[News] Late For Work 12/15: Odell Beckham Jr. Does (Near) Perfect Ray Lewis Dance After Touchdown

Webb should actually shoulder some of the responsibility, he just can't cover these receivers anymore. The only option I see or him is a move to Safety. He might not think he is at that point, but watch the tape. Constantly getting beat and not by a little bit. It is what it is.

Harbaugh doesn't want to say they signed Mallett because Schaub hasn't been to the castle yet to be informed he no longer has a job. There would be no reason to keep Schaub based on his performance and his injuries and if the Ravens want to see if Clausen is the backup of the future, he needs to play and I think Mallet is there for his shot if something happens to Clausen. Personally, I believe Mallett is signed but is it Schaub or Renner who will get the ax?

Secondary is in shambles. To not put blame on Webb is ludicrous. Webb has blame, Jimmy Smith has blame, Lewis has blame, Arrington has blame.

This is the worst backfield since inception and the entire unit needs to be overhauled. God I miss Chris McAlister and Ed Reed.

I'm sure he will shoulder the responsibility. He doesn't have what it takes anymore to be an outside cornerback. I hope he makes a permanent move to nickel or free safety. I can see from fan comments on Webby, that it's not a popular opinion, but I would like him to stay, just in a position that he can handle. He's got the smarts and a lot of what you need in the secondary, but unfortunately, the ACLs did permanently impede his speed. Hey, even better players made the move from CB to safety, when the time was right, look at Woodson. It's either that or be cut and I want him to stay and prove that he can be an asset still.

At this point after watching every game. It isn't just one person's fault when something bad happens. On offense, we obviously would have liked to have been healthy. I think Trestman deserves another shot because he wasn't terrible, in fact our offense for as lackluster as it is with injuries has still put up yards, but I hated watching him abandon the run in numerous games earlier in the season.I'm pray SSS comes back and Perriman is still who we thought he was and if a valuable vet comes available in FA lets get them because we have some nice rotational guys, just need a difference maker that will allow those guys to have less pressure on them. Aiken and Butler have looked formidable.

On Defense, I think injuries have killed us, but Pees always seems to call the worst kind of plays. And it doesn't help that our lack of a pass rush has led to our corners getting torched or having their coverage break down, which is never helped by a competent FS either lol. I just want the good ol days of a solid 5 man rush and man on man coverage with both of our safeties roaming looking to help the corners or make a play on the ball....2016 hopefully

All I'm saying is that Jalen Ramsey at FS alongside Hill would be great! He's athletic, quick, strong, and has a knack for being around the ball. We need someone that is at least knows the ball is in the air during passing plays lol

I said this the other day, IMO, the defensive game plan was garbage, no in game adjustments, as it was so obvious on a lot of plays expected safety help, which clearly was not there, zero pass rush, and no attempt to blitz more as the hottest QB in the league in Wilson was going to pick us apart if he had time, and open lanes....Not a good game for our DC, and players....JMO....

Webb has played better than Jimmy Smith to date if you ask me.  He's also accepted the coach's decisions to move him around to safety and the slot w/out issue.

I personally think Jimmy hasn't overcome the mental hurdle of his foot injury.  I think he's a 100% healthy but mentally he's not confident that he is.

If Harbs retains Pees and some other coaches he should be fired himself...If CB is healthy enough i much rather him get promoted to DC....

NFL website is also now saying Ravens signed Mallet...... My question is why they would want to sign a player that seems like trouble to me..... Plus, is he really that much better than Clausen or Renner at this point? I am personally not too positive with this "possible" signing.....

Just once I would like to see this team in GREAT cap shape. I am so tired of giving up players

because we don't have cap room. EVERY year we give up someone that could really help us when other

teams find a way to keep their guys year after year.

the man is fine being a dline coach.

he has no ambition to be a DC...

especially not now taking in consideration his health..

Smith's contract is the going rate for cornerbacks. Flacco got paid as the highest QB that doesn't mean he is the absolute best QB in the league, it doesn't mean he's Top 5. It's just the going rate for an above average QB which is why Romo, Dalton, Matt Ryan, Kap all got similar deals. Smith got $21 million guaranteed, that's the going rate for above average CBs NOT shutdown corners (try $45 million guaranteed). It's not Revis, Sherman or Peterson money, it's Kareem Jackson, Brandon Flowers, Chris Culliver money. That's about where he slots in. Expecting him to be Revis is unrealistic.

I'm surprised Mallet chose the Ravens over Cinci.  Why wouldn't he go to a team that's guaranteed a playoff spot?

YOU say injuries on D killed us...

the question is: who besides Suggs has been injured and not properly replaced? Yeah because if you mention Canty I'd say Lawrence Guy replaced him more than honorably...

Will Davis (former Dolphins CB) is the only other D player that was making strides in the little time he played before killing his knee...

Other injuries on D???

My guess is he's thinking Joe won't be ready (maybe our front office is as well) to go at the start of the year. Then he can start the season with a whole camp under his belt as our starter. This would be a chance to revive his career and get a decent contract from someone else in 2017 at starter pay. He knows Dalton will be back in 2016 for Cincy. If you think about it , this deal is all about 2016 in The Ravens eyes and his eyes.

I mean out of all the players we could have lost, Suggs was by far the most valuable! His leadership and IQ gets the team in the right mind set. And his ability to shut down the run and get after the QB and draw 2 blockers allows other pass rushers, particularly Doom or blitzing backers to have an easy job getting to the Qb. This then translates to the play of our secondary, even though they are pretty darn bad--playing wise,  not really a talent issue--the difference between a QB having 2-3 seconds to throw and 4-6 seconds is huge. The best way to mask a bad secondary is to make the pass rush ferocious! Missing Suggs took a huge element away from our D. I think in the draft we take BPA in either the pass rush department or secondary. Sometimes doubling down on a position can be great too. Look at the Panthers drafting Star and Short back to back, that helped their D-line tremendously. Or the jags taking Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns. We know where our weakness is and we need to fix it.

J.Smith's contract is that for a #1 CB and that he isn't....I pray he makes me eat crow next year, but he doesn't intimidate QB's from going his way at all.....

possibly Harbaugh adamantly sticking up for Webby means he was kind of pissed the Pea's kept putting him on a island outside when he has already proven thats not his game... Maybe, just maybe its the first sign (at least publically) of Harbs being peeved with the defensive play calling. Lets hope because talent or not, Pea's and his secondary clearly have a disconnect on some level.

I'mn afraid the signing of Mallett anbd Schaub not going on IR means Renner is out... No way we'll keep 4 QB's on the roster for long...

Man, I am going to reiterate my distaste for Ryan Mallett, he's selfish and a bad teammate and has been for a long time. Also, I want Steve Smith to retire because I am just too nervous for him if he does return. A 36 year old man who just tore his Achilles needs to think about what being a 50 or 60 year old man is going to be like. The injuries he already has had are gonna take a toll later in life man, he doesn't need to make it worse. He should spend time with his family and enjoy the fact that he one of the best in NFL history, why risk another concussion or a torn/broken/lacerated body part? Is this Ravens team really a Super Bowl contender next year? But hey, Steve is a good dude, and if he comes back best believe I'll have him on my fantasy football team next year.

Its all about the $$$$$... He chose us over Cincy because we offered him a chance to make 2.5 Mil next year, he probably wounldn't have gotten that # anywhere else, or else he would've chosen them
