two games. The both get plenty of coverage.

"Pacman Jones and his lawyer are trying to talk to the Roger Goddell...

..Oh apparently there's a team who beat the Titans yesterday, more news on that when our sources report from the scene"

not sensitive at all and i dont think any part of my posts were about me worrying

and mod saying it was premature because later on we got some coverage, it still took 50 minutes in the show for them to mention the game

and again im not looking for all sorts of recognition because we are so great or whatever because im not i think a lot of you are missing the point
its just weird that for some reason espn didnt address address that our game even happened until almost an hour into the show.

LOL. Yeah it is amazing that Pacman Jones is taking up a headline during the Playoffs. With all the upsets going on, theres nothing to talk about except Pacman and how he is going to try to play when he shouldnt even be playing no more. I thought Goddell didn't want players outside of the playoffs to do something that would take away from the playoffs, but here we are CBS interviews him before OUR game yesterday, ESPN interviewed him this morning(Poor Eagles and Giants, Pacman is more important than their game) Can Goddell just get rid of him please, at this point I'd much rather see Mike Vick play in the NFL over Pacman Jones.

Not just that Adam Jones is taking up air talking about something that happened when he originally got in trouble 2 years ago.

That was a funny clip. What's he doing in Studio City, CA? I love how they asked him, why he can't stay away from strip clubs. He went on saying that he loves them strip clubs. They are like ordinary clubs. Then later he stated that he's a family man.

Family man NOT EQUAL TO Strip Clubs.
