Billick Disappointed With T.smith Or The O-line?

12 posts in this topic

After T-Roy got blasted about 20 yards behind the line of scrimmage to end last night's pre-season game against NY, coach Billick seemed upset and could only shake his head in disgust.

My question: Who was he more disappointed with? Smith or the line?

While I still think Smith makes the team, I don't think he'll do much of anything in the NFL.

And this coming from a Smith / Ohio State supporter.

I think that Billick was fairly disappointed with the entire team, except perhaps Jarret Johnson. I don't think it was Smith per se. Actually, he looked improved over the first game and the scrimmage.

i agree, Billick wasnt Disapointed with Smith, from what he did, he played a Fairly well, i mean its not his fault that the defenders got into the the Back field and sacked him, he cant do anything about that kind of thing, thats a O-Lines job..keeping the defenders out of the back field, i think that Billick was Disapointed with the Entire team on that loss..including the First string Defense and the 1st string Offense, they clearly didnt play up to the Calibur that Billick and the Ravens Organization knows they are capable of playing by far......it was a disapointing loss for us all and you can surely bet that Billick will be on the gring in practice

i agree, Smith did better this time than last when others did worse, our defense looked sluggish and didnt have the same spunk it did last game. i think our first (and maybe second) string offense were testing their capabilities, as some of those throws were just stupid on any level (McNairs INT was right to the defender, Williams didnt have a chance). Some players did better than others but overall the team effort to get the win just wasnt there. I saw the O-line get beat, the D-line get manhandled, and our corners and safties miss plays and get beat. im not distressed about this loss because it humbles the team and now theres only one lthing left to do from here: learn from the film and get better.

Smith had a touchdown drive going if Cory Ross hadn't dropped that swing pass. I thought he looked great, but I want to see more rollouts because that is what he excels at.

I'd say the line, he's a rookie QB who doesn't get that many reps. Why would he blame him, it's a rookie mistake.

If I was Billick, I would be disappointed with the Offensive Line as a whole. They played extremely inconsistently the entire game. There were always defenders in the backfield on running plays (or whenever McGahee rushed).

But, it's only preseason. He shouldn't be too disappointed... yet...

Something he had to deal with in Buffalo. McGahee's definitely a guy that can hit a hole and make some yards, he just needs that hole. Something he wasn't getting recently in Buffalo, a lot of it because we were playing to protect Losman moreso.

personally i think Troy is doing a great job (with the playing time he's been given) he's shown its Mobility, Poise, leadership and so on...he'll develop into a great QB for us in the future, but for right now, he needs to learn from McNair and sharpen his skills.......

what is there to hate about Troy so much?......he's the Ohio State TD record holder (30 TD's) and he's done nothing but improve his playmaking skills since being drafted.....sure he looks like awkward at times but this IS his Rookie season and he is Learning the style and tempo of not only the NFL but also The Ravens as a whole, he's adjusting from the Ohio State Play book, to the Play Book of the Ravens.......i tell you now as i always do......give him time....be PATIENT.....you cant expect a ROOKIE to come in 1st first year and completely blaze the stage and Set Records.....lets get real here folks, would it be nice? heck yes it would!!!!! my house would be a complete wreck after each game if that was the case but lets all come back to reality here and Focus on the Maturity and Development of (hopefully) a Star Ravens QB
