after reading this article and seeing the video, i can kinda see it, returners have seemed to struggle fielding punts, often you have seen them shuffling around or full out sprinting to get under the ball, and they often end up backing away and letting it bounce to protect it. i have said all year that sam koch is one of the biggest reasons we have kept every game so close, but i never knew there was so much innovation happening.

 

i am calling it now, if we can field a good team next year, sam koch will be DEVASTATING! this kind of punting strategy will be an incredible difference maker for a team that is winning and competing for a playoff spot with a healthy roster, consistent field position advantage, and the constant threat of a muff, is going to be a huge factor for a good team.
