OzzieBisciotti, if you are in agreement with Preston then you need to rethink what ever it is you two are in agreeing on.

Jerry Rosberg has been incredibly impressive operating his special teams units. The rest of this team looks like it is in shambles, but he has led the best special teams unit in the league. I have noticed that Koch and Tucker seem to have different style of kicks, and that we try to kick away from guys, but I had no idea how many problems Koch was creating for punt returners.

Schaub does not seem to have the arm strength to drive the ball outside the hash marks or down field with accuracy. He appears to quickly be approaching retirement day. Clausen is okay and did a couple of good things last week: (1) he was able to execute the no-huddle with decent results and he did a reasonably good job at changing protections (and plays at times) at the line. Because he was rusty and new to this offense (this is not the same offense he ran in Chicago under Tresman), his miscues were understandable. The inaccuracy (high) has to improve and his recognition at the line has to be sharpened. I would like to see Clausen start against KC and possibly get Mallet (if he's ready) in there against the Steelers.

Ryan Mallet is trash. Matt Schaub is a washed up pick 6 machine. I like Clausen finishing this season for us, but that is it. We are going to have a ton of draft picks this year. Draft a QB in the 4th or 5th round! Start grooming another guy under Flacco. Mallet had DeAndre Hopkins and got benched for Brian Hoyer because he was so trash, and then cut because he was irresponsible trash. "Will our patience in him payoff like it did with Will Hill?" NO. Will Hill was a beast in New York before he came here. Ryan Mallet hasn't been a beast since he was in college.

Look I know we want a guy who can come in and try to win a a few games if Flacco goes down for a couple of weeks, but if Flacco is down for the season our season is done with any of the backups we have right now. Flacco is so tough that honestly he is either knocked out for the season from a critical injury, or not knocked out at all. Ask Tyrod, whom even if we still had, would want to leave because he wanted a chance to be the starter, which he could never have had here, it was never about the money! Don't waste our limited cap space on these trash QB's. Draft one in the middle rounds with one of our 4th round comp picks.

Preston is one of the few Baltimore sports writers who writes it like it is. No, He's not John Steadman nor maybe Bob Maisel sports beat writer of the 60's 70's, but Preston is old school, voices his own opinion give a damn. He takes a lot of heat. Unlike our renowned bloggers, he doesn't ride the rail nor tat lace. Keep it up Big Mikey.

The Ravens should take a long look at Dac Prescott of Miss.St. if he is available in the 4 or 5th round. He is a strong armed, mobile quarterback who could be a good backup. Mallett is undependable , Clausen and Schaub wont be here.

Do they not learn? 3mil to schaub and 1 mil of that will count against the cap next year and now 1.5 to mallet who isn't even worth a roster spot, why wouldn't they give Renner the opportunity? He played pretty good in training camp, since we're holding try outs for next year might as well explore CHEAPER options at back up QB #IsThisSeasonOverYet

What makes you think that a QB that will be around until the End of the 4th rd will have more talent than Mallett? We can hold his immature actions with the Texans against him forever, Or, we can give the man the second chance that Everybody deserves to prove he's learned from his mistakes. Nobody is perfect and has not made Any mistakes in their lives. If None of us were ever given second chances, what kind of world would this be? Mallett has enough talent to be one of the best backups QBs in the league, and could probably start for Some teams in this league. He just had maturity problems that surfaced in a poorly handled situation by the Texans. Let's give him that second chance and get behind him, instead of ripping him to shreds on here, shall we? Like it or not, he IS a Raven now. I thought that we were supposed to give support to All our players.

Oz made a huge mistake by letting Tyrod go. I think Tyrod stays for a guarantueed $1m/season. Now we're dealing with Clausen and Mallet? For real? Come on man!

What's the difference? Tyrod isn't a long-term starter here, so we would just be a better, non-playoff team.

So you pay Tyrod and we get a worse draft pick with no playoff appearance. Where's the upside?

I know that the game ending, and game winning, play was the most exciting play us Raven fans have had this whole season. Of course, I'm talking about Will Hill's TD. It's just Such a shame that it came with such a heavy price, the strong possibility of the #1 pick. Oh well, I guess that just fits in perfectly with the way this whole season has played out for us this year. It sure did have me hootin and hollerin, though.

You're right, as usual, jacket. And, besides, I doubt very seriously that Tyrod would have stayed for the guaranteed 1 million the poster stated. Tyrod was way more interested in the chance to win a starting job, which he had No chance to win here. So, what happened? He left, and Did win that starting job, and just recently voided the last year of the contract he got from Buffalo, which just happens to be next year. So, once again, he will be a FA after this season, and in a position to improve on the contract he received from them that he "outplayed".

We don't need a miracle for the #1 pick...we have the coach and now the qb to lose every game...so lets go guy's don't disappoint!! Let's get that #1 pick!!

I think it's kind of insulting to talk about getting the #1 draft pick as being lucky, or anything to be desired. Because what it means is your team is a disaster -- the ultimate losers -- and the desire to win, no matter what the odds, is preferable to losing so you can get that ONE pick, hoping some messianic stud is going to turn losers into winners. If the Ravens aren't trying to win out the season, no matter how improbably, then I'd be ashamed to call them my team. Knowing Coach and the organization, winning is all they're thinking about, and letting the chips fall where they may. We've had a great team without a number one pick for most of our existence, no sense changing.
