Titan Fans Excuses

45 posts in this topic

There are Titan Fans who feel we were bailed-out by the Refs on 3rd down. The situation where the clock was clearly at (00). The refs didn't call a delay of game against the Ravens which would have possibly taken the game into over-time. Basically, they felt robbed of an opportunity to win the game. Lets just help these losers understand why they won our previous match-up and why we won this game. A few weeks ago, The titans were in a 3rd down situation in the 4th quarter, with I think less than 2mins left. T-Sizzle (Clearly) put (Clean) pressure on (Collins). As a result, the (Refs) called a penalty against the Ravens which allowed the Titans to Start a game-winnig drive. We totally dominated that game well enough to win, and should have won. But the final score ended-up 13-10, arguably or obviously because of that penalty. Well, Well, Well, didn't this game look familiar???? Payback taste soooooo sweet!!! Say what y'all want Titan Fans! If you guys so-called gave this game away, or the refs robbed y'all, what do you cry-babies think happened to us a few weeks ago? Whatever you guys are feeling, we felt it already. Against y'all previously, and our defeat against the Colts in "2006" at (Home) after a (Bye). It doesn't matter why we won, we just got it done. What's Our Name? (Ravens)!!! Say it, or Shuuuuuuut Up!!!!!!!!!!

Was waiting for this post!! I agree, what goes around comes back around!! Everything was opposite this game. Stats say that the Titans should have won(besides the turnovers) just like the Stats said last game we should have won.

I think the Titans are a DIRTY football team, and full of trouble makers.. I think they were so busy talking trash they forgot to play football.

The titans choked and self destructed. Looks like that rest they had did not do them any good. Baltimore came out and took that game away. Titans have no excuses.

Yeah, we catch one break and the whole world will harp on it forever. We got hosed by the refs in both games against the steelers this year too, so maybe we'll get revenge on them too if it works out that way. By the way, the fans on the Tighties board are very LOW class.

Yup! And the Ravens do what they do every week. They take what teams are best at away.. They took the run game away with Chris Johnson and they FORCED fumbles and turnovers.

I admit, yes, whichever ref was in charge of the game clock missed it on this one. But that did NOT cost Tennessee the game, when they still had a chance to stop us on that play on third down, and we still had to march 20 more yards to get in FG range and then Stover has to make the kick. This is how that drive went down:
3-2-BAL 32 (2:51) (Shotgun) 5-J.Flacco pass deep middle to 86-T.Heap to TEN 45 for 23 yards (33-M.Griffin) [92-A.Haynesworth].
1-10-TEN 45 (2:06) PENALTY on BAL-78-A.Terry, False Start, 5 yards, enforced at TEN 45 - No Play.
1-15- (2:05) 5-J.Flacco pass incomplete deep right to 85-D.Mason (24-C.Hope).
Two-Minute Warning
2-15- (1:58) (Shotgun) 5-J.Flacco pass incomplete short right to 85-D.Mason. PENALTY on TEN-90-J.Kearse, Defensive Offside, 5 yards, enforced at 50 - No Play.
2-10-TEN 45 (1:56) (Shotgun) 23-W.McGahee left end pushed ob at TEN 34 for 11 yards (24-C.Hope).
1-10-TEN 34 (1:49) 23-W.McGahee up the middle to TEN 33 for 1 yard (93-K.Vanden Bosch).
2-9-TEN 33 (1:09) 33-L.McClain left guard to TEN 33 for no gain (97-T.Brown, 53-K.Bulluck).
Timeout #1 by TEN at 01:04.
3-9-TEN 33 (1:04) 5-J.Flacco pass short right to 89-M.Clayton to TEN 25 for 8 yards (20-N.Harper).
Timeout #2 by TEN at 00:57.
4-1-TEN 25 (:57) (Field Goal formation) 3-M.Stover 43 yard field goal is GOOD, Center-70-M.Katula, Holder-4-S.Koch.
The defense had plenty of chances to stop us.

And on replay, no, Joe didn't go out of the back of the end zone. And, yes, Chris Johnson not being there in the second half hurt them, but can we control that? The Cards didn't have Boldin today but still won easily at Carolina.

to be fair, this was a playoff game and the other game was only a regular season game. Still, the referees are sucking so bad this year, the Titans fans cant claim it would have gone into overtime. They can claim it would have increased the chance of it, but frankly, nobody knows what would have happened because if the penalty had been called, it would have been...3rd and 7? That pass to Heap was a 23 yarder...sooo not really a big deal.

