Week 14 - Baltimore Ravens vs. Seattle Seahawks

1,020 posts in this topic

with the draft picks we've spent on our defense we shouldn't be relying on one player, and imo we don't rely on one player, i just don't think Pees could work around losing him.

He has to go. We have more talent on defense than say Pitts even without suggs, and the eye test tells me they play a hell of a lot better.

Who was he going to have fill that void?  There was not a replacement on the Ravens who could be both a great pass rusher and run stopper.  The entire setup relied on Suggs being the constant and then rotating players on the other side as the need arose.

Maybe you can say they should have built the position better so that it could mitigate the loss of Suggs better but even then I think you just chalk that up to only having so many draft picks and so much money.  I would love to have 53 great players who could all start at any given moment but you only have so many draft picks and so much money which means you have to accept that some people are not replaceable.

I actually hope so. He should be finally fully healed, but that is a long time to be out of football. With Maxx, Gilmore, and Boyle....TE is one position we are set on.

His time is up...

Ravens catch a break from the dropped TD pass from the "WIDE" open receiver and now the fumble by the Seahawks!

Question is what are they going to do about it?

za darius smith is awful. what a dissapointment.

He's a rookie 4th round pick.  He's not suppose to be playing this much.

Is it though?  Aside from them being either hurt or suspended I dont feel confident in them yet.  I think Maxx has the most potential but he is a VERY young player in the NFL so its taking his body some time to get adjusted and he needs to get his head down when he runs because he keeps getting crushed when he doesnt.

I'm going off memory, but the Ravens have 10 holding penalties called in their favor on the year (an absurdly low number). However, six came in weeks one and two, meaning there have been FOUR holding calls in TEN other games. It's absurd how much the referees are biased against bad teams

Mcphee was a 5th round pick and was really really good in his rookie season

smith has done nothing..nadda. he looks like a guy that will be out of the league in a year or two

Yeah seriously. He was very raw coming out of college with us planning to develop him after a year or two? Forced into playing time because of injury.

One player does not make a defense. If pees was a good coordinator, he could manufacture pass rush missing one marquee player

what about Upshaw that top pick we had a few years ago? Or scheme around your top pass rusher in doom? Or what about the two 2nd round picks on the dline and williams the best NT In football?

What about jimmy the shutdown corner last year before his injury? We have other players to scheme around. Pees can't, couldn't, wouldn't, whatever. He has to go.

I just do not want to see him crippled for life. Football is not worth it. His health is more important. He should not need the money if he is careful with his spending.
