[News] Seahawks' Steven Hauschka Hails From Ravens Kicking Tree

18 posts in this topic

One of the strongest branches of that tree will be back in Baltimore for the first time this Sunday. Steven Hauschka, who has now kicked in two Super Bowls with the Seahawks, got his real shot with the Ravens.

^ Let me go on a little nit-picking rampage for a brief moment please....

Just give Hauschka his credit for playing in 2 Super Bowls with the Seahawks since leaving Baltimore without the "got his real shot with the Ravens" as though the Ravens had something to do with his better performance and stint in Seattle after they kicked him out the door.  These articles man!  Smh!

Ok!  I'm done... :DB)

@johnmike Remember also this is Tucker's first year of being a married man (to a redhead no less), sometimes that messes with guys....

what else is next on the list to write about? how the water boys who spent two days in baltimore went on to be pro water boys for another team? I couldn't roll my eyes any further into my skull.

I will always remember that bad kick to end the Vikings game. Were poised to hand them their first loss of the season, but Hauschka just could not handle any sport of pressure. Makes you appreciate guys like Stover and Tucker.

Didn't they get it wrong about Cundiff? He didn't only spend time with the Ravens in 2011. He took the job over from Hauschka and was really beloved by all fans the rest of 2009, all of 2010 and part of 2011 (up until the AFC Championship), eventually being cut in favor of Tucker. He at one point led the league in touchbacks (I think he at least tied the league regular season record in the 2010-2011 season?). Don't get me wrong, I love Tucker and wouldn't want anyone else (he's easily a Top 3 Kicker). But Mink is making it sound like Cundiff was only here for a year. He should probably fact check himself a little.

We cut him after one season and he goes on to become a really accurate kicker. Remember there was a time when we struggled to find the right kicker and fortunately Tucker was there to win the job.

I remember him not being able to kick a foot ball and hit a barn let alone get it between the posts. Was glad to see him go. Strange he found his way after he left. I've thought of the irony many times when watching Seattle games.

So lets write an article about how awesome these guys are AFTER we cut them...

Yea but we do a better job of saying bad an mean things about people who help win us a super bowl that are no longer here.
