Week 14 Discussion (Other NFL Teams)

Unfortunately you're correct. Have to hope the Jets and Chiefs win out and keep them out of the playoffs.

I'm on board with that. The Jets winning out complicates things for the Cheetahs too.

Good lord, kahlil Mack had 6 tackles,5 sacks, and a ff today!

ff for safety

Raiders are legit. Another good draft and they will be team to beat in AFC for some time to come.

Have to root for Cincy too. They could lose the division to Pitt.

Fortunately for the Chiefs, Baltimore is on the schedule.

As long as CIN wins one more I think they'll win the division because they have a better conference record. And thankfully, CIN has us on the schedule.

Reggie McKenzie has done a great job with that team.

Definitely - in consecutive drafts they've picked up arguably the best defensive and best offensive player with their first and found decent young QB. Did well overall in both drafts and FA. High picks help but they had them before and didn't get anywhere.

I don't know, IMO they beat Denver, us, and pound Cleveland. They are safe to make the playoffs potentially. Chiefs-Jets battle will be interesting. I think NYJ drops the game against NE.

They beat us and Cleveland but Denver might be tricky for them. I think the Chiefs win out. The Jets are the wild card.

I'm not a big fan of Oswieler honestly. I don't think he is that good. The Jets to me could lose to a Patriots team that is urgent to get a bye with the injuries that hit the Bengals and Denver losing to Oak. They know if they win they pretty much are guaranteed a bye.

Hi All,

Steeler fan here. I come in peace! I promise. LOL. I read this board from time to time because I enjoy the discussions here more than almost anywhere else. I find you guys to be among the most knowledgeable fans regarding not only the ravens but the NFL in general.

Anyway, I wanted to add to the conversation by saying that the Chiefs and Jets winning out does not prohibit the Steelers from making the playoffs. In that scenario we all end up at 11-5. At that point, we would then have a better AFC record than the Jets, which would put us in the 6th seed. That is because they play the Cowboys and we play all AFC teams.

So essentially, we control our own destiny. Will we win out? I'm optimistic but we never know. So hopefully the Pats (gag) will beat the Jets to give us a little breathing room in case we have another brain fart type of game which we definitely could have...or if the D blows another one for us like Seattle.

Lol patriots already getting the calls

Well duh, they are like oh hey the Bengals and Broncos loss so let's ensure the P*triots get the one seed and call everything their way.

What he said. If the Steelers tie with the Jets, the Steelers are in due to a better AFC conference record. That and the Steelers also get to play the Broncos (defense is stout but their offense could only muster 12 points against one of the worse D's in the league in the Raiders) and then the Ravens and Browns (I don't need to explain anything regarding our two teams).

Unless they falter really bad and assuming the Jets lose to the Pats anyways, the AFC seems to be almost set in terms of the 6 teams that will probably get in.

Good lord, the Jaguars are going to be one game out by the end of tonight. The Colts and Texans are playing monkey see, monkey do. Colts win, Texans win. Colts lose, Texans lose.

AFC South if Texans lose:

Colts 6-7

Texans 6-7

Jaguars 5-8

So wait, we might see the jags have a draft position in the 20's? Wow.

The more I watch NE the more I believe PIT will come out of the AFC. Such a shame about Dalton.

No chance, kansas has a better shot

Patriots secondary can be had. Butler has been burnt multiple times tonight for what should have been TD's but Hoyer is just an inept QB. Nate Washington should not be running last anyone at this stage in his career.

They are also starting to drop like flies at the worst possible time.

I'm rooting for the Jaguars to win that division. The Jaguars have gone through so much and for them to win the division even if it means doing it by only winning 7-8 games gives us something new. The AFC South has been dominated by the Colts and Texans, so to see the Jags win it would be great to see.

Going for 2 when up by 3 points. Not a great move by Oakland even though they won

Yeah, that looked strange but they explained it - long snapper was injured on previous play.

I don't see any AFC team that can beat either the Panthers or Cardinals in the Super Bowl come February.

Eh both are beatable, a healthy pats team can easily (well maybe not easily) do it. Chiefs and steelers on their day too arent too shabby.
