[News] Matt Schaub On Interceptions: That Was The Difference

41 posts in this topic

This is why I don't like pocket passing QBs! Move the pocket and no INTs not one but two tips at the line of scrimmage! Mobile QBs are taking over and it's better to be ahead of the game then play catch up! Get another QB like Tyrod "PLEASE"! Tyrod won today for the Haters! 3 TDs! Other than two INTs Matt had a good day! Top 5

Any qb in the league would throw a lot of ints with this offense, which is basically our preseason offense at the skill positions. We've even played 2 of the worst defenses in the league the last couple games. It's going to be interesting to see what happens against when we play some competent defenses.

Nope, that's just you saying that. Doctors have said that barring setbacks, he should be ready to go by training camp. Carson Palmer tore his acl at about the same time last year, and he is having the best year of his career. There is a long list of athletes that came back at full strength the season after tearing an acl and/or mcl.

It looks like Shaub is pretty much giving up on his NFL career, and honestly I cant criticize him. My problem is this, who ever went ahead with the decision to have Shaub as our go-to guy behind Flacco needs to be re evaluated. Because these problems with Shaub are things that a lot of people knew...except for our staff smh. Its almost as if our staff is just as guilty for these losses.

Did the Ravens know what Matt was like before he came here? Another great decision there.

Exactly, some of our top staff guys need to be re evaluated. The changes they make this upcoming off season will be the point where we see if this is just a bad stump season.. or if people need to be fired.

And I now see why people think Pees should be fired, hes our defensive coordinator, who is supposed to be the coach of the defense...yet this guy sits up top in the Box and calls plays from a headset in A/C

These 2 INTS though instrumental to our loss today are not egregious at all. Both were batted balls and if anything the second one was probably a throw Schaub should've avoided. To be fair, we in Baltimore have seen far more ridiculous INTs this year, some by Schaub himself and others by Flacco too.

I disagree. Schaub is not a good QB. His career was over 2 or 3 yrs ago. Just look at his release, his wind- up. He throws from the hip. A lot of QBs would take our offense today and beat a lot of teams. At this point, the organization knows we aren't going to the playoff, so they're just going to go with whomever is playing QB. Signing Matt Schaub would be hurting a lot more now if we we're playing for a playoff spot. One thing is certain; Schaub is not here next year, and Claussen isn't either. All of a sudden with Flacco injured, and his return to form in question for at least several weeks into next season and Tyrod Taylor gone, the QB situation for next year has become a big problem.

Me. (though both passes were tipped, not really bad throws)

Yes they were, plus really bad decisions. Do you guys really think Schaub will win vs seahawks? I dont. Schaub has a really big mental problem with the INTS, The playbook with schaub is 99% Play action.

I never said Schaub was a good qb. I said any qb in the league would throw a lot of int in this offense, and there is no evidence to suggest otherwise. Tom Brady has developed a knack for throwing ints recently, and his receiving corps is less depleted than ours, and he played at home against a horrible defense today. Aaron Rodgers has been pretty bad the last 6 weeks without Jordy Nelson, even though he still has Cobb and just about all the other starters at skill positions. So who are these qb's who could take our offense today and beat a lot of teams? Even the qbs who are considered the best in the game struggle with one or two of their weapons out, and we have all of our starting skill players out.

Sure, because RG3 & Colin Kaepernick are taking over the league....lol

I heard that after Schaub retires from football, he's going to open up a beer store, and call it...wait for it...you know.

I think we need to go easy on Schaub here. Yes he has a propensity for pick 6s' and throws interceptions. But, like Flacco he has the ability to shut out his bad plays and come back to play well. He like Flacco has a short memory. But, mostly what can we expect having lost Flacco for the season? He was a great option for us and we are lucky to have him right now. Don't forget he's been to 2 pro bowls and has been a pro bowl MVP too! Let's cut him some slack and get behind him for the next 4 games. It doesn't matter what the outcome is, but the Ravens have been in every one of the 12 games they've played this season, every single one of them.

There are much worse backup QBs than Schaub in this league. Not all of them would go so long throwing pick 6s every game. So all that tells me is that the guy is a decent QB, but he's stuck in some fluky, jinxy, rut that a fan base that's more mature than Houston's can be patient about while he digs himself out of it. Until that time all we can do is smile about the strange alignment of stars that're causing this freakish streak and say things like "welp, there's that customary pick 6 for the game, now let's play ball."

Schaub needs to not throw INTs the same way no other QB needs to throw INTs for their team. However, he is not a bad QB. He's been making some epic throws for us these last two games as well, his chemistry with Chris Givens is impressive. Actually, he quite reminds me of Joe Flacco, being able to throw a bonehead play, but clear it up with the next opportunity. Also, to prevent pick6es, offense needs to know how to tackle. It sucks, you never want your QB to throw an interception, but you have to know how to handle when he does. Hope for sunshine, prepare for rain. Both the deflections - if the defense can make the play on that, our offense should have also been able to. And one more thing - we have to protect the QB way better than the OL did last night. Was that for real? Schaub looked by the punching bag and defense consistently got around the tackles to make hits. Not acceptable. Every player is accountable.

Schaub is just being Schaub. INT's are the norm with his play. As long as he is the starter there is a good chance that we will wind up with a low draft pick. A 4-12 record seems to be looming on the horizon now. I can't see them winning another game this season.

If we do happen to be playing well, count on the officials to play a big part in taking the chance to win away with those asinine calls that they are hitting us with each week now. These crews are pathetic and until the owners decide that they have had enough of this trash it will continue. Remember, it is all about the money. As long as the green keeps rolling in they will ignore all of the incompetence that we see from the Officials. It is time for the NFL front office to see a major change though. Only the owners can make that happen.

This may not be pretty against Seattle. They are gearing up for the playoffs while we are still trying to find consistency for just one game.

Matt had good numbers and trying to throw him under the bus for green points is getting old he made top five earlier big ben prolly pushed him out slinging that Rock Sunday night! Joe throws INTs it everybody and they momma fault but Joe's and Joe doesn't make the top ten anymore because he doesn't play with no motivation anymore staring down WRs and doesn't show any type of creativity what so ever and just takes sacks! Need a mobile QB with a arm the opposite of Joe to keep up with changing times! How many times has Matt been sacked?!

I said it before and I'll say it again! MATT SCHAUB SUCKS! How many more touchdowns can he produce for the other team before the rest of you are honest about this? He throws the ball well and has moments of competency, but he also throws too many touchdowns for THE WRONG TEAM! Given the current record and the time of season, let someone else have a try. If the Ravens still have that rookie they were playing in preseason, they should take a serious look at him.