I gotta say, if the cards would flip. We would be doing the same thing. I remember that thread we had going about the refs after the Steelers game. Let them vent, they lost.

Excuses only make the loss easier to swallow. It's acceptable. They do have a gripe. But just like many on here stated when we got screwed, "it shouldn't even have come down to that". The Titans could have finished business, but instead they turn it over three times in the redzone. They screwed themeselves.

You guys pretty much nailed it. In week five of this season, we flat out DOMINATED the Titans in every facet of the game except the scoreboard at the end. Chris Johnson and Lendale White did nothing against us. Kerry Collins looked scared, and was thoroughly owned. A few questionable calls later, our defense gives up a few plays, and we lose 13-10. Tonight was the bizarro version of week five. The Ravens were DOMINATED by the Titans in every facet of the game except for the scoreboard, Chris Johnson was lighting up our defense, and Kerry Collins looked like Tom Brady, with Gage looking like Randy Moss. A no call goes our way, our offense does what it has to, and we win 13-10. There's absolutely nothing for the Titans fans to cry about. Their team had an awesome season, they played a great game, and they just couldn't hold up their end of the deal. So solly, Chalie.

I agree, they were regular season games of which we were cheated of victories. But, Horrible-calls are Horrible no-matter what time of year or how important of a game it is. Penatlies like these could make or break the success of a team. It happens to every team at some point. But, the penalties against us caused us to lose games against hated rivals and affected our record. I can respect penalties that affects yards or touchdown opportunies because theres always time left during the game to review the call. And also, theres enough opportunity for the affected team to respond. But, penalties given at crunch-time, with little or nothing on the game-clock. Those really bugg me along with any fan of any team because they can cost you the game. The worst part about it, Theres no evidence to support their calls. Those are the penalties I hate. It seems as though, If we don't get blown out, we lose because of these bonehead calls.

Bart Scott, your opinion?

The Bottom line is (and I bet Titans fans were saying the same thing about us in our last game) If you would have made the plays that you were supposed to, you would have never been in the situation to where the zebras decided the game

Titan fans have no room to talk. They had the entire first half where they dominated us in every category except for turnovers. They had a running game and passing game that was in their favor and they were wearing down the defense. That should have been the time that they got the majority of their points.

Don't blame the game clock on why you lost this game. Like everyone before me said, "what goes around comes around" and now it was your turn to pay the piper.

Suck it up and we'll see you next year.

Not an exact quote of Ditka but pertaining to the fog bowl he said stuff about you should have put points on the board when we did so this wouldn't have been a problem.

people dont realize that the clock we see on tv is delayed from the actual game clock. they had this discussion last week during one of the saturday games. so it wasnt as bad as the titan fans think it was. all season long its gone like that with no call. play clock shows 0 and then the snap. the qb has the best view of the play clock so 9.9 times out of 10 hes going to snap the ball in time. enough with the excuses.

Mike Pereira on NFLN did an entire segment on this last week. The official time is kept on the field. There can be a lag before a delay is called.

hahaha, the guy who's team that just scored 10 points and turned the ball over 3 times called our offense pitiful! :D :D

And as for us being "thugs" trying to take out CJ, was that even anywhere nearly as disgusting as what Fat Albert did when he stomped on people's head while they're on the ground?

Go home, loser. Enjoy watching the rest of the postseason from the sidelines.

All I can say is... Its about time we got a call. But that did not win the game for us. The Ravens won the game because they refused to play less than 60 minutes. Although you can say the Titans won the statistical battle we made the plays when they mattered most.

Can they vent on their own board? That's right they took it down...

Titan fans need to stop making excuses about the officiating. That stuff happens in the NFL...Trust us we know, we have been dealing with it all year.

They should start talking about how their own players coughed the ball up 2 times in our own redzone. Those turnovers hurt them more than the playclock excuse.

Or the 10+ yellow flags that gave us 90 some extra yards. The missed field goal that would have been tied game. Their safety blowing coverage, to let a 34 year old wr to get wide open downfield. The bad snaps by their center. Their cocky head coach going for it on 4th and 8, instead of kicking the field goal or punting the ball. Their defense for not sacking or forcing a ROOKIE QB to make a mistake. The grass for being green and water for being wet. lol.
