Ok some people are arguing win this game for pride and who cares about draft position. Me personally, I say get ALL the players involved. We know what we have in Hill, we know Lewis(bum), so get Elam and Brooks back there. We know Doom, so let ABrown take all those snaps. So on and so forth..... This should be treated like a preseason game. The Bengals are fighting for a 1st rd bye. Theyll be playing hard. So send ALL of our borderline or questionable guys out there full time!!!!! If we get blown out, who gives a damn? We have nothing to play for. And IF the youngsters somehow win than ok. But pull Yanda, Jimmy, Webb, Lewis, Hill, Mosley, Doom, and a couple others that we already know their fate, be it there here or gone. Some others are def locked here but they gotta play to either get more snaps, like Aiken, or their gone and noone behind them that needs snaps like Upshaw. Lol.

I think this is in response to my post, not Mili's? I guess let me put it this way to answer your questions. I hate people who are okay with losing something that's actually competitive. It's one thing as a fan to be okay with losing. There's nothing any of us can do but yell like neanderthals and pray for a false start or delay of game. It's okay to lose to to your grandson on purpose. But people who are okay with losing are indeed pathetic, and this goes for all parts of life, not just pro sports. Ray Lewis once said, "Cause if you ain’t pissed off for greatness, that just means you’re okay with being mediocre.” And what bothers me is the people that are okay with being mediocre. Losing to get a better draft pick isn't greatness.

While I agree, it really doesnt apply to this game. Sure if you start the season and say lets lose every game so we can get Andrew Luck, like the colts did, thats different. But losing this game basically on purpose to get some film on other guys, or to let some guys show what they can do, that is NOT the same. Its not a loser mentality. Theyre gonna try their hardest and lose anyway for the greater good.

Yes, it absolutely applies to this game. Every day matters. Losing in a competition will never be for the greater good. Always do your best. If you're not trying to do your best, why do anything at all?

In theory we agree. We just disagree in verbiage. It is okay to lose, since losing is inevitable. No one always wins. Anyone who competes knows that. It is not okay to try and lose (for the most part) or to be content with your losses. And anyone who whines and cries for losing is just a poor loser. Not that you should be happy about it. But you can learn more from losing than from winning. Hopefully, the Ravens did some learning.

Now see, we agree here, completely. There is no reason to try and lose. At the least, the young players will learn to play better in a real game rather than one where they are supposed to lose for a draft pick. Dropping a game is never acceptable.

Maybe I didnt explain very well. Ill try and rephrase. Were not actually trying to lose. BUT we shouldnt play the guys we already know their fate for next year, be it here or being cut. Play Elam and Brooks and ABrown and get Urban out there for most snaps, etc.... Now those guys aren't going to win, no matter how hard they try. So it's not purposely losing, you're asking those guys to audition for next year, sorta like a preseason game. IF by some miracle they win than Ok. BUT Id rather gain a couple draft spots and get some gamespeed tape on guys to see if were gonna keep them or cut them. Hence treating this like 2016 Preseason game 1.

I loved what Snoop Dogg said about our boys in his rat when our Ravens dropped the Steelers on Sunday..... "Ya'll all ways got something to prove!"

There it is right there!  The Ravens will keep fighting!  And that's the way that I like it!

GO HARD or GO HOME!!

Actually they're of the opinion of not caring who their QB is, they just want to get over the playoff hump and win a super bowl at this point.

You missed the point- it was just a little comment on some of our fans anointing Mallet as the second coming.

I got it and those over exaggerations have been irritating for sure

We are going to do our best.  The coaches are coaching to keep their jobs.  The players will be playing to keep theirs.  I don't know why people think a team would not try to win in a game like this.  If the team just gives up it looks bad on the coaches.  Also if the get blown out it looks bad on Ozzie.  Everyone will be trying to win on both sides.  A win by the team means more than a few places higher in the draft.  A win means we are not that far away from being a good team.  A blow-out means we have a long way to go and is more than a few draft picks away from competing.

Elam is on injured reserve.  Has been all season.  He is ineligible to play.

I'm sure McCarron will play but Adam Schedfter reports he is getting an MRI done on his wrist that he injured on the last play of the game. So that would leave them with Keith Wenning starting if McCarron couldn't play against us?

Yeah, who ever the QB, Green is a major thorn and challenge. Problem is, the Bengals have lots of weapons on the ground as well as in the air and a tough defense. All three phases will need to perform well this week and avoid committing needless, ill-timed penalties. That's something they haven't done in a long time.

I agree! A blow out or even a loss could mean more players and/or coaches lose jobs. Who would even suggest that after seeing what happened to Chip Kelly in Philly? Losing is the quickest way to create job vacancies from top to bottom.

Just can't believe how fast this season was. Oh, well. Happy New Year.

Yeah I agree.

It really should have dragged on forever, but it really didn't.

Lucky us.

Wrong, right or otherwise, I don't really care about the outcome of this one. I'm still high from my day at the bank last week. I love how the team, the organization and the fans protected the house against the hated Steelers. For me, I'm having the family over to watch our last game of the year. A win would be nice, but I got my bone for this season last week.

So what's the prediction this time fellas? Id love to hear it. Does aj green

Go on another rampage? Can mallet do it again? Will buck Allen continue to grow? Will aiken keep up the consistency or reach 1000 yards receiving? Will the rivalry grow in the battle of the backups? We will soon find out. I know one thing- never count our boys out.

I think Green will have a good day at best.  Not great.  We will keep him under 100 yards, but not a lot under.

Mallet, same thing.  A good day but not a great day.  Rest assured the Bengals took note of last weeks game.  They will come in here with a somewhat higher level of respect opposed to how they would have come in if we had gotten out butts whooped last week,  They took note.  no doubt about that.

I still say we take the short end of this one but it will be a one possession game till the very end.

I think we get this one and closeout this season on a high note. If we play with that 'nothing to lose' and 'everything to prove' Ravens Swag that we played with last week, the Bengals more or less go into 'Reserve yourself' mode for the playoffs. It should still be a close game at the end. We were able to slow down one most prolific offenses in the league last week with their top playmakers in full effect. The Bengals have a little less talent available although they also have one of the most prolific offenses, as well. Oddly enough, this gives the Ravens a slight edge and real chance to be spoilers today.

Ravens by 3 to finish the season with a little luck, all-out reckless abandonment and playoff intensive play.

GO Ravens!!! 1st win in 2016!

Oh great, another game I can't watch because they're showing the Redskins on fox here in Frederick.

I know ... I finally bit the bullet and did the Sunday Ticket thing. Here in NC, they would only show us if we played the Pats or Steelers. Then, after proving that we're a force in the NFL by being a super bowl contending team for years, did they start showing us a bit more.

Now with this down season, we're back off their radar and it will probably take 3-4 seasons of being a contender again before they acknowledge our existence.
