Desperation. They lost their shot at the post-season already so all they had left to lose was the game... which, of course, they were already doing.

 

And to play devil's advocate: the ST might be the strength of this team so it could have seemed like they stood the best chance of making a play.

 

But really, just desperation.

He actually came in for one snap. Sad to see Harbaugh not evaluate the young guys today though. I'm done with whatever Harbaugh says. It never is the truth. Also, it was sad to see Jimmy go down in a pointless game. Hopefully no more injuries in this debacle of a season.
