I think 154 million/seven years is a strong offer. The waiting is annoying me though. Of course I only own two jerseys, Markakis and Davis, so I probably jinxed that deal. :(

Well at least you got one jersey that'll be good forever.. The greek god

If Davis turns that money down I couldn't even get mad at the O's for not signing him. That's a more than fair offer, especially from Angelos, for a guy like Davis.

The singles machine...gone but not forgotten

The right field machine. The plate discipline machine. The OBP machine. The offseason beard machine

What else could you want in a baseball player.. Come on

You have no idea how much I miss that Greek god! It was a dagger in my heart that I will never recover from, ever. :( At least I can stare at my Nick bobble head when I get too down about it. :P

Totally agree.

The thing that truly frustrates me more than anything about Davis is the fact that the Orioles are probably not pursuing other guys (Hayward, Gordon), who could have been huge, or pursuing guys still on the market (Cespedes, Upton), who likely will be good signings, because they're waiting on Chris Davis to actually get back to them. The Orioles could do a lot more damage with that money, but hey, I guess putting all your eggs into one basket is a good idea.

The baseball offseason is awful.  Everything moves so slow, especially if you're an Orioles fan.

Well, Chen is gone. :(

Never expected him back. He was so offended when the Orioles sent him down for a "rest" that I knew he'd be gone.

I knew he would be gone too, but that is yet another hole we have to fill...and not with some last minute discount bin pitcher!

Made an offer to cespedes

According to few people on Twitter

Id rather have Davis than Cespedes. Way better obp.

Personally I believe if we don't resign Davis and get a left hand starter that's capable of eating innings then this offseason is a lost cause and we wont be the better for it.

Would love to have Yoedis be apart of the core. I trust in Buck keeping him in check & giving the OK for us to offer that to him. Would be a nasty lineup but need some lefts

Also even though I have no way of backing this up, I believe he gives us the same "clutch gene" in the lineup, we lost with Cruz...

What if we somehow sign Cespedes & Davis accepts something far less than what we offered..... Dream I know, but a man can dream.

Kim (hopefully adjusts to majors quickly)

Manny

Jones

Davis

Cespedes

Schoop (Believe he'll have have bigger breakout year)

Trumbo

Wieters/Joseph

Hardy (hopeful for big bounce back)

Whatever order you put em in, that lineup could carry a team headed by Buck, average SP & great BP to the postseason.

Apparently the O's have moved on from Davis. I wanted Davis back, but if he does not want to except our max offer than we need to go after some other good players and I am ok with that.

Yeah I am fine with Davis leaving. If he really cared about the team, he would have signed by now. Plus I still remember 2014. Now we need to go out and sign a power hitter and another pitcher.

Yep.  Give me Cespedes/Upton, a quality SP, and Pedro Alvarez if you can get him on a one year deal and I'd be happy.

Only issue is that they waited so long that there aren't any high quality pitchers left out there..

I don't think they have completely moved on from Davis, they are posturing. They want him back, but they drew the line in the sand saying 154 Milliion is a ton of money...and a very fair deal..either take it soon or we are going to sign Cespedes

I'm shocked. Mixed emotions. That's ALOT of $ for Davis.

I'm guessing Manny is probably gone in a few years.

Happy he's back & the O's proved they will spend but I'm just conflicted.

Wow I never thought the O's would up the offer since no team seemed willing to even offer Davis what the original offer was. I am glad Davis is back, but that is a lot of money for one player. I hope he earns it for those six years.

I do have to say that I am glad that Pete is allowing Dan to spend money to try to keep the team competitive. Davis has really turned into a good first baseman and his leaving would have left a big void. I just hope he stays healthy and continues to crush a lot of balls out of the park for years.

Boras is just not to be messed with.

As lifetime O's fan, I never thought I'd feel this way reacting to 100+ contract. Happy he's back. Assuming this means no Cespedes & that was all a ploy...Still having foolish hope though we bring him in next lol

Peter must really love him some CD.

Its not much when you look at the overall value of the contract, but somehow, we ended up paying $7M more than the reported original offer.  Did we bid against ourselves?
