You should know by now, that existing contracts won't allow ANY team to sign all of their free agents coming off their rookie deal.  This is a 32 team thing and not just a Ravens thing.

Despite what you might think, the Ravens have a great track record of players that we keep vs. players that we let go. Do you think Krugar was worth 45 mil?, Cary Williams worth 8 or 9 mil? Torrey Smith worth #1 receiver money? The answer is No. The salary cap makes it hard to keep a lot of players but most just price themselves out of Baltimore. I should add that McPhee is doing a really good job for Chicago, but we just flat out could not afford him.

Could not afford him because of spending on injured and overrated players.

I doubt Urban walks in two years... in that time span... Suggs and Doom should be off the books... then it comes down to who is more dominant by that time... Timmy or Brent you can't keep everyone... I like JB...been his #1 supporter since we signed him as a rookie free agent.. loved what I saw of him in College... nice hands and runs hard after the catch... stays steady.. doesn't show much emotion... even after a big play he gets up dusts himself off like he was supposed to make that play... really like him and Kamar...

Love Butler, hope he keeps growing and shows up to earn a spot on opening day roster next season, god knows he deserves it more than most other receivers we've got, *cough cough* Brown *cough cough*

I guess when we sign or resign them, we should make sure our crystal ball is working so we know that they will be injured.

"Youngsters"? Starting to sound like the Orioles when they were bad. "Come out and see the boys play." These are grown man that need to play like grown men.

Nice to know that Harbs thinks Smith will be a "dominate player in this league". Par for the course w/the writing on here. Maybe find a fifth grader to do some proofreading (?)

I said it when we drafted smith I had a feeling he be a better player in a year than bud Dupree.i think zadairius did the dirty work at KU while bud got the highlight plays.. I like smith but I feel like if Alvin was available we would've pulled the trigger. Imagine having both!

I know we have some dead money counting against the salary-cap, but it's sure frustrating when we keep saying we can't afford this guy or that guy, yet other teams, like Miami (time and time again) and others keep signing expensive players. I'm sure there's a reason they can afford some that we cannot, but it does get old quickly to keep reading that every year, Buffalo got a steal with Tyrod for a low sum of money, but I digress...

1, The only reason that Z SMiths sacks has come in bunches is bc we don't play the kid! When given chances he produces... and then we make him a healthy scratch???? Let the youngsters play! SMH 2. Brent Urban is better then Canty! 3. JRolle... I want to see more... The Chiefs don't have the Julio Jones and AJ Greens of he world but not bad with his first shot! Need a bigger sample. 4. I think that KClay can play.... glad to have him.... 5. JButler can be a quality back up in this league... but his ceiling is not much above what we saw this week. in fact... this is the exception not to be expected for JB... but glad he showed well. I want to see more of TBrooks and see more of a new DC!

Injures ruined the season for the Ravens. This team doesn't need a total overhaul, just a real deep retooling, there is young talent here, but they need more time.

Perriman and Maxx. Mosely and Jernigan was a pretty good draft.
Elam and Brown could still pan our but Brandon Williams from that draft has really been worth a top pick.
Upshaw and KO, I'd say that was another good year.
Jimmy Smith and Torrey Smith weren't bad at all as a matter of fact pretty darn good. Both are starters.
Kindle got hurt, no way Ozzie could forsee that one coming.
And earlier we got Flacco and Ray Rice. Both excellent picks.

Kaelin Clay has earned the returner job in my opinion, he's explosive. A lot to learn, but I'm happy to see him back there.

On Za'Darius Smith - he's not very visible in every game he plays (yet), but he was impressive in Pittsburgh and was great to watch against Kansas City too. Since I didn't get to watch or play football until I was about 25, I'm not that great with evaluating players in any manner close to experienced, but what stands out to me is the way he uses his arms. Dude, what's your wingspan? :o Whenever I see him on a tackle or a sack, what I notice is, that he can take a guy down just by stretching his arms out in the right direction and he's good with using them. Of course, he'll get better as he learns to get in the right place with all of his body, so that he can wrap players up, but any tackle is better than no tackle and if he's skilled at using his length and reach to get to players, I'm down with that.
