To you and the other 10,.. I beg to differ, the Browns have NOT sucked forever! They beat our Baltimore Colts in 1964,... They were powerhouses with Jim Brown LeRoy Kelly, Ozzie Newsome and more!

Every team has been good at one point I'm lying when I'm saying that... But how far ago was that? Did they ever win anything besides with Jim brown.... As I remember they always choked or had bad misfortune or just plain sucked

I mean its dependent on situation.

 

From what I'm reading regarding Reid, the three year extension largely means nothing. He's basically been a backup who fills in for injured players, and by all accounts, he hasn't been that good either. He's versatile, but not really great at any position. The guaranteed money is low, so he's basically only guaranteed a roster spot for one season. He's getting paid as a swing tackle.

 

Oher is a bit complicated. He's performed well in Carolina, but he was a disaster in Tennessee... so what does that mean? Honestly, don't know. 

 

Everybody looks at these extensions as signs of great play. Oher got a 4 year contract at $20M just last offseason with Tennessee, and he gets cut after one season. Same thing could easily happen to Jah Reid for all we know.

 

I don't think either of these guys are upgrades on anything we have.

Yeah, specifically on Oher - I wasn't stating it as an indictment on our coaching staff or anything ... it is just a bit frustrating.

The BALTIMORE Colts beat the Giants in the "Greatest Game yadda yadda" but our biggest rivalries, year in and out, were between us and the Packers and the Browns, That only changed when the AFC forced the merger!

Those of us who are still around look on those days as classic times of 'real football'.

Today's game isn't bad, don't get me wrong. I'm in favor of the changes that make a difference in player safety but the powers-that-be have embraced high scores and more offense and IMHO that takes away a great deal from the game!

I thought I'd reached Nirvana the year of the first Raven Superbowl - winning games w/o scoring TDs, based on the ferocious play of the defense and the prowess of our Special Teams when the Oh was on a low!

I've seen Jim Brown, Jim Kelly, Bernie Kosar and other great Browns' players including Ozzie Newsome! You're basing your opinion on a small sample or repeating what you've heard others say is my point!

And I know this... Y'all act like I don't know our history we were the colts they moved to Indy and during the mid 90s we got the browns franchise along with Ozzie and a couple other dudes and called it the Baltimore ravens. Yes they have been good but with stuff like the drive and red right 88 people are under the assumption that even when they don't suck Cleveland sports will always have some type of taint on them
