[News] Late For Work 12/24: Will Ravens Fans Prevent Terrible Towel Invasion?

43 posts in this topic

I am so deeply conflicted on this particular game. There is no team I would rather beat and play a spoiler to than Pittsburgh(with the exception of Brady Boys). Now, as much as I want the Ravens to beat them silly, realistically I don't know if they can. The other thing weighing on my mind (just to be intellectually honest) is the prospect of picking in the top 3-4 picks and having a chance at Bosa, Tunsil etc that could tilt the balance in this tight division moving forward. It is an honest conflict that I feel, but most importantly it must be acknowledged that I love these Ravens long term, so perhaps I can be excused for thinking long term in terms of team benefits!

Sunday's game headline--- It's the Squeeler's Ben Rothlesberg and Antonio Brown taking on Jimmy Clausen and Kamar Aiken and the Baltimore Ravens.. SMH.. what has this team come to? Injuries and bad drafts/ free agent signings/ dead money/ coaching put us to where we are today..

Let's all be real for a second, this team is horrendus- why? Ask Ozzie and DaCosta--- While the arrests are dramatically down this year for the players, we have a bunch of people who aren't fiery people.. I can't blame Oz on keeping SSS- that's all on Harb's man crush of SSS. But did it make sense to pay him $3M this year, a 37 year old receiver, rather than try to keep Torrey? Without Torrey, we were forced to take ghost man- I mean Perriman- then see what happened? Oz and Harbs put us back a year- plus the last five drafts haven't been very good either too. Merry Christmas everyone.

This is what happens when we are considered contenders. This is what happens when everyone thinks we had one of our best drafts in years. This is what happens when we are NOT underdogs. and frankly, this has been a cursed season with all the injuries especially to our QB who had never missed a game. If we beat Pitt, I am sure a lot of you will be happy because that would mean sweeping the arch rival in a down season, but I'd take a better draft position. Last but not least, I will NEVER sell my tickets to Pitt fans to see TERRIBLE TOWELS waving at M&T Bank stadium. That'd be the last team I'd sell mine to. Merry Xmas!

Lol I think the FO has been more than validated by not resigning Torrey. Aiken is a more well rounded WR than him.

Honestly I see no difference between Torrey and Givens right now...except price.

i would love to see a win only if every 4 and 5 win teams win as well. i like the #3 spot we are in and beating the squeelers is not worth it at the expense of having a chance to draft the best players at the top of each rd. im sure the stadium will be 60-40 steelers fans but oh well everything else has gone wrong this year.

torrey is a dime a dozen receiver but the fo should have signed mcphee knowing that suggs and doom are in their 30's and slowing down. i agree that there have been bad drafts lately and harbs has done a bad job in hiring position coaches. pees castillo and the 2 secondary coaches must be replaced. this team has some talent to work with but they need some playmaking studs/leaders on both sides of the ball.

Real Ravens fans don't sell their tickets to those stinking Steeler fans. I don't care how green their money is, they are not welcomed in our house. Do you really want them taking over our house, for real people? How embarrassing that would be. Like the final dagger to the heart. The very thought of that sickens me more than losing the game to them.

What if someone is a Steelers fan deep undercover posing as a Ravens fan? Kind of like Matt Damon on "The Departed"

the lesson that some still are learning is you cannot Judge a draft class based on 1 season and it takes time. Half of a season ? You judge a draft class 5 years down the road. This still very well could be one of the best draft classes in a long time, far too early to tell.

Let me tell ya something about the NFL Jan.

It doesn't take 5 years to see if a player is good or not. If you look at the past 5 years at least, you'll see that the true playmakers come out gate shining. Not 3-5 years down the road. In most cases 5 years is where they either change teams, or get signed to a bigger contract.

That rookie for the Chiefs #22, is making plays right out the gate, no need to wait 5 years lol. No offense to you Jan, but it just seemed like an excuse you were giving to these players on our team.

Crockett and all those players we drafted this draft sure showed good potential, even D.Waller a little bit...but the fact is, they are all non-factor at the moment........

But I promise you, remember that true playmakers come right out of college and into the NFL making plays.

you don't judge a draft after 1 year. That's entirely premature. Players take time to develop. Hell we haven't even seen our first round pick play yet. Sure you can judge a player or two but the draft in its entirety cannot be evaluated until after a few years in. That's not an excuse that's just a fact.
