Bryn renner petition

I like Renner, but the fact that he's not even on our PS right now should show our real feelings of him.  He's a good kid with a lot of heart and passion, but he lacks a lot of arm talent for the NFL game.

If I thought it would do a hill of beans of good I would sign it in a heartbeat.

He is young and moldable.  Schaub is old and moldy.

( okay not really about Schaub, but I thought it was clever to say )

i was going to make this same thread. if you are going to lose every game do it with someone you know isn't going to throw a pick six every single start.

We need to stop giving Ozzie a free pass. His moves have cost the ravens both in the draft and in the offseason.

Torrey smith let go too early without a proven no. 1 to take his place.

Getting an expensive backup Matt schuab and letting tyrod taylor go?

But we really need to change our draft philosophy and get some home runs. We can't trade back and expect super star caliber talent.  We need influx of talent not journey men.

1. Why would he replace a #2 with a #1 when the reason the #2 left is because we couldn't even afford him, much less a real #1. As we have seen, Torrey was a product of Flacco's talents.

2. Err...maybe because Tyrod was never coming back because he wanted a chance to start?

3. It's not our philosophy that needs to change. Just our luck. Of course you can trade back and reasonably expect to still get an impact player. 95% of the top players in the league today were not top 5 picks. I'll admit the Oher pick sucked, I felt he had bust stamped on his forehead and was pretty annoyed we took him. But Kindle? Just dumb, bad luck. Jimmy? Unlucky that he has suffered through several injuries since being drafted.  Elam, we dropped the ball with. Perriman, again, just bad luck. Other than that, we almost never miss in the 1st round. Boller/Taylor/Clayton were the only flat out busts we have drafted, along with Oher and Elam. Five out of 19 were busts...that's a phenomenal ratio

IMO, we should have kept Renner as our backup QB coming out of camp, and eaten Shuab's contract, which was a bad signing to begin with.

If ever a player earned a spot based on performance, it was Renner. He showed that he understood the position and that the game wasn't too big for him.

I've stated in another thread about Bryn Renner's heart and passion. He gave it all and seems to have a little clutch factor. He just plays like Raven in my opinion. I rather start him them Jimmy Clausen. What's wrong with giving the young guy a chance in an already lost season?

I still don't believe the results would be pretty with Renner at the helm, but I'd much rather see him out there playing his butt off than having to witness Jimmy Clausen attempt to throw a football.

Yeah, total bummer.

I wish we signed Mallett, not Clausen. Mallett would likely be late for the game and Renner gets his start.
