Week 16 Discussion (Other Teams)

315 posts in this topic

Here we are folks, The 2 week warning as playoff spots are on the line and teams are hoping to stay alive for week 17. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good Sunday of football. It all kicks off tonight with the Chargers visiting the Raiders for a special Christmas Eve game.

The Panthers & The Falcons who stole a perfect season?

Panthers @ Falcons: The Atlanta Falcons rebounded against the Jaguars after being blown out by the Panthers. The Falcons look to play the Grinch and spoil the perfect season for the Panthers. Carolina clinches home field with a win or Cardinals loss.

Playoff Implications:

Redskins @ Eagles: Sadly the Eagles loss to the Cardinals meant nothing as beating the Redskins Saturday Night and the Giants in week 17 can win them the NFC Least in 2015. The Redskins meanwhile are hoping for to unwrap the 2015 NFC East Title on Sat Night for the first time since 2012.

Patriots @ Jets: The Patriots can clinch home field advantage with a win or Bengals loss. Jets meanwhile can't clinch a playoff spot until week 17.

Texans @ Titans: The AFC South can be won on Sunday by the Texans with a win over the Titans and a loss by the Colts. Also even if the Colts win, Texans can clinch the division by SOS tiebreaker over the Colts.

Colts @ Dolphins: The Colts look like they may be eliminated from playoff contention. The Dolphins look to give Houston the AFC South while the Colts hope they can win this one and maybe bring Luck back in time to win it in week 17.

Browns @ Chiefs: Besides the Broncos QB situation giving away to the Chiefs stealing the AFC West right under the Broncos, the Chiefs schedule isn't helping. A game against the Browns will help them clinch a playoff spot but only with a Jets/Steelers loss.

Bengals @ Broncos: The year of the Backup QB is no truer than this game right here. No Peyton Manning nor Andy Dalton as the number 2 seed is on the line. Both Brock Osweiler and AJ McCarron have the task of winning their team's respective divisions and possibly winning in the playoffs. Bengals clinch the AFC North with a win and Steelers loss... sorry Cincy. The Broncos clinch the AFC West with a Chiefs loss. The Broncos can also clinch a playoff spot with a Jets loss or Steelers loss.

Packers @ Cardinals: The Packers can clinch the North by going on the road and beating Arizona with a Vikings loss. The Cardinals clinch a first round bye with a win.

Giants @ Vikings: The Vikings and Packers for the NFC North looks to be the favorite for the Sunday Night flex in week 17. The Vikings need a win and loss by Atlanta or Seattle win over the Rams to clinch a playoff spot with a shot at winning the NFC North in Week 17.

Chargers lead 14-7 here in the second quarter, a win would remove them from the 4 win clog and give them five wins on the year.

Ugh, Chargers need OL help in the worst way. This game could dictate whether we're in a position for Tunsil or indeed Stanley.

That's why we need them to win this.

Absolutely, even if we don't rate Tunsil I'd rather pass on him than have him pinched one pick before us. You wouldn't completely rule out a win against the Broncos, but I don't want to rely on it.

Bizarre sequence leading to a Chargers TD - but I won't complain about that.

Scratch that, call got overturned. Hopefully they can eat a ton of clock and still get a TD.

This is crazy

A drive like that would be such a Ravens way to lose the game.

But unlike Baltimore, their defence can actually get off the field. Lucky for some.

Unlike Baltimore, the Raiders defense gets a turnover at the right time in order to give the offense a chance to win the game.

Also unlike Baltimore, the Raiders receivers make timely catches in the end zone just like the one Crabtree just caught.

Unfreakinbelievable.

Brutal series of events. Hopefully Rivers can rally and find a go-ahead score.

Wow, DJ Hayden just put them in FG range with that stupid DPI. He should know not to be all over the receiver like that.

they just had to hit that 2 point conversion. They'd be in position to seal this one.

Pick your poison between that and the missed FG after the offside play gave them another shot and ironically ended up hurting them.

Bright side is that the Chargers have looked comfortably better ever since I got back home and started watching, so I'd back them in OT.

I'm surprised the Chargers took the 10-second runoff. I'd have thought they'd let the Raiders make a play on 3rd and 22 and give Rivers one last shot.

Looks like this game is going to run into Christmas at this rate.

Can we have a top three pick for Xmas?
