[News] Breakdown: Eisenberg's Five Thoughts vs. Chiefs

84 posts in this topic

Players get fined by the league for personal fouls...Jernigan lost some cash. Fumbles are free so Allen only lost playing time. Besides it was good to see what our other backs could do. On another note, the decision to fake a punt in that situation was pretty stupid. Why would you put our punter in harms way for a play that had very little chance of working and would only give us a first down around the 21 yd line if by some miracle did work. Also I was wondering where I see that atrocious color that was our pants. Then I remembered the movie The Exorcist where the possessed girl spewed that greenish yellowish soup on the priest.

"All in all, for a team playing with it's 4th string players, the Ravens looked good today. Shows the coaching is sound. When the 1st string comes back next year they ought to be a force to be reckoned with."

Not really playing with a lot of 4th strings on the defense. Still the defense is the most disappointing part of this team.

Not necessarily when dean pees mans up and puts some confidence in playing cover 2 and cover 1 we excel. But dean pees gunna dean pees

Im glad we lost this game. were not playing for nothing, its already the worse season in franchise history. All were playing for is draft position. Lets loose out and get a top 5 draft pick. Which wont be hard, judging by this team of soft players ozzies put together

What type of fan is this?

Thank God this season is over :)

oh but wait until next week when Pittsburgh offense comes to town.. There pretty good...

The only reason I watch the games now is for the young players, I like seeing the talent our future starters have. Its inspiring to see these guys fight so hard for such a lost season. 2/3 of our team is a backup... Sad

Two quick points:

(1) We have been losing the turn over battle horribly all year and it has cost us all of our games. We give away dumb turnovers where you just scratch your head and wonder why. Plus, we can't force any. No interceptions and no forced fumbled.....I wonder why

(2) These dumb penalties are getting excessive, particularly Jernigan's. I like him as a player, but he has on multiple occasions blamed QBs way too late, he needs to be pulled aside and taught that it costs us games! just look at the freaking Oakland game!

It's absolutely surprising that our offense is still putting up yards though

Harbaugh "sends a message"? After his team losing for the 10th time he "sends a message"? What a load of crap. Harbaugh is the problem He has lost control of his team. These failures are lack of discipline and lack of leadership. This is not a one year blip. Between Harbaugh and Newsome, who has made some of the stupidset draft choices imaginable since 2009, Bisciotti needs to clean house, starting at the top.

People people...your still sweating this season..14 games in. Let me guess you guys think the Ravens can still make the playoffs or win the SB????

Its over, its been over. Hate it or love it, I hope they lose out...get that 1st pick.

Draft Joey Bosa...the transcendent DE/OLBr we need to be our next franchise cornerstone on Defense.

Or maybe Oz decides to trade it and get a 3 for 1 type deal, 4 for 1 type deal like Rams

got.

But Im not sweating these last couple games... Im looking forward to next season, Im looking forward to Joes contract restructure, Tucker getting resigned Sr possibly returning... and the draft.

Where we need Pass rush and Linebackers (Atleast 2 and Probably 3) Reasons..Art Brown failure, D.Smith getting older, Upshaw free agency, No HOF Trascendent Pass rusher outside aging Suggs, (Need atleast 1, probably 2)WRs, (1 or 2)G/OT depending on KO..Monroe situation, DBs(atleast 1, probably 2)

My one takeaway:

I didn't see anything of the game because those mustard pants burned my retina :(

(Boy... watching the Ravens with so many of the starters missing felt close to like watching a pre-season game; watching the Ravens with so many starters missing and no chance of the playoffs felt exactly like watching a pre-season game; watching the Ravens with so many starters missing, no playoff ramifications, no sellout crowd AND yellow pants felt like watching a pre-season game - of another team...

I'm afraid next Sunday it's gonna feel like watching a training session... )

We were hanging with KC early on but the Jernigan "mistake" opened pandoras box.

I was really impressed that we were actually out moving KC in the 1st qtr but then things went wrong. That's the most frustrating part that we can look so good at times and so bad at others. The good news is that if Harbaugh can get this kind of play out of a very young and very old roster, says something in itself. The next couple seasons are going to be very interesting.

If Clausen gives us the best chance to win (and he does), start him against Pittsburgh. Just one more victory this season, boys! After that, start Mallett against Cincy to see what he has.

