Who falls to us?

176 posts in this topic

Just read a report that Josh Docston has broken his wrist. Not sure what the recovery time is with something like this..and not even sure if he would have been on our radar but it's possible this could effect a guy like Boyd falling to us.

If both Bosa and Tunsil are miraculously available when we pick, who do we choose and why?

It really depends on what we do in FA. I'm willing to bet if we don't sign a LT, then we will lean towards Tunsil, but even if we do I can't rule us out picking him either. That's a helluva tough decision to make for our Front office, I'd hate to be the guy who has to make that choice. Our defense suffered without a pass rush. Right now, I would say Tunsil will be our pick.

bosa could play in our current system as it is and would be the most disruptive player on the field.

You seem very high on Bosa! Obviously you must have watched film on this guy. So, explain why you think he'll be the most disruptive force on a field that may include Suggs, Doom, B. Williams and Jernigan?

Because he beat up his stepdad to protect his mom?? And then he turned himself in to the police? Idk I don't think we should pass someone up for doing what is right. We'll obviously do our homework with him, but that sounds more like the type of guy I'd want on my team.

Tbh i didnt do my research before i said that and i read about it later and realized i need to look into things more before i say it lol. But ya i totally agree and know where hes coming from.

because bosa is just more of a force up front. he may not be the most explosive athlete, he may not be the most agile pass rusher, but it is incredible the way he just crashes his side of the line with ease, its like hes knocking over bowling pins just making his way into the backfield by brute force but still has an impressive amount of agility to go with that violent play style, he also has the pass rush moves as he does more than just shove guys around, he really surprises blockers how quickly he can swim and break the rush to the inside, he can take the outside because of his jump and strength alone, his rip move is very impressive, the guy is just a game wrecker.

am i saying he can play OLB as in drop into coverage? nah, and do i care? not at all lol. you dont take your most dominant pass rusher and try to make him defend the pass. a problem many edge rushers have is run defense, but bosa wrecks the run game as well, if an edge defender can do 2 out of 3 at a high level then he can be a starter for the ravens i believe. let him crash the line against the run, let him get to the qb on 3rd down, dont worry about getting creative with the guy.

The biggest reason I think people are down on Bosa this year is because his numbers are down. He's facing triple teams this year. That simply can't be done in the NFL when you have to worry about everyone else. Plus a rotation of him, Suggs, and Doom would have fresh legs on the field and be ridiculous

you also have to consider that he was used in a 1 dimensional way last year, he dominated the ncaa, got a championship, he all but sealed the deal for a top 5 pick, and he really is playing it smart by working on rounding out his game and playing smarter in his final year, i have no issue with it at all and i know the kid has a motor and im not gonna doubt him, some say he is taking a year off but really it is a ton of factors at play and many of the reasons for his lesser production i find commendable.

Gotcha. Ya we'll have to check out the validity of the whole thing, but it sounds like that's what happened. Edited by ravefan52

That's the first thing that comes up when you Google "Laremy Tunsil domestic violence". I don't like to take it at face value when a player has their charges dropped (quite a few reasons that stem more from me being dubious about the justice system when it comes to that kind of charge), but it sounds like that particular incident isn't a huge red flag.

i agree. Doesn't seem to be a big deal. The bigger worry to me would be his health, he just looks weird out there with those 2 knee braces and it scares me lol

reasons?

Probably because he's a better fit for our defense as of right now but Bosa is versatile and athletic enough to do what's asked of him. Plus you center the defense around a player like him instead of forcing him in a specific scheme.

I just feel like Buckner is only a tad more developed than Armsted was last year, and that scares me. We have plenty of D-Line depth and could develop him, but with a pick that high you want immediate impact which is something I don't see from him. At least not to the level of Bosa

pees will most likely be gone this offseason which could result in implementing a new scheme.

I agree. Love him, hate him, or simply don't care, I can't see how he survives this season. A 4-12, 5-11, or 6-10 season ultimately causes people to lose their jobs. Caldwell was "taken" from us after our offense had a very poor year and it also saw the exodus of many position coaches, such as Montgomery, Hostler, and others. While some left due to legitimate offers (i.e. Austin) most didn't.

People will be gone after this year imo. Position coaches and a coordinator. Trestman's unit played surprisingly well despite adversity while Pees' unit was without question the weak link. Not to absolve the offense's failures, mind you. We failed to convert position to points, but we all know where we're weak on the team.

Pees is gone.

supposedly. I think he may have said that just to show people how commited he was to the colts and was trying not to get fired. And a offer from the Ravens could be something that changes his mind. Kubiak said he wasn't taking any job offers either...until Denver came calling.

Boom. Well that was an interesting turn of events. 2 score game now. We just might have that third spot locked up in the bag!

Edit: wow , spoke too soon. Referees ruin football. And he misses the feild goal. 10 points taken away. We really are cursed if they lose this game. I'm passed convinced.

Thoughts on Joe Schuobert as a possible 3rd rounder? He's a very versatile linebacker, can play edge, cover, plays the run well, athletic, disciplined, and seems like a quiet leader type of guy, fundamentally sound as well, plays very clean and tight with no wasted motion, just seems like a guy who would be great to come in and just find himself a role in the future. I think he's a guy that would have a breakout season in year 3 or 4 and become a very good player
