I hope we at least somehow make this a good game. Ravens-Steelers is still the greatest rivalry in the NFL to me, and the Week 4 game was able to live up to that. Win or lose, let's not make things easy for them; I'd like nothing more than a sweep of the Steelers to highlight a bad year. If not, at least we have our first victory over them and the second Browns game.

Whatever the number is for most points allowed in a game by our franchise, add 10 to that number and that's my prediction.

1) Refs make a series of bad calls against the STEELERS

2) Antonio Brown has to go to the bathroom really bad in the second quarter and stays there until the fourth quarter

3) Injuries...not going there even with the STEELERS

4) Every time Ben goes deep, a strong wind comes from nowhere and deflects the pass

5) The 10,000 Ravens fans that actually go to the game make the noise of 70,000 and make it hard for the STEELERS offense to operate

6) And the Ravens 3rd string actually scores a TOUCHDOWN!!!

What are the realistic odds that the Ravens beat the Steelers and the Jets beat the Patriots?

I would say under 5%.

There is nothing I would love more than to knock the Steelers out of the playoffs but the probability of that happening is slim and dim with either Clausen or Schaub under center. Neither knows what its like to be in a Ravens - Steelers game. It will be a rather rude awakening for either of them. With Joe throwing to a group of total novice receivers, we at least had a chance to win. Without Joe, we have a snowball's chance in a furnace to win. However, there are three ways we can possibly win. First, we wear the black jerseys and gold pants to make ourselves look like the Steelers; this will confuse the helmetless motorcycle riding Steelers QB and he will throw the balls into the waiting hands of our marvelous secondary. Secondly, if we hit Big Ben over the head with Ryan's Mallett and force him into concussion protocol, the Steelers' backup QB will make it a level playing field.  Finally, we need to deflate Pittsburgh's footballs. Apparently, there is no penalty in the NFL for doing so. I know this strategy sounds extreme but its a better game plan than faking a punt from your own 17 yard line on a 4th down and 9 yards to go in the first half when you're trailing by only 14-7. Seriously though, I have a feeling this one will get real ugly very quickly.

I know it would hurt our draft position, but I would LOVE to see us win this game. It would give me a lot of trolling power over Steelers fans, not to mention its not too let to get some respect from other teams, e.g. New York Jets and K.C Chiefs.

I'm in the same position I was in ahead of the past game against the Browns. Intellectually I want us to lose because long-term it's better to go 4-12 and get the better pick than to go 5-11 with a season we're always going to shudder about recalling. But it just feels dirty to root for a loss - especially to the Steelers. Losing to the Chiefs or Seahawks is one thing, but sweeping the Steelers would be a fantastic consolation for the season we're having.

 

The reality is that I'm probably just going to watch this game in the same way I saw that Browns game - just watch it for the sake of the game and have something beneficial come out of it either way.
