Even if he was underperforming, it seems really odd for the Seahawks to get rid of a corner this late in the season. He must have really rubbed someone the wrong way or broke some team rule.

His play has always been average at best. He had a good debute with them. Then spiraled out of control blowing coverages, to the point there was a fees games that Sherman actually moved all over the field to cover number 1s ( not that it was successful lol ).

I was thoroughly amused when the Eagles gave Cary the type of money that they did (and that he thought he deserved).  I was never a fan of his while he was here, hot headed and couldn't walk the walk.  Not surprising that he's ended up on the street.

 

I'm sure someone will pick him up at a discount price, but I doubt he'll last anywhere too long.
