[News] Jimmy Clausen Impresses, Earns Further Starting QB Consideration

START RENNER. what have we to lose. Idk why harbaugh has to be so stubborn about this. Right now winning doesn't matter as much seeing which guys to keep for the next season. smh this is getting ridiculous

I think you need someone with experience so you can evaluate the offense and receivers. Having a rookie QB out there might make it hard to distinguish mistakes by QB vs lack of talent at skill positions.

This is a big issue. We need a back up QB, actually we need a starting QB in case Joe is not ready early next season. Clausen or Schaub are not the fix. Renner, not ready to be a starting QB or he we don't bring in Clausen, so were stuck with 3 bad QB options.

Meh...  he'll do for now, yes...  and we have Schaub and Renner.  Next year Joe's back.  Gosh, I really miss Joe.

start him the rest of the season. He nor Schaub are the answer, but we already know Schaub is washed up. Maybe Clausen can be a third stringer next year.

QB is just one of MANY problems and weaknesses we have on this team now that Joe is hurt. Joe is a good QB. We don't have another good QB, which is typical in this league. Really, think of and name a team that has more than one good QB. You may well come up with a loss on that one. Playing a team the caliber of the Seahawks shows just how weak our Ravens team really is. And it truly Does go beyond the players on the field. The coaching staff has some problems too. I believe that it's going to take a while, not just one off-season to right this ship. Fixing this team is going to take some time, a Lot of work, and a Lot of "smarts", and we haven't seen much "smarts" from the Ravens this year.

Winning will Always matter to coaches. If coaches don't win games, they run the risk of losing their jobs, not just games.

Clausen looked way better than i expected him to look. Schaub is probably going to be replaced by Clausen the remainder of the season.

I wasn't able to see the game. But will someone please tell me if Clausen was really "impressive" as this article states? The only highlight I saw was the pass to Aiken.

People were impressed with Clausen, for the most part, because he out performed the expectations. People didn't expect much because he was thrown into the fire, basically, with only a few weeks to prepare for our offense. What I saw, was more pocket presence and he rolled out more than, even Joe likes to. He was accurate for much of the game and even completed the same amount of passes as Wilson (Sea.), but had about 8 more attempts. Oh, and the Seahawks know how to get open in the red zone, in the end zone, for Touchdowns, where we still don't and usually either go for a 4th down play (run up the middle) or settle for a F.G.

All in all, I think Clausen played better than Schaub did last week (against a worse Miami team). We need to work on our plays and play calling, especially mixing up our plays, because Sea. seemed to bunch-up and crowd the middle of the line with 7 or 8 guys every time we ran it right to them and got minimal gains. We're very predictable in that regard and everyone, including you and me knows what we like to run over and over. Our defense was lackluster most of the game, falling down in coverage and not getting any rush pressure on Wilson. It was a sad day to root for the Ravens, for sure, but I'm still looking forward to next week and the Chiefs, coming to Baltimore for another week of football. Crazy game, ups and downs.

He earned another shot as our QB for sure; for a young player to go out after only a little over two weeks of being here, trying to learn a mostly new offensive scheme, gaining the trust and respect of the other offensive players while taking control of the game, yeah, he did very well overall...... Was he perfect? No, and quite frankly, that would be close to impossible against a top tier team like Seattle. The fact that he targeted and hit many of our receivers, gained as many yards as he did, getting more comfortable and confident as continued to play yesterday, was a huge boost. He only had 1 pick yesterday, and I was a fan that thought not only would yesterday be a nightmare on the offensive side, but thought he would get picked off at least 5 times, and never move the ball into Seahawks territory, I was completely wrong. The way he moved the ball down the field before the half was over, with only 45 seconds left reminded me of a veteran Joe. They need to let him play out the season to evaluate him properly in my opinion, and he will have some rough teams for the rest of the short season. Except for needing to improve in the red-zone, which honestly is not only his problem as a QB this season, he gets an A- from me. Once again also, the defense gets an F from me......

My feed to the Sunday Ticket yesterday was easily as bad as the game itself. I didn't really see much of it. I guess I'm only looking at the score, but how good could Clausen possibly look?

Anyway, I don't think we're saying now that he's the backup of the future, but I hope it can be that he gets to play out the year and improves as he gets more comfortable (or at least as comfortable as one can get with our current O line and receiving corps).

I agree Clausen looked kind of like what we are used to. Kind of "Flacco-like" numbers, actually. Hmmm....

This really aint the time people wanna hear about Tuckers opera singing lol. Picturing him singing some annoying opera, on top of the fact that we are 4-9 just looks all bad LOL

Main reason why I am not criticizing this offense is because, we have NO STAR PLAYERS. We are basically working with a TOTAL BACKUP SQUAD. Now as for the defense, smh.

Isn't funny they fans were raving about Daniel Brown during the preseason but the brain child's cut him. Could the fans be right about Bryn Renner? I don't know what metrics these coaches and office personnel use to judge talent but it is obvious from the Ravens record that it should be trashed along with whoever used or enforced it.

So, does this mean that Matt"Interception King"Schaub is out?I hope so.A good time to see what the kid Renner has.Although Clausen was a big improvement over Schaub.

If it was today, the 7th pick in the draft at least is ours. Shame we have to root for that. Players don't, but will not play hard once they start to lose.
