[News] Matt Schaub, Jimmy Clausen Could Both Play Sunday

44 posts in this topic

Might as well see if Clausen has grown any or if he is still as bad as ever. Nothing to lose. Not going to win these last three games anyway. Make the best use of the opportunity to evaluate players for next year and beyond.

Well I gather if Matt(pick six)Schaub can't play then Jimmy(clueless)Clausen will play, either way we lose!!!!! It's a lose lose situation.

I'm glad they brought back Bryn Renner, I think he showed a lot of potential in the preseason.

Shaub shouldn't even be on the roster anymore. He has done more harm than good and is closing in on playing time bonuses that he doesn't deserve. His arm is dead and so is his career. It's time to see if the 2 young guys are worth keeping around next year when games actually matter again.

I would decide based on the "pick"ture. Shaub wants to sleep and Clausen looks like he's going to kill someone.

After reading your post, I decided to 'look' at the pictures and you are spot on my man!

We have four more games and I don't have a problem with running 4 qb's through here to see who has the arm and the smarts to play. We know what we have in Schaub. Let Clausen start two games and we will see what we have there. We already saw Renner in preseason so lets get Mallet in here and give him two games. Lets not kid anyone, we know where we are this year and I will still watch and still support the Ravens, lets just see who we have and where. Lets see Arthur Brown, Reuland, lets see more Carl Smith and Zadarius Smith, lets see some Trey Walker and more Daniel Brown. Lets check out the guys who we don't usually get a look at against a good team. I am not saying lets bring in the whole second string, but lets give these guys some plays and see how they perform with the ones. There are plenty of plays in a game that we can see a lot of guys without throwing the game or playing like scrubs.

No huddle will help BIG TIME and stay in the shotgun with a RB by their side! Do not get under center they will prolly rush five and play everyone else back before they start trying shooting LBers up the gaps trying to intimidate our squad!

Recipe for disaster.

Schaub has never been a good QB in the shotgun.

This is not good. Joe will not be back till late next season. The way Matt has been playing probably will not be back and if the Ravens start a rookie QB next season to cover for Joe you might as well throw away next year.

1. December 2. January 3. February 4. March 5. April 6. May 7. June 8. July 9. August Joe will be back anywhere from May to August, based on the timeline released by the team. Next year is not a throw away at this point.

No reason to suspect Joe won't be under center week 1.

"Late next season"  - uhhhh, only if his knee heals at Brashad-level slowness.

That's not what the doctors said on 105 the fan. Physically and mentally 100% the doctor said 2017. With no left tackle I would not even try.

They can only operate ACL then come back and do the MCL. Ravens need a good backup QB. You want these guy under center for next year? Call the Fan.

Physically 100% doesn't matter. He's not physically 100% by week 2 of a normal season without an ACL tear.

Also, I would literally never listen a a word anybody says on 105.7 the fan. Literally no less credible radio station for information on the planet.

They aren't operating on the MCL, so that's not an issue.

I really don't think you can evaluate a qb with what we have on offense right now. You could bring Aaron Rodgers in here and he would look terrible.

I'm sure the WRs and TE's we are evaluating would love to have a different QB throwing to them every week as well...

What better way to see what the qb has without having a bunch of receivers who will make him look good.  Anyone who knows Clausen knows he has no strength and that was a knock out of college.  We know what Schaub has, are you happy with either of those as backups.  If so, then you better pray Joe never gets hurt again.  This is basically extended preseason and they evaluate in preseason based on working with the second team so what is the difference now.  Joe was evaluated weekly by bashers who beat him up with these receivers, why not evaluate other qb's under the same criteria we judged Joe.

I am happy with Joe Flacco he is a good quarterback, but people act like he can't be criticized. He wasan't having his best season and thats fine. I support him but have a problem of people being critical at times of his play this year

Carson Palmer (at 35 years old) had his 2nd major surgery on his ACL last year at this time, he seems to been playing decent this year. Tom Brady, Darrell Revis, Von Miller, Gronk, Sam Bradford, Honey Badger all had torn ACL surgery and played the following year.
