[News] Late For Work 12/24: Will Ravens Fans Prevent Terrible Towel Invasion?

43 posts in this topic

Everyone knew Jimmy Smith could not be trusted and yet they give him a big contract, something New England would have never done. I view Ozzie like Payton, his time has come and gone untill proven otherwise but will sit thru more bad decisions untill the slow ones get it.

I hope SSS gets healthy, enjoys his time off w/his family, then decides to come back for one more year. He is a special kind of player and brings a lot of fire and emotion to the team, which are big things this team lacks. Hurry up, Draft Day.

I am beginning to wonder why we have OTA'S and all the other evaluating tools. This team makes up

their mind about who is going to be on this roster when the season ends. We lose players every year

that can help us win but we can't pay them. This QB Renner could not have done any more to impress a team and we finally lose him to the Titans. Hope to God he makes their team. To go along with that we have thrown money at Smith and Webb which has turned out very badly. We are making too many poor decisions on the personnel side. Now this year we have already made up our mind that we will let Osemele go.

Would never sell my tickets to a Steelers fan. I have no problem (how could I or anyone else) with others and what they do with their property. I just can't bring myself to do it, not to mention, Any Given Sunday ! Brent Urban just might knock Big Ben out of this one. That alone is worth the price of admission. :)

OTA's and such are chances to help get players in shape and evaluate where they are. it's voluntary for a reason though.

Bryn Renner is a QB who played well in the pre-season who cares. He'd never see the field after this season.

We threw money at jimmy smith after he played like a top 10 CB we didn't have a choice but TO pay him. (You don't let your best cornerback hit the market)

Webb took a paycut to stay with the team and is a solid CB.

We can't afford Osemele , The ravens shape the roster week by week as all teams to do.

The organization may have taken a different cue with the duty of managing the everyday team assignments crossing over into the roles of drafting and contracting. I don't think Oz has lost a step that other managers never even had.

their used to evaluate people yes we have let good players go but when you have the most players or ir and are so shallow in the depth charts those tool don't seem to help much

I wish we would have kept Bryn; I think he has real potential. But, if he can't get on the field with us, I am glad he is getting a chance with someone. The guy more than deserves a chance to play. Good Luck Bryn!

considering that we knocked the Steelers out of the playoffs last season at their place, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they clinch a playoff spot in Baltimore on Sunday.

This is when the team needs us the most! Throw the youngsters in there and let them feel the rush of this rivalry and don't hold back, play like we are 100% healthy and hit them squeelers in the jaw! The Defense will feed off it and do their best but the Offense is the nail in the coffin and the Defense is not to be depended on for now! SLING THAT ROCK! Big ben is not holding back so running up the middle is kool but points are needed and running won't get you 30pts or better! The no huddle is needed big time or just pass pass pass to get them off balance! "That Raven Pride"

Really? This is a question? The Ravens Fans(?) who have been disguised as empty seats this season will have their seats filled with towel waving Steelers Fans. It will feel like a Steelers home game. SAD.

you know those people who sell their tickets because we are having a bad season are not true ravens fans

This is not a true Ravens team besides how many times have we been told it's the "business " side of football. Same goes for fans. Get use to "bad" season because this is the first of many until Ozzie cleans up his mess.

In John Middlekauf's tweet he said that "Reed is a Badass" because he said the word "butt". But just before Reed said that, Boomer had just used the "B" word...on live TV. So I think that Reed getting all the fire is unfair. I was actually watching it last night live on NFL network.

Remember during the offseason when we all thought that we had just seen the best draft class for us in years.....I think the lesson we all learned was to not assume anything ever again until we see these guys play for at least half a season.

I think it will take a miracle for the Ravens to win this game. But I'm going to be there in case it happens. If it does, it will be euphoric. If not, well, we weren't really expected to win. But I'm ok with people selling their tix. They're expensive and Steeler fans may put a higher value on them. They're dollars are green, too. More than happy if Ravens fans relieve the Steelers fans of a few Jacksons so they can wave their little yellow towel-ettes (which is getting a little old, btw).

Tomlin is an buffoon, makes a lot of poor decisions about football plays, and couldn't be less insincere about loving the idea of clinching in Baltimore. But hey, at least he talks like a robot so everyone loves him.

Tomilin is what you want in a Head Coach. He respects the game, and the rivalry. It's our job to spoil end their season 2 years in a row.

Another mistake by the front office letting Renner get away i think that kid had real talent.....Biscotti better open his eyes soon or we'll be the bottom dwellers for a long long time!

It isn't all on Ravens fans to keep Steelers fans out of the stadium. Ticket brokers have thousands of Ravens tickets for sale and they could not care less who buys them. While fans may sell their tickets or even give them away, there is no way to prevent the opponent's fans from buying them. I sold mine to Ravens fans. But, it was not out of any sense of loyalty.

Real Ravens fans don't sell their tickets to those stinking Steeler fans. I don't care how green their money is, they are not welcomed in our house. Do you really want them taking over our house, for real people? How embarrassing that would be. Like the final dagger to the heart. The very thought of that sickens me more than losing the game to them.

I guess he was let go so "easily" because it was rather unlikely that he would be signed to an active roster - and even if he's signed to the practice squad of any team, Ozzie can sign off the PS to the Ravens active roster any time.

Mike Tomlin is funny. He is usually all business and he doesn't pull any punches. He seems like a great guy, just except for stepping near the field of play on JJ's return last year...otherwise I think he's a decent, smart football guy. I can't root for Pitt. against us, but if they wind up in the playoffs, just seeing how they play the game, normally, I don't mind seeing them put a whooping on N.E., for one. Give them a dose of AFC North Football. I really hate the Pats and if it's not Peyton bringing them down, it should be us or Pitt.! Going to be an exciting Playoff Season, this year! Get Psyched!

The Ravens are playing at M&T Bank Stadium Sunday, but will they have a true home-field advantage?

^ Ravens haven't had this the entire season...it won't start on Sunday!

the lesson that some still are learning is you cannot Judge a draft class based on 1 season and it takes time. Half of a season ? You judge a draft class 5 years down the road. This still very well could be one of the best draft classes in a long time, far too early to tell.
