Was watching the Redskins game with a friend earlier today. Felt weird to see good calls by their DC once in a while

Can't believe I never clicked until he referred to "Cleats" Elam. It does make a lot of other things fall into place though.

Makes perfect sense to this fan

Well, we didn't get lose as badly as the Falcons. That's something, right? We're still better than them.

To be fair, they'd probably do better with their 3rd string QB.

Torrey Smith would be useful to us.  Adding Torrey and Boldin to Steve Smith and Aiken would have given Flacco plenty of targets.  Also now that Flacco is injured Tyrod Taylor would be an upgrade over who we have at QB.

You cant look at it that way though.  Only reason we were able to get Doom was because the money freed up from boldin.  Besides we couldnt afford to pay Torrey, SSr, and Boldin, thats not even logical if you take in account the salary cap, which is kind of important.

And the Taylor thing is literally hindsight, he deserves to be a starter in Buffalo imo and he doesnt have that chance here.  Its easier to sit here and say all these "what ifs" but they arent logical, especially years later.

I dont pretend to be some salary cap genius or anything, hell, most of the times i have to ask others on here, but i know enough to know whats logical, which why proposing certain things are pointless when you take into account the salary cap.

I just checked NFL.com and they had both the Seahawks and Panthers allowing exactly 307.8 yards of total offense. We put up 6 points with backups galore while the Falcons........

Heck, when Torrey caught the GW TD last week against the Bears in OT, there were a number of posters who thought we should have kept him. This week, Torrey only had ONE catch for 17 yards. I don't hear people wanting him now on these boards. If Perriman didn't get hurt like that, who's to say he wouldn't be productive? Hindsight is 20/20 for a reason.

exactly.  Im a Torrey fan to be honest, but still dont think he would have been worth the money.  I have hope that BP can replace Torrey's production, until he does its a waiting game.  If we would of gave Torrey the money he wanted who would we have lost out on? i honestly am asking because i dont know

I am confused. A lot of people in here wanted us to tank for draft picks and now as they are doing this the world is going down?

what exactly did you guys expect from a bunch of 3rd stringers against one of the hottest teams in the league?

all in all the future isn´t as clouded as most of the guys are trying to make us believe currently...

we will get a lot of players back and we had some really positive outings from some others (aiken, gillmore, I even think that flacco played good this year…)

I ignored the game after the Hawks scored in the second half and completely seperated myself from the game in that horrendous 4th quarter.  We gave up two turnovers, ran a total of 28 yards!!   We only scored two FGs.  That spells Ugly..

This may sound like a "Typical" Ravens fan post but i need to say it

Please let this be the end of the Clausen experiment. I know he has only been in the system 2 weeks but his natural instincts are just terrible.

Here is what is bothering me.

Chose to lob the ball up instead of getting rid of the ball a few times under pressure.

Arm strength was not there.

Here is what i liked about his play.

Kept plays alive with nice movement in and out of the pocket.

Took control during the no huddle.

Bounced back after very bad plays.

OK even while i am typing this i like more then i dislike about him. Let's see what he grows into in the coming 3 games or so. Sorry for my over reaction as i am so used to Joe Cool with that powerful gun out there.

I know i may be way off on this but i just felt uneasy the entire game just waiting for the next disaster to happen under center.

Would love to know what the offense thinks of him. If the other players can buy into him being the leader why can i not ?

I'm not disappointed. There's really only one way to get better in this league under responsible management and that is to build from within. We are not a good team. Since 2013 our overall regular season record is 22-23. That's not all bad, but its not what we are use to.

The only issue is do we have the people in place to rebuild in the modern era? And are those people here for the long term or are they positioned only for the quick fix?

I don't even know. I like Torrey and I wouldn't be upset if we had kept him, but if he was our #1, do ppl really think he would change life? He was a #1 in 2013 and we saw how that worked out.

Torrey is not a #1 imo, him and BP would of been a very interesting combo.  I think we should build like we did with our superbowl team: Boldin- reliable, move the chains, beast of a guy.  Torrey- deepthreat.  Jacoby- amazing returner and every now big play capable but wasnt relied upon in the passing game.  Rice- a workhorse rb who was amazing at making plays after the catch.  We didnt have a dominent player (you could argue Rice was a top 5 rb that year) but we had an amazing amount of role players.  Im not in the mindset we need a elite #1 guy ie a Dez, megatron, jones, etc.

I think or FO is grasping the mindset you need a pretty good offense to win these days with all the rule changes favoring the offense, the issue is do they have the talent to elavuate that side of the ball well enough to keep us a contender.  But with players like Green and Brown in our devision, not to mention Martavius Bryant who looks like a legit number one soon, Bell, we will need a defense to stop them at some point, the question is how do we find the balance.

