[News] Third Quarterback Enters Ravens' Starter Competition

11 posts in this topic

WHat the heck difference does it make? A trio of castoff mediocre quarterbacks. Wow, who wouldn't get excited over that? Seriously? No matter which of thesee bozos starts, the Ravens are going to get slaughtered. They play a team which actually has an NFL calibur quarterback. Well, after losing the next two, we will get the number 3 pick in the draft.

If he has a grasp of the offense, I personally think we have our best chance at winning with Mallett.

Honestly how hard is it to learn, give the ball to the 3rd string RB, throw to Aiken, or throw to Juice?

That's basically our offense in a nutshell.

I still would have like to seen our preseason QB play but John and company know best that's why their 12-4..............I mean 4-12.

Clausen was better than I thought he would be. I would still go with Mallett - if we have any plans to actually compete on Sunday. Mallett offers much more potential for a surprise performance than Clausen. Don't get me wrong, even if Mallett had a great game, I still don't tink we'll have much of a chance - sadly, the stelers are currently much better than what we have left as the "active roster". But I feel Mallett at least has a chance to be the X-factor, while Clausen does not.

I don't care who throws the ball this Sunday. Just bring this agonizing season closer to an end. Start with Mallet finish with Clausen or visa versa. Then bring out the street cleaners to broom up the black feathers from the playing field. Following Sunday the same. Then shroud the coffin in black bunting for the funeral procession has reached the graveyard.

Think in perspective. Where this "QB-race" may prove to be very important is next season. Until this season we kinda took it for granted tha Flacco would be the QB, so noone really cared who the clipholder is... but that has changed. Just imagine, if we still had all our starters when Flacco went down... and our season went down the drain because of Schaub... Now, imagine Flacco goes down next season again - when we're asctually still in the playoff race... THAT is when this competition can make ALL the difference. Not this Sunday. Not next Sunday. Next season.

I hope Habaugh doesn't have to make excuses for performances next season. Right now the Ravens have the 3rd pick in the first round. Losing to the Steelers and Bengals may not be all bad, because they are going to lose.

Play Mallet... we know that Schaub will not be back and the more he plays... the more he costs us. We know that Claussen is not in our plans for next season... so why play this game? Mallet seems to be in our long term plans (and at least our back up of the future)... and Harbs said that 2016 starts now... so WHY WOULNDT WE see what Mallet has to offer and go into next year knowing exactly what we are working with?
