[News] Breakdown: Eisenberg's Five Thoughts vs. Chiefs

Fourth and nine at the Baltimore seventeen always, always, and let me emphasize this again with big always fake punt. As the announcer said Koch needed to run 21 yards because he's backed up a dozen to punt. Odds of a successful outcome? Sample size too small to calculate with any accuracy. You call that aggressive? Hmmm.

Glad you called Allen's fumble for what it was especially since it was the second one in two weeks. Benching him was the right thing to do. You MUST hold on to the football!

Aiken looked strong today.

All in all, for a team playing with it's 4th string players, the Ravens looked good today. Shows the coaching is sound. When the 1st string comes back next year they ought to be a force to be reckoned with.

I hope you are right.

They make mistakes from lack of discipline from the head coach not doing his job....he's just such a nice guy though.....smh.. He's looking more and more unemployed every game.....

They're grown men getting paid millions. If you need another adult to tell you not to hit guys late, then the lack of discipline is 100% the players problem, not the coaches.

My takes: Aiken is a golden find, keep him a Raven! Clausen is the QB backup of the future. Even Though the Ravens lost I saw some awesome plays out there! Defense needs discipline with these stupid penalties. The fake punt was...too gutsy, bordered on dumb move, but 4-10, it is what it is. GO RAVENS!

I thought we were down 7-14 when we went for that supremely risky 4th down fake punt right? Were we actually down 7-21? Because they did score a TD on that drive and we were down 24-14 at the half. Maybe I am mistaken, but at 7-14 and us being back in our own territory gives me pause. Did Harbaugh believe we were 7-21 at that time?

WTH was up with the "Mustard Yellow" pants?!?

I have steeler fans telling me "now all you need is the black jerseys to look just like us".

C'mon guys... the product on the field has been hard enough to watch, and now you add THIS!?! In the future, before making another uniform change, I suggest using a focus group that isn't filled with drunk steeler fans.

Not really playing with a lot of 4th strings on the defense. Still the defense is the most disappointing part of this team.

Jimmy smith is so soft. Theres no way hes our top corner, sad. No fight. I wish we had a josh norman on this team someone that will get in someones face and play with some attitude. But john doesn't like those type of players in his looker room unfortunately.. he likes these soft, fragile soft spoken guys that cant stay on the field. smh

My thoughts:

1. Marc trestman needs to go. At the beginning of the season, there was an article stating that he would not abandon the run game. However, we aren%u2019t even in the top 20 for rushing attempts per game (25th in the league). In this game and in many other games, our top rusher didn%u2019t even have 10 carries. Ravens football is running the ball, we have one of the best run blocking o-lines in football and we aren%u2019t using that to our advantage. We are averaging 42 passing attempts per game (4th in the league) and we don%u2019t have the weapons in the passing game for us to average that much. Because of us passing so much this season, it could be argued that there was too much workload on Steve smith and flacco%u2019s part which is why they could have gotten injured. If you look at the games we won, we ran the ball effectively in all of them and in the games we lost, we threw the ball 40 times. Joe Flacco is most effective when he throws the ball 30-35 times a game and rushes the ball approximately the same number of times, which is why he was most effective in kubiak%u2019s scheme. In 2014, we were 11th in rushing attempts per game and mid 17th in passing attempts per game, and Joe flacco played outstanding in that season. Marc trestman needs to learn how to use the run game to his advantage or else we need to find a new offensive coordinator. I don%u2019t care if it will be his 5th offensive coordinator in 5 seasons or whatever the number will be, if we can find a offensive coordinator to make flacco what he was in 2014, we should leave marc trestman.

2. Dean pees needs to go. We have the talent on defence, but if we are going t play prevent defence and still give up 20 yards plays and also having no turnovers, the blame will have to him. The players do deserve blame, but I feel that we need a change in coordinator (pagano) to bring us back to a ravens defence.

3. We are getting better with the penalties (comparing it to the beginning of the year), but stupid personal fouls keep hurting us and will continue to cost us.

You really think Harbaugh went, in one season, from being one of the winningest coaches in the NFL, to an ineffective coach who can't enforce discipline in his players?  No.  This team is an example of what can happen in the NFL due to player attrition, salary cap issues, injuries, and some draft picks just not working out (could ANYONE have foreseen the Perriman debacle??). Some of the draft picks appear to be plain stupid (sorry, but Timmy Jernigan has done the same stupid things time and again...some players never learn).  Harbaugh has kept this team motivated and hard-working in the face of some unimaginable odds.  Not that he is perfect, but what coach is?  We'll be lucky if he stays.  Or doesn't have a heart attack from the stress.

"Reid kept the Ravens Elvis Dumervil from registering either a sack or a quarterback hit. Most in Baltimore probably can imagine Reid as the answer to any question but to his great credit that he kept working hard as he struggled here. That hard work has paid off." So how come his hard work did not pay off here? Is it better coaching that allowed Jah Reid to hold off Doom?

Those gold pants were anything but Golden. Please, no more. At least we can't blame Murphy's law on those pants. They brought that on themselves.:)

Pretty sure I saw that Norman is a FA this offseason. Not that it matters because like you said this team doesn't want guys that play like that anymore.

Im glad we lost this game. were not playing for nothing, its already the worse season in franchise history. All were playing for is draft position. Lets loose out and get a top 5 draft pick. Which wont be hard, judging by this team of soft players ozzies put together

It doesnt matter because its not like the panthers arent going to resign him... and even if they didnt knowing ozzie he wouldnt pay him enough to come here because hes put all of our money into the D and O line other than flacco

To let Jernigan play and bench Allen is so inconsistent. I actually like harbs, but to be inconsistent like that really aggravates me.

Jernigan was benched as well. Just not for whole game.
