[News] Pete Carroll Offered Buck Allen A USC Scholarship As A Ninth Grader

No Doubt Buck has potential, and could be our Number 1 Back next year or the year after. I'm pulling for him, he runs hard, blocks well and has decent hands...

Hopefully he stays healthy and he doesn't hit that sophomore slump... He has been playing good football and has a chance to prove himself this week against a good Seahawks defense. If he smashes their front seven in the mouth then he will make a name for himself.

no doubt this kid is a bona fide starter in the making... vision, size, enough speed, incredible ability to make the first guy miss, it doesn't take much to realize the potential this young man has... He sounds like he has his head on straight. I dont know about his competitive fire other than what I read on here, but I watched his highlight tape of USC as soon as we drafted him and knew we stole a gamer in rd 4. Not sure of the cap situation concerning JForrsett and I love the guy but there is no doubt in my mind our offense is better with Buck than with Justin... Justin is very good if he has a very good O-line, were finding out Buck Allen can make it happen on his own

He fits our zone blocking scheme better than Justin. Who is the king running back in the league with the zone run scheme? Arian Foster comes to mind... Buck reminds me of a young Arian Foster and that fits our scheme better. No offense to Justin, but he had one good year and did not impress at all this year. If we were still in Caldwell's or Cameron's offense then I think Forsett's shifty style would fit our deep passing game. We have such good guards that we need to just hit that hole as fast as possible because Yanda and Osemele do a great job at pushing the defensive line back a couple yards... It is almost a 4 or 5 yard gain every time if we do that. I still see Forsett here next year but I see them splitting carries. Forsett is a great pass blocker and we didn't break the bank for him. Unless we have a lot of faith in Buck and unless another team will pay a high draft pick for Forsett... Both will have big roles next year. As so will Taliaferro in the red zone.

I wasn't aware of Buck Allen before the draft but I was a hige fan of him after I went and watched some tape on him. There were a few videos on youtube that showed every on of his carries in some games and I could see why the Ravens drafted him. With that said,I would like to see him get his yards per carry up though.Having 3.9 yards per carry is not a good thing. In some ways he kind of reminds me of a bigger slightly less explosive version of Ray Rice.

Just like having two prominent Buck's in Charm city. Let's give it a little time before he's proclaimed the next Lenny Moore or even, for that matter, a Priest Holmes.

Justin Forsett and LT were discussing this on the wired episode. The Ravens' Franchise record for most receptions in a game is held by Priest Holmes (13) dating back 17 years.

Buck put up 12 in just his second game as a starter.

Sign of good things to come?

No friends in business memo: The Ravens have Forsett, Taliaferro, Allen and West as running backs coming back next year. The greater part may say " I hate to cut that guy not him!" So what do we do?

Reminds me of a young Ray Rice groomed behind McGahee. This time it's a young Buck behind Forsett. He is definitely our best receiving RB since Rice. I hope he can blossom%u2026 We need him to.

After we drafted Buck I oddly watched his USC highlight tape about 10 times before this season started. Idk but it was just so pleasing to the eyes to watch.

Buck reminds me a lot of roger craig. The way they are both receiving backs of course, but also how buck runs straight up, but can really lower his helmet and lay a hit. I could see Buck joining craig in getting 1k receiving in the next few years if he keeps it up.

This is Buck Allen as a rookie actually performing in a game that reminds us of Holmes and Rice. He has already put up the stats in a single game that it took them time to build to. Yes, he had the opportunity given Forsett's injury: But he made the Raven most out of the opportunity. He is a future game-changer.

And there was another Allen out of USC that was a pretty good dual threat also. Marcus Allen was a different kind of runner than Buck, but Buck has the great hands and after-catch ability of Marcus.
