Canty placed on season ending IR

And another one down.  I seriously think we've seen the last of Canty as a Raven. He was cut during the off-season and then brought back at a lower salary.

Tore his pectoral muscle. Ouch.

21?

We're working on having 22 men on it so we can boast having an entire starting eleven on both sides of the ball on IR.

Ravens have 22 players on I.R. which is most in the league(next is the Steelers with 19). The Ravens also have the most cap space invested into players on I.R. with over 18 mil invested in those 22 players(next closest is the Cowboys at 14.5 mil)

Depends on how you crunch the numbers of the people on IR. We have the most money because we have the most amount of people on the IR. We average less than a million dollar cap hit for each person on the IR

But looking at the numbers, there are teams out there that have much more signicant injuries on their IR than we do. Cowboys, Panthers and Broncos all have a higher per player allocation through their IR'd players.

This just stems back to what I have stated multiple times. Up until a these past fees weeks with the addition of Flacco and Monroe, we had a couple big name players and the other players were either reserves or just situational guys. The injury excuse was used the whole year for this team but it wasn't until recently that it was truly warranted.

Like I said, there are teams that are worse off than we are.

Phantom IR move to get young guys on the field.

I doubt that. He came out of the game with the injury and was ruled out pretty quickly.

Love Chris Canty, one of my favorite players, but... he was toying with retiring last year, I think Sunday was his last day on the field.

How is it possible for one team to have so many injuries? Canty may retire, guy has been a good Raven and a good teammate, wish nothing but the best for him.

This might be actually the end of Canty's career. He thought about it last offseason as well and has a media job lined up already.

Few injuries while with us but he contributed nicely on and off the field. Good player and good guy.

He tried not to jinx it but it was inevitable , his locker was next in line.

I could get that but cap is as far as I would go with it. Losing a lot of bottom of the roster guys is one thing. Big time players usually take up a lot of cap space so us being up there in both(and we are up in the cap fairly convincingly) is saying something.

Yeah he wasn't flashy but stepped in and did his job for us. I think this is it as well for him. Wish him luck with whatever he does next.