My thoughts: 1. Marc trestman needs to go. At the beginning of the season, there was an article stating that he would not abandon the run game. However, we aren’t even in the top 20 for rushing attempts per game (25th in the league). In this game and in many other games, our top rusher didn’t even have 10 carries. Ravens football is running the ball, we have one of the best run blocking o-lines in football and we aren’t using that to our advantage. We are averaging 42 passing attempts per game (4th in the league) and we don’t have the weapons in the passing game for us to average that much. Because of us passing so much this season, it could be argued that there was too much workload on Steve smith and flacco’s part which is why they could have gotten injured. If you look at the games we won, we ran the ball effectively in all of them and in the games we lost, we threw the ball 40 times. Joe Flacco is most effective when he throws the ball 30-35 times a game and rushes the ball approximately the same number of times, which is why he was most effective in kubiak’s scheme. In 2014, we were 11th in rushing attempts per game and mid 17th in passing attempts per game, and Joe flacco played outstanding in that season. Marc trestman needs to learn how to use the run game to his advantage or else we need to find a new offensive coordinator. I don’t care if it will be his 5th offensive coordinator in 5 seasons or whatever the number will be, if we can find a offensive coordinator to make flacco what he was in 2014, we should leave marc trestman. 2. Dean pees needs to go. We have the talent on defence, but if we are going t play prevent defence and still give up 20 yards plays and also having no turnovers, the blame will have to him. The players do deserve blame, but I feel that we need a change in coordinator (pagano) to bring us back to a ravens defence. 3. We are getting better with the penalties (comparing it to the beginning of the year), but stupid personal fouls keep hurting us and will continue to cost us.

completely agree with you!

I actually think Clausen has played pretty decent considering whats around him. He has earned the chance to come in next year and compete with Mallet for the backup role.

1. We are not near the top in rushing attempts for a huge reason. WE ARE ALWAYS BEHIND IN GAMES. When you are behind you do not run the ball. Don't blame Trestman for this. Pees needs to adjust his defenses to his talent, he no longer has Ray Lewis covering the entire middle of the field himself and Ed Reed patrolling deep. We have to play with the talent we have.. Not what with worked in the past. 3. I think that Jernigan penalty was a bit over-exaggerated by the commentators it wasn't that late but a penalty nevertheless. Still love how the Chiefs jumped offsides and they called it against us that one time. But the officials weren't as bad this game as others. Doesn't help that now the season is over and we are preparing for next year.

Clausen played well with what was around him... But I wonder if he will be on the roster next year. We usually only carry two quarterbacks. I wonder if we will now carry three because of Joe's injury. I think we already invested a lot into Mallett cap-wise I hope that he plays as well as we payed for him.

What happened? At the start of the training camp, I remember vividly that creating turnovers were a high priority! Keep in mind, our secondary hasn't been afflicted with injuries like the rest of the team.

So, what is the excuse really? Players not talented enough? Schemes not creative enough? Or Defense never lucky enough for turnovers?

If one were to be honest, the secondary coaching and entire coordinating of our defense has to be overhauled for next year. Not winning the turnover battle in any given year is bad enough for any team, but for the 'Baltimore Ravens' it is close to being 'blasphemous'!!

This team is so badly coached that KC ran the same play Ravens could not stop with Seattle with success.

Is it the coaches job to stop it or the players? Which one of them is wearing the helmets and the pads?

You're right about Aiken. All of the teams we're playing now are playing for playoff spots and Aiken is putting up good numbers against good players. Problem with the Ravens is not the O. It's the D. Not a single playmaker out there. When you get thrown against as often as the Ravens do and never get an int, it's because the DB's aren't aggressive and never near the ball.

fire pees, castillo and the secondary coaches. no identity or intensity from the defense anymore. this defense used to strike fear into opposing offenses and they need to get their swagger back but it will not happen under pees.

For anyone calling for Trestman's head: try baking a cake without water, eggs, sugar, butter, chocolate and flour - and then see what you can do without the necessary ingredients...

... and how you react when someone says you're a lousy cook.

hopefully the tyrod taylor talk will stop now

Well, I don't think we should argue with anyone who thinks we had any kind of a chance to retain Tyrod... I mean "Hey, Tyrod, we can't offer you nearly the kind of money other teams do, but if you stay in Baltimore, you can possibly go on holding the clipboard for who knows how much longer!

Which young aspiring QB wouldn't take the deal right away??? :D

Only one thing matters right now: Beat Pittsburgh! Make NBC regret taking us out of primetime, make this game a show. Beat Pittsburgh, beat Pittsburgh, beat #$%#$&% PITTSBURGH! I know this Ravens team is angry enough to leave it all on the field next week. I'm fired up about it, I'll worry about the draft next Monday.

Kendrick Lewis is awful. Clausen is the #2 guy next year. Everyone that is advocating for Forsette to be cut-not happening. As soon as the FO realizes Jimmy Smith is just a spare then they can rebuild that abomination called a secondary. Jeremy Butler, Brown and Aiken will be a great 3, 4 and 5 next year. The Chiefs were toying with the Ravens in the second half they knew they couldn't move the ball nor stop them on third down. There isnt a guy on the defense that can cover pretty much any TE in the NFL. Pees watched the Chiefs march down the field for 79 yards and chew up over 7 minutes by playing a generic base defense just like he does every week a la 3 man rush Mattison
