I am done watching the Ravens for the year until they make some changes. First we had to deal with Marc Trestman and his horrible play calling as OC while we had all of our top tier players healthy, and look what happened. Now some genius brought in Matt Schaub who can't throw the ball over 20 yards (age) and when he does it is in perfect form for an interception. Why do you think Houston was done with him? Get rid of these 2, and maybe I'll watch the rest of the season.

"the Ravens blocked an extra point attempt and Derrick Brooks picked up the ball and ran it in for a touchdown"

...I wish we had Derrick Brooks on our team

Trestman has had a lot of issues this year on 3rd down and in the red zone, I will definitely agree to that.  But overall he's been pretty good.  There are excuses that could be made for him.  First of all, we never had "all of our top tier players healthy". We never had Pitta or Perriman see the field this year, which meant that we were working with rookies & Gillmore (a 2nd year player who was never supposed to be more than a blocking tight end in the NFL) at tight end, and a bunch of undrafted guys + a 36 year old SSR at the WR position.  That's not exactly a murderer's row of playmakers.  He was working with a banged up O Line where our left tackle was replaced for most of the season by the worst offensive linemen in the NFL this year in Hurst.

That's not "all of our top tier players healthy".  SSR was dealing with injuries ever since week 4 or when he had the back injury, so the one real WR we had on this team was not only an old man on the brink of retirement, but he wasn't even fully healthy for more than 3 games this year.  Gillmore, the other of our best playmakers from the beginning part of the seaosn, has also missed a lot of time due to injuries.  He hasn't missed many full games, but he's been absent for "the remainder of the game" starting usually at the end of the first half or early in the second half due to in-game injuries during something like 5 different games this year, in addition to 2 entire games he's missed, one of which was during that time when we supposedly had "all our top tier players healthy" on offense.

Just because SSR and Flacco didn't go to IR until more than half the season was over didn't mean we were healthy at all the important positions!  The front office neglected the WR position in this off-season anyway.  Even if every player signed to this team was 100% healthy this season, we'd still have a weak WR corps anyway, depending on whether Perriman quickly became a dominant receiver or not.

We've had injuries at WR, TE, RB, and perhaps most importantly LT for the entire season.

Yeah because you can totally draft a DE and convert him to OLB without any developmental problems, and game-changing safeties can easily be picked up off the street. Come on man, we've been trying to get safety help for years now, our signings and draft picks just haven't been the answer. We've drafted DEs in almost every draft, we drafted a Safety in the first round not that long ago. This year we drafted an OLB rd 4, last year a DT and Safety in rounds 2 and 3 (our first round pick was an MLB), the year before that we drafted a safety first round. Will Hill looks like our safety of the future. I wanna see them move Webb to safety full time, and draft a talented CB if one is available, and maybe Trey Walker can develop.

1. Upshaw. Jarret Johnson. Adalius Thomas. Terrell Suggs etc. were all D-lineman before playing OLB. Its a proven strategy that good defenses use to build a strong run D. You ever think about the fact that maybe they don't have to play OLB on every package.

2. You saying "we've been trying to get safety help for years" sounds like the fault of our staff not being able to find the right talent, and NOT because it is hard to find them.

Game doesn't matter how well a team plays. Not with the officiating being stilted. You could take a team of 'superheros' in this league and they might lose due to poor ref performance. Not sure what the cause is for that but it does tend to diminish the game to almost nothing. The 'winners' have no glory if they get there by the cheating lying refs bad decisions. The losers have nothing to hang their head about if they get there by the cheating lying refs.

I actually like Marc Trestman. The problem is we lack an explosive offense, too many injuries and too many so-so players. This offseason will be the point where we see if this team can make a turn around. If not, then that means guys need to be re evaluated and fired.

My thoughts, Schaub should never have been signed as backup, he has confirmed all rumors that have been said about him. Prepare for the slaughter to commence, there is very little chance the Ravens are going to even come close to winning another game verses the last 4 opponents. Steve Bisciotti is this your idea of a competitive team, what happened to winning the division? I expect more out of Ravens football!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im just saying that Trestman doesn't throw anything at any of the team defenses we play. Always the same routine, run the ball on 1st and 2nd down, then a pass on 3rd down. Boom, 3 & out or like the past 2 games Schaub delivers a lazy interception. Trestman needs to be more aggressive on 1st/2nd downs to keep the defense on they're heels no matter who is lined up for us at WR/Slot/TE. Matt Schaub's stats and his gameplay shows that he likes to give gifts to the other team. I think he should have had 5 interceptions yesterday. I just think the Dolphins were falling asleep waiting for Schaub to loft the ball to them

You are literally the first fan I've heard suggest that Trestman is a run, run, pass, punt OC. In fact, most things he's done has shown the exact opposite.

You do realize the biggest knock on him is that he doesn't run the ball enough correct? 494 pass attempts vs 297 rushing attempts. That's a 62%/38% pass/run ratio.

You can't possibly have that ratio if you running the ball on first and second down everytime, particularly when every game you've played is a one score game.

Trestman has done a decent job with the tools and talent he has available to him I think. It is time to get behind all our coaching staff as they get into the final quarter of the season. They are beating themselves up way more than we are beating up on them, trust me! To them winning has to be personal or they wouldn't be coaching at the highest levels of the sport!

I am cynical enough but watching the officiating makes me think the refs at least, do their best to make the games come down the last play and at worst, have an agenda as to who wins. The NFL had a record number of teams still in the playoff hunt, are on pace for a record number of TD's and are on pace for a record number on one-score games. Yes, this is entertainment, not sport anymore.

But let's not lie to ourselves, even with our starters healthy we were failing to punch the ball from the 5-10 yard line all year.

When were our starters healthy?

man it'd be great to have Tyrod as a backup right now.

of course having said that: have to acknowledge that we dont have Sammy Watkins or Lesean McCoy so the product probably wouldnt be the same as in Buffalo anyway, despite the fact that Tyrod does seem to have genuinely improved in several areas.

Ya, it's hard to believe that the officiating crew has taken several steps backward this year but that PI call was BS and had me jumping and screaming. We all know there are bad calls and you just live with them because most of them are close one way or the other and our passions may sway us one way or the other however, they could have waived off the flag because it was brought to their attention BEFORE the next play on the huge 200' screen they have but they kept their hands in their pockets. If this continues to happen, they are going to lose a lot of fans really quick. One thing we won't stand for is a "Fix" and it is sure starting to smell that way to me!

There will be not more "close" game from here on out. Your about to see where the Ravens really rank in the NFL.

My thoughts on Trestman don't mean crap but I really wonder is with Joe and the offense think. It was the defense that started this year off bad then the offense.