How does a professional franchise watch a team convert on the same simple out pattern to the same WR on third down countless times? I believe it was 4 times to Baldwin and once to Willson...inexcusable.

I am responding to someone saying what players from the Super Bowl team would be useful.  Tyrod Taylor wouldn't have stayed here he wanted to be a starter.  I think affording Boldin is something that could have been done. We only save a couple million on him.   The team made a lot of bad contract extensions.  And picking the wrong players to release and the wrong to keep.  The team isn't going to be good next year.  There is no money to get good players.

How did KO look at LT? I wasn't really noticing him, but I wasn't watching him closely either.

Once the coaches film is up I'll check him out and throw my observations out there with some gifs if there's anything worth being captured.

Why is WEBB rated so highly in this organization , but plays so poorly?

He's actually been pretty capable this season. They like him because, unlike Monroe, he cares about the team enough to take pay cuts and restructure his contract.

Webb stinks and needs to be cut . He's done bro . He sure got lit up against Seattle . Two many acl tears for a corner . He's much slower than he used to be .

The only way I keep him is if he can fit in at Safety .

He's been playing safety. I have more faith with him there, as his instincts are decent even if he can't preform at cb anymore at a high level. However, our secondary is such junk any success he sees will probably get overwhelmed by the poor play if the unit as a whole

So we need to keep osemele badly, he didn't allow a single pressure, he's scheme and position versatile. And urschel and Jensen haven't flashed at all in their opportunities

Our team is based on drafting and bargain shopping for talented role players. We rarely have top 5 talents, but we still get err done

Only bc we are forced to. We got too many players that are not holding up to their 'bargain'.

Next year will be just as bad if we don't trim the fat.

Yes, let's fire everyone because our third string team couldn't beat a 1st string team.

Over reaction by thin skinned "fans."

ikr this was a Super Bowl team vs backups and bums. Seahawks did what any playoff team would do, not lay an egg against a terrible team.

Matter of fact they both have not even smoldered. Is there a reason why Jensen has been with the Ravens for 3 years and prior to all the injuries to the Ravens o line he only played 1 snap in the years prior to this year? Makes you wonder why? He hasnt shown much at all this year in his 3 starts and he was the first man in a bridge to be broken that took out Flacco. If he didnt have help on both sides of him in the last 3 games it would have been disaster. Urchel has done a little better but not much. K.O.did a great job at left tackle and he was "playing for the money" last game since he will be a FA and up for contract talks with big money involved. I say his durability is to be questioned since he has missed so many games due to to injury. Yanda is a history maker and you cant add anything to that!  Wagner has not played very well all year and I think his injury and surgery may have taken a toll on him and his performance but he will  be great once again. And heres what I think about Hurst since he has been a punching bag to a few of those on here. Monroe threw him to the wolves. When Monroe was getting beat in games I think he would just "tap out" to keep from looking bad. Hurst had a concussion also. Maybe his was not as bad as Monroes, but Hurst was out if I remember well 4 days till back at practice with Monroe out 4 weeks....Left offensive tackle is the absolute hardest line position to play, the highest paid and even first round draft choices falter at it . It takes a few years to develop that position and I have read where most of you want to draft a LT and have time to groom him. I for one think that is a good idea but it has to be realized that Hurst never had that opportunity to mature and be groomed. It was right into the fire for him and he did have some hard times but he never was injured and was able to at least try to step up to the plate and accept the opportunity regardless of how he played and was paid a small pittance to what Mr. Monroe was paid. Maybe he learned a lot this year. It is to be seen in the future. As far as Castillo is concerned he is a great line coach. It was Kubiac's system that made the offensive line what they were last year. He was an offensive linemans dream coach as to how he ran the game and zone blocking involved. The Ravens will once again be a great team. We have fallen on hard times but the future has to be bright. Could you imagine it being as dark as this year?

Folks, we are getting way off topic here for the intent of this thread, which was "The good, bad, and ugly, week 14 of the SEAHAWKS game".  Let's try to stay on topic please, thanks.

Harbs said it best yesterday:

"I think Ryan has played well, but not as well as he CAN play.  He has had some good games for us and some good outings.  he had some really good plays in the game, and he had some plays he'd want to have back, certainly.  I am looking for improvement -  looking for improvement from everybody- and to see what we can do out there on Sunday with that Offensive Line.  But I like those guys.  I LIKE Ryan."

That's why he is still here.  He sees his potential.  I am  very interested to see how he performs on Sunday vs. Chiefs.

Offensive lines are like a small flock of birds.  They have to work together, and get their collective timing and footwork coordinated.  The more they play at game speed, the better they will gel.  I think the remainder of 2015 will give them that opportunity.

Just my $.02
