[News] The Breakdown: Eisenberg's Five Thoughts vs. Dolphins

...it really did look like we might pull this one out under the wire, but as has been the way all our games end this year, we're one play short of getting the "W." Our penalties were considerably less than normal but we gotta be able to move the chains consistenly on 3rd now and stay away from the 3rd and long situations where they know we're gonna put the ball in the air. I thought we could've used our tightends more, before Gilmore got hurt. I hope he's not out for any extended period of time, cause Max Wms is already out.

As bad as things have been... I must say I am very optimistic... just think... we put up 400 yds of offense with third and forth stringers... N.E. going through the same thing and yet they are struggling at home against Philly as we speak... so no matter what I am proud of my squad... Go Ravens

Something is really, really wrong here. I know the Ravens are not a playoff team, not even close but; how could the average high school jv team lose to Miami. I thought the Browns were a really bad team not next to Miami. geeze This was one awful team how could we lose??

Something is really wrong, it's not the Ref's or the other team(they sucked ), or bad luck or the QB - it's us. I don't know how we could lose to these terrible teams, it's just unexplainable.

The game was so boring I nodded off a few times. Harbaugh needs to stop all the rah, rah nonsense sit down with his crew and examine this team top to bottom and figure out how to change this endless willingness to lose.

And the real sad part is that even this way we may drop out of the top 10 in the draft... (don't get me wrong, I never rooted for us to lose - but if we did, it would be good if it at least helped us get a top-10 pick...)

The Ravens are the worst team in the NFL is short yardage situations. They fail time and time again on third and one and fourth and one. Maybe the defense is playing better, and just as likely it is the awful competition that is making them look better than they are. Wait until they play Pittsburgh or Cincinnati and see how it goes before trumpeting their improvement. The officials kiled the Ravens early with that bogus offensive pass interference call. Just ridiculous. The officiating is the worst I have ever seen, and not just for the Ravens. We just feel it more because our inept team can't overcome these terrible calls.

We need new a OC and a DC

Man, I know your pain and desperation, and I also know that people may tend to say stupid things when angry or disillusioned... but fire Trestman??? He barely has any of his primary assets, he has to work with by far the most makeshift and junkyard assortment of players - still we have a near-top 10 O... And you would fire the guy???

Really???

Just study the injured roster - there's a huge chunk of your answer ;)

schaub's incessant need to throw pick sixes, i don't know if there are fans willing to play the rest of the season with clausen as qb, lol. that was a surprise for me to learn. knock on wood, we don't see that happen.

I enjoyed the game...sort of. The refs need the boot. Too many obvious mistakes to give them a pass anymore. At the end of the day I prefer the higher pick than the W but I understand the W gives thee young guys confidence going forward and they need to learn to win. Ultimately, I came away from this with more appreciation for Joe. He takes the same shots Matt took today but Joe gets right back up and heads to the huddle with barely a grimace. I know Matt stayed in but you know what I mean.

That's just plain not true. In fact, our record on 4th down is very good.

Well, I guess the only reason we should still put our best deployable QB out on the fieldis because that's how we can assess our young guns - and Schaub is still better than Clausen - even with his trademark knack for throwing pick-sixes :) Not sure if Clausen could have tossed that pass to Dan Brown, for example...

BTW - are the refs indeed making many more blatant and potentially game-changing errors this season, or do we just have a bigger share of them than in the recent years, and that's why it seems so for us, Ravens fans?

The narrative this season, especially for the Ravens has been the awful and incompetent officiating. Apparently nobody is allowed to talk about it. The NFL network didn't mention it when discussing the Ravens game. The only way it can get better is when there is accountability, and the only way there will be accountability is when coaches, players, owners, and the NFL controlled media can talk about it without fear of punishment. The commissioners office first objective is to spin their brand in a positive way and be in control. Thee is no interest in truth, integrity, players welfare, or fair relevant discipline. It's only a matter of time before they kill the goose that laid the golden egg.

That's a loss that actually made me smile.

The D has been playing better and better and just dominated this game!

The 15 points were scored on a freakish minute and a half before halftime.

Trestman finally trusted the runing game and moved the ball beautifully. Schaub threw horrible passbut the WRs bailed him out a few times.

7 points were taken away with a horrible PI call.

That third and 4 down was a good call by harbs. U gotta get a damn yard when your down there.

I don't feel bad abt that game at all

I didn't see the game just last 4 minutes of it...so based on comments here we dominated..,at least that was good. I'm looking forward to spoiling playoff hopes for Seahawks, Pittsburg...and then just beating Bengals who are playoff bound regardless, but to beat them at the last game this season is a nice way to go out at least.

Well we played fairly well and it wasn't an embarrassment and the silver lining is we are heading for a nice draft position. Do we have all 7 positions? I hope so.

Jimmy Smith not playing with heart

The Offensive PI call was THEE worst call I have ever seen. Our Tight Ends always getting injured is a concern as well.

Unfortunately, we appear to have over signed Jimmy Smith.  Ouch.

Both.

I'm not sure at what point owners, coaches and players step up and start pointing out the pathetic officiating going on across the NFL. In my opinion, the time is now! If you watched thie Ravens game and the Lions v. Packers game the other night plus the countless other instances of atrociously poor officiating across the league, it's time to start screaming. This isn't football anymore. This is more like watching WWE. This is all about people making a buck, not a sporting event. Sad...

Haha - once a Raven always a Raven: Jacoby seems to be doing everything he can so he won't have to wear that hideous jersey for long :D
