Yes, Renner. More than those other two. He'll develop. Renner showed promise in the exhibition games. He should be ahead of Clausen.

I don't know what the deal is with Renner but I sure want to see him get a shot. What little I've seen of him looked pretty good, under the circumstances. The boy has a rocket arm, now let's see his decision making skills. I don't think he would give us any better or worse chance at winning or losing against Seattle and he's a bit younger to take all the punishment whoever is under center is going to get.

Clausen should get a shot too if only because of the enthusiasm on his face when he thought he was going in last week and then the look of disappointment on his face when Shaub whent back out. You can see he has some passion and that's worth a look in my book.

Might as well see what we got with Clausen on the off-chance we sign him next season as a backup. Regardless, I think Oz will be drafting a backup in one of the later rounds of this draft, which is pretty deep at QB, even if it lacks a top-5 talent.

What better way to see what the qb has without having a bunch of receivers who will make him look good.  Anyone who knows Clausen knows he has no strength and that was a knock out of college.  We know what Schaub has, are you happy with either of those as backups.  If so, then you better pray Joe never gets hurt again.  This is basically extended preseason and they evaluate in preseason based on working with the second team so what is the difference now.  Joe was evaluated weekly by bashers who beat him up with these receivers, why not evaluate other qb's under the same criteria we judged Joe.

Well said.

The Ravens also brought in additional insurance to the quarterbacks room by signing Bryn Renner to the practice squad. Renner, who spent training camp with the Ravens, could ultimately get moved to the active roster if Schaub is unable to play.-- DO IT (Shia Labeouf) Just do it!! Go Bryn, Go Renner aka Mini Drew Brees!!

Where are all the Bryn Renner fans? lol

I am a big fan of his and would actually cheer louder for our Offense than having Pick Six Schaub leading our team. If we don't have hopes that Renner can lead our team in the future we are forced to spend a 4th or higher on a QB that can.

The difference is that in preseason games, the backups play with and against backups. Our qb now will be playing with 3rd stringers, against starters. I have seen some elite starting qbs struggle with a supporting cast that's not even as bad as ours, so I think it's unrealistic to evaluate a backup in this situation. The only way I can even imagine a qb playing decent under these circumstances is if we can get the ground game going and Trestman can draw up some well timed screen passes to get Allen the ball in open space, like he did against Miami, but throwing short passes and hoping your RB can make a play is not a good way to evaluate a qb either. Joe being "evaluated by bashers" means absolutely nothing. Disgruntled fans get upset and look for someone to blame. The Ravens coaching staff and FO is much smarter than that.
