I think we might put Wagners on the other side to replace Monroe and have our Big boy De%u2019Ondre Wesley on the Right for out run plays

This is one of the three games this season to me are must wins. No matter what I hope we at least keep it close, I live in Washington and don't need these Sea Chicken fans running their mouths...

IR marlon & monroe.

I think if you IR Monroe you'd have to then give him a physical which he must then pass before you can cut him for no loss (other than dead money). If you IR him and he fails his physical then he will be due an additional 1.5mil.

So it's better to just roster him for the remaining games and cut him pre-June 1, or at least leave the option to cut him open.

ohhh boy....i guess this has been the theme of the season for us! INJURIES.... "Cant Go Monroe" is his typical M.I. A. He is pretty much worthless... Encouraged that at least one of our TE's will be available... maybe even both... Wesley can run block - just not sure about pass blocking ability? We should be very run heavy this weekend but seattle is tough against the run... i wish we could pay Monroe by an incentive based contract... TBH I think if his contact was merit based... he would owe us money right now!

I'm with you on all accounts Commish!

On an almost unrelated topic, where's SUGGS??? I know he's out for the season but shouldn't he be on the sidelines with his team or has he packed it up?

Just curious.

Man, with so many new - and let's face it, not eaxctly first-line - guys on the team, the last two games felt so much like pre-season... A lot of unknown names, new faces, the result of the game not really important, the focus on the young players... The happiness of seeing the youngins like Dan Brown make plays and do good things out there surpassing the sadness about the L...

Just like it was still (or already..) August.

It would be stupid for Suggs to be on the sideline. He's rehabbing from a serious injury and if he were on the sidelines he risks getting injured again with players coming out of bounds.

Whom ever at QB gotta go no huddle and wear these dudes down! Wow this should be a SB rematch but instead of running Justin whom had a monster day against them pats some I mean everyone feels that a very very very bad pass with a minute remaining on the clock was the way to go and putting our banged up secondary back on the field to save the day! Smh now look at our team "Tore up from the floor up" and facing a mobile QB! Defense will get some three and outs but the Offense is banged up and this mite get ugly the Hawks are gonna try and intimidate our squad in our own back yard! "Next Man Up" and play Raven football! No huddle can help with all the injuries but running up the middle will be a waste of time esp with all the injuries gotta get creative or its a wrap!

Hard to go no-huddle when your QB likes to throw pick-sixes.

If you read the direct quote from Harbaugh on Monroe you can easily tell he is done with the guy, and I can't blame him. Next time guys please do not give out contracts like that unless the guy has legitimate HOF projections which should further incentivize the player beyond signing a huge contract. Guys who go from serviceable to good are NOT worth 5 year deals, they have hit the pinnacle of their career and just want to cash in and go home.

Yeah, this is naive.

1. He's not getting paid anything near what a HOF-level LT makes, so that's irrelevant. He's getting compensated as a serviceable LT.

2. The length of the contract is irrelevant. Players get cut one year into a five year deal all the time. Most long term contracts are essentially three year deals, because after that, the guaranteed money is gone.

Here is how the game will go. It will be tied or very close at half time, then Seahawks will say "Just get the win and get out of here" and KABOOM lights out. 10-27. Its going to be sooooooo much fun watching this secondary.

  1. Maybe you should spend some time actually comprehending what you're reading before you retort. I never said his salary was HOF level salary... quite frankly I think by the time you have HOF credentials you shouldn't be commanding top shelf salary anymore (Ed Reed, Ray Lewis, Strahan...). Let me simplify it for you; I said only players who have HOF projections... meaning they have numbers that if extrapolated over 5 to 10 more years would get them there.
  2. The length of the contract is absolutely relevant (what football league do you follow?!) especially when only a small part of the guaranteed money is applied to the salary cap in the first couple of years. If it were irrelevant teams will arbitrarily give anyone and everyone 10 year deals and cut them whenever they like with no dead money liability. I'm no NFL financial guru and neither are you so please please don't try to go esoteric on me because it exposes you Mr. Naive.
