Week 15 Discussion (Other Teams)

266 posts in this topic

We are down to the final three weeks of the 2015 season. While most teams are still trying to win their divisions or clinch a playoff spot, Head Coaches are now battling for their job before the dreadful Black Monday on Jan 4th. Oh what a wonderful time of the year indeed.

The ONE behind the ONE in 1-15?

Panthers @ Giants: After almost losing in New Orleans, the Panthers shut out the Falcons a week later in dominating fashion. Now they face the team who was the ONE behind the ONE in 18-1. Carolina can clinch the number one seed with a win and Cardinals loss.

The NFC LEAST

Jets @ Cowboys: The Cowboys can still win their pitiful division and the Jets are one of three teams vying for the two AFC Wild Card spots. Hopefully the Jets put Dallas out of their misery and we don't have to hear about them still winning the division anymore.

Bills @ Redskins: The Bills are imploding under Rex Ryan, and it hasn't even been a full year yet. The Redskins stay on top of this three way battle with the Giants and Eagles.

Cardinals @ Eagles: Chip Kelly has gone from fired to potential playoff spot. The Eagles are playing much better and Arizona is looking to clinch a first round bye with a Packers loss.

Playoff Implications:

Titans @ Patriots: I'm not sure how they end up with the weakest SOS each year but man, this is a gimme for New England. If the Broncos lose, the Patriots clinch a first round bye.

Broncos @ Steelers: Brock Osweisler gets his first taste of Pittsburgh when they visit the Steelers. After losing to Oakland, they again find themselves trying to clinch the AFC West. Unfortunately they need a Chiefs loss and win to do so... sorry Broncos. Steelers meanwhile look to stay in the AFC North race. Broncos clinch a playoff spot with a win.

Bengals @ 49ers: A Steelers loss to the Broncos would clinch the AFC North for the Bengals. Losing to Blaine Gabbert means the North can't be won for another week but they can clinch a playoff spot with a win, or a Jets loss or Chiefs loss.

Browns @ Seahawks: Poor Arizona. All they want to do is clinch the NFC West but Seattle's schedule won't let them do so. Last week they played us when Arizona could have clinched with a Ravens win. Now the Cardinals have to wait another week because the Browns are next on Seattle's schedule. Seahawks can clinch a playoff spot with a win, Bucs loss and Giants loss.

Packers @ Raiders: The Packers can't clinch the NFC North yet but the Raiders can make it more difficult to do so by beating the Pack. Packers can clinch a playoff spot with a win.

Bears @ Vikings: Even if the Packers could clinch the NFC North, the way the Bears have been lately, it wouldn't have happened. Anyway, the Vikings have a chance to clinch a playoff spot but needs some other things to happen along with a win.

The Dirty South(AFC Edition)

Texans @ Colts: No Andrew Luck, no Brian Hoyer so the Colts present the Backup Bowl. They have been playing monkey see, monkey do with each other in recent weeks. One team loses, the other loses. One team wins, the other wins. Now only ONE of them can win, or hell this might just end in a tie.

Falcons @ Jaguars: The Falcons got shut out by Carolina and their secondary was torched by future MVP Cam Newton. It doesn't get any better as Blake Bortles has a 10-1 TD-INT ratio in his last three games. A win by Jacksonville keeps them in the hunt but a loss might just end their hope depending on what Houston and Indy does in the last two weeks of the season.

I think it's safe to say the Colour Rush experiment this year has been rather a mixed bag.

Does anyone care about this game outside of Bucs fans who are hoping they win and stay in the wild card hunt?

Ok maybe Rams fans considering this could be the last home game for the Rams in St. Louis before they move to LA?

I love both of'em! Sweet!

Wonder what the Ravens color rush uni color would have been (i.e. black or purple)?

I'm hoping Nike does this again next year and we happen to have a late Thursday Night Game so I can see what our Color Rush jerseys would look like.

It's like the Hot Dog Race at Camden Yards meets the NFL. All we need is though Green Jets Color rush jerseys and we could have Mustard vs Ketchup vs Relish Football Style!

The Rams remind me of the 49ers before Jim Harbaugh, so talented yet didn't have the coaching to take advantage of their talent. It's a shame they are going to keep Jeff Fisher around for 2016, they really would benefit from a new coaching staff or at least one that can take advantage of the talent on their team.

I'd go with either and use the striping in the other color.

The Bucs had a 2 point conversion but it was negated by a holding penalty so they settle for the XP. Bucs cut the lead to 28-13.

I want to see the Bills and Jets play on Christmas Day next year.

Looks like this TD won't matter. Bucs shouldn't get the ball back since there is 1:34 left on the clock and they have no timeouts.

Well at least St. Louis fans got to see the Rams win their final home game before they move to LA.

Random fun fact:

Behind only Beckham, Landry has the 2nd most catches in NFL history, throughout first 2 seasons.

One of my fav non-Ravens. Crazy crazy 14 class. Wish it was this year.

I wanted Landry that year, we all knew Beckham will be out of our range.

Decker injured, and it looked painful. Why do telecasts insist on replaying injuries in slow motion and close up?

Turned out much better than it looked.

And they finally bench Cassel. He is absolutely terrible. Too bad for DAL that they don't have anyone better to put in.

Yeah, I hate Decker but it's good to see it wasn't that bad. It still bugs me when broadcasters zoom in on stuff like a guy getting his ankle twisted.

I'm surprised by how well the Cowboys are running the ball against this Jets front. I thought even the Cowboys OL would struggle to push the Jets around, but they're doing a solid job of it. Hopefully that continues, because I want them to move out of our 4-9 zone.

And as much as I hate their fans and the disproportionate media obsession over them and think Jerry's an idiot, they've got a really admirable model going atm: build an explosive offence with a good QB, good WR and dominant OL, and settle for a couple of defensive playmakers who can get a few key stops. I'd like to see us build like that for the future.

I forgot about the Jets/Cowboys game being on tonight. Guess I caught it in time, another prime time going down to the wire.

Hey Phil, the Cowboys getting the game tied or getting the lead and the defense making mistakes.... that's also the story of the Ravens season but hey only the Cowboys have had it happen to them.
