[News] Byrne Identity: 20 Questions With Terrell Suggs

30 posts in this topic

You can tell in Sizzle's interview, he really misses the "organized chaos" guys a lot, I can identify with that, lol.  Ahhh, those were the days...such great memories!!!

Get well Sizzle and hurry back, we miss ya a lot!

Man I can't wait to get sizzle back. This season hasn't been the same without him. You could tell he really misses haloti, Ray and Ed.

Suggs is so dedicated to films, I am fascinated with that dedication of his. Same way with being a Raven too! Amazing athlete and the true leader of the Ravens at this point. The only leader with tangible leadership qualities handed down by Ray Lewis et al. After he retires, every remnant of the nasty Ravens D and that aura will be lost for good... Sad if and when he retires.

"You’ve got to remember, the seven of us, as a group. It was Ed Reed, Chris McAlister, Ray Lewis, Adalius Thomas, Bart Scott, Haloti and myself. That’s what we know as ‘Organized Chaos.’ We got after teams, and we had fun at practices. Special, very special.”

^ I miss those caliber of players on our roster!

Special, very special.%u201D - We need some more Organized Chaos. I look at this defense now, and I see 2 or 3 players that can make impact plays and change a game. Our defense used to be littered with guys like that. We need more guys with bad intentions. Guys who teams must account for or they will wreak havoc on their QB's (Sizzle is the prototype, go find more Sizzle). This team is getting soft and it is hard to watch.

Tough to believe but Sizzle may only have 1 or 2 seasons left if he's lucky. It's truly the end of an era of defensive dominance. Big Shoes to fill.

Hands down the best article written on this site in weeks. Not even being hysterical when I say this, but it really feels good to read/hear words from a true great player, and true Raven. Its been so long since any of us have seen/heard from a player that boast the character traits an Elite Raven has. Brute, merciless, fearless, smart and competitive...all the traits Suggs has.

i have said this several times over the past 2 years and that is that ted monachino should be our next dc. the players respect this coach. problem is he will restore organized chaos and than will be plucked away for a head coaching gig

I think it would have been a different season if Suggs had stayed healthy. Oh, and Steve Smith Sr., and Flacco, and Forsett, and....I wonder if Perriman will come out of witness protection?

Is it just me or is Dumervil almost a non-factor without a player like Suggs/Miller to help him get free.

when there is no one else getting pressure on the qb consistently than teams know who to target with double teams. should have kept mcphee and pees has no creativity to get pressure in other ways. hope he is replaced

Question 21- How bad does this team miss Ray Lewis and Ed Reed's leadership? Every since they've been gone, we've gone both soft and not as motivated it seems. Matt Elam who?

Dumervil has NEVER been the dominant pass rusher that people thought he was.  He's not the primary.  Never has been.  Has always had to have the help of someone else.  That's why he was brought in.  He took over for Kruger...  who then again, wasn't the primary.

As far as the dominant defense???  He's going back 10 seasons.  And that's gonna happen to ANY TEAM.  Just like the Steelers lost theirs...  They brought back Harrison for just that reason as well.   Guys like Brandon Williams, CJ Mosley, Upshaw, have to pick up where they all left off.  You just gotta build it.  Even those guys.  That didn't happen overnight.  Look at their draft years.  And the game has definitely changed in that you cannot defend the same as you did back in 2006.

That's what's missing "the core" of this team and it takes time to build and a coach that's not threaten by it. I agree with Suggs, I'm also not impressed by this team's public relations.

Just seems like we also don't have 5-6 play makers like we did 3-5 years ago- think poor drafting had to do with it. This team needs to get younger asap

What goofball would  neg a comment like that? I don't think we could get much younger Ravens are much like a college team now in the NFL . Like Ray said "everything has an end "  and we're seeing Ozzie's.

Every time I hear country or pop playing at the stadium I cringe and wonder how that could pump up the players at all. I agree with Suggs. Why play the music for the fans if it won't help the players. We're there to see them perform well and if they want to choose the music let them.

I think it is not just talent that differentiates this team with those from years past. I think the missing link is 'attitude'. Those guys played angry and with attitude! These guys are the quiet type. No bluster on or off the field it seems...

Im thinking "Thunderstruck" by ACDC or maybe "Let The Bodies Hit The Floor" would be good ones to play when we come out of the tunnel. We need to get riled up, we need to get nasty, we need to smack people in the mouth and then get in their faces and dare them to do something about it but, alas, with Dean Pees and his sit-back-and-hope-no-one-makes-a-big-play-on-us attitude we are never gonna get back to greatness.

Exactly. Not only does Pees not show any logical creativity, he fails to understand this defense. Heck, he's always up in the box during games communicating by a headset, how can he connect with the players?!?!?

It definitely has changed. Partly thanks to Twitter/Instagram

"Ed Reed, Chris McAlister, Ray Lewis, Adalius Thomas, Bart Scott, Haloti and Suggs". What a team! What a team!! This brings an incredible sense of nostalgia. Can this franchise ever assemble and develop a group of players like that ever again? Somewhere behind closed doors, they must be trying to find a way to rediscover the formula that made that possible. What most people forget is that this year Suggs is the only starter on defense that was on IR, before last week when Canty was placed on IR. Yet our defense has been mediocre. My point is that something has gone horribly wrong with the way the Ravens usually play defense, and injury has little to do with it.

Kevin, you've done it again. Very cool. Terrell is far more than a great football player; thanks for showing his many sides. Happy New Year!
