Week 14 - Baltimore Ravens vs. Seattle Seahawks

1,020 posts in this topic

Coaches dont suit up. The players are what they are and its the coaches job to put them in positions where they can be at there best. Its the reason that a corner from another teams practice squad brought in mid season was going to get exploited by the Patriots because there is just no way to protect him.

Bill Belichick was terrible with the Browns and that was because the Browns had horrible players. If you dont get good players you cant coach them into being good no matter how much fans may want them to be. Every team has players they can not afford to lose and the Ravens lost one of theres on defense and most of theres on offense and when that happens you can not win.

so we don't have good players on defense? So Ozzie needs fired after spending virtually all our top picks minus last year on defense?

It's rare to get a penalty on a team like Seattle in the secondary because they have a reputation for being good and the referees will err on the side that they made a good play

Hate it for them. Would rather them win the AFC than the Cheats or Stoolers.

Dalton was having a banner year. Without him they are in trouble.

Can we get any calls our way?

That would have given us a first in good field position but instead we have to punt. Makes me sick.

Billicheck was not terrible with the browns. He actually turned the franchise around. The bottom only fell out when modell publicly decided to mive the franchise.

Blame the players all you want, but with pees at the helm the defense will continue to deteriorate.

I believe Dalton has a ton of incentive money that gets guaranteed based off of playoff wins as well, so wouldn't be bad if they went to the SB.

Lol, maybe that's why they appear to be better than they really are?

What's the best seafood place in Baltimore?

Phillips at Inner Harbor is supposed to be really nice, but it is expensive.

what about Upshaw that top pick we had a few years ago? Or scheme around your top pass rusher in doom? Or what about the two 2nd round picks on the dline and williams the best NT In football?

What about jimmy the shutdown corner last year before his injury? We have other players to scheme around. Pees can't, couldn't, wouldn't, whatever. He has to go.

Upshaw is a great run stopper but a bad pass rusher and Doom is a bad run stopper but great pass rusher which is why they worked great together but putting them both on the field means that you have a pass rushing weakness on one side and a run stopping weakness on the other and you can only afford so many weaknesses on defense before you get picked apart.

Case in point you highlighted how Jimmy is the shutdown corner from last year but he has no safety help this year because Kendrick Lewis isnt very good and the other corners are not on his level which leads you to a problem of having a secondary of basically Hill and Jimmy.  Also since we are highlighting weaknesses offenses can exploit the first round pick Mosley in his pass coverage if you happen to have a good TE which is yet ANOTHER thing he has to scheme around.

Basically the Defensive Coordinator can only scheme around so many holes before the entire ship starts sinking.

They keep running that quick out route with baldwin

only that pass with the webb Pi has travelled more than 10 yards in the air. No adjustments!

It's kinda like with Richard Sherman- he's a very guarded corner playing in a very heavy cover three scheme and he's only well known and talked about because he talks a lot.

The referees hear all this chatter about "The Legion of Boom" and they're going to let them get grabby. Kinda like how Browner was grabby in Seattle, but didn't get called as often, but is the most penalized corner in the NFL in NO
