[News] Late For Work 12/2: Time To Acknowledge John Harbaugh Doing Fantastic Job

66 posts in this topic

While we have been on the short end too often, every game this season has been very watchable. We have not had to listen to the boo birds that often show up at the stadium (think first half of last year's Browns game). That is because this team has played its heart out every week. True fans know that and appreciate it greatly. I feel that my season ticket money this year has been well spent.

To all the fans that rather us lose for a better draft position. Go kick rocks. A Harbaugh led team will never quit, keep grinding Ravens, us true fans will still be there every home game supporting you.

Well deserved credit to John Harbaugh. Painful to read how the Jacksonville win would still have us in playoff hunt...that one still stings.

One refs call and one bad pass/dropped pass and we are tied with the Steelers and in the hunt. I know that means absolutely nothing, except to me. It shows me that for all the hot air being thrown around on talk radio and in the media that we have crappy players, a ton of holes and its going to be years before we get it back together, I don't believe it. I stick by the secondary getting better every game. Yes there are errors like Will Hill just dropping coverage, but Shareece Wright and Kendrick Lewis both had very good games and are starting to work better together every game. Pass rush is improving and the Ravens started putting Orr in for Smith on passing downs. Buck and West are good, our TE's are very good, our young linemen are getting play time and Schaub is a game manager and managed to win. For me, I would like to see Clausen. Lets see if this young gun can serve as a vital backup to Flacco next year and lets see if he can sling that ball downfield.  He has a rep for a weak arm so lets see what he has.

I have heard increasingly positive comments about the Ravens fighting spirit despite adversity and a losing record from multiple national sources. I feel proud of our team and respect that they have stayed positive and stuck together to tough out every game. Case in point, according to the NFL Network, the #1 play in the league this week is the "Kick 6", Urban block, Hill TD. It was a remarkable play but it even ranked above another super human TD from Odell Beckham Jr.. Faith and guts is working Harbs, your team is playing their hearts out til the last whistle. Proud to be a Ravens fan, win or lose.

Gotta respect Harbaugh. At first I was kind of skeptical of his coaching, but this season is a huge learning experience for him and the entire team. Once we get regrouped this offseason we will be fine.

If Coons missed, then we still have overtime and a potential loss. Glad it went the way it did. We're having a bad year, but Cleveland has had a bad 50 years. Puts things in perspective. Also, I think people put way too much emphasis on what a #1 draft pick means. Often times, players picked later in the draft end up being probowlers, whereas first-round picks don't amount to much.

Normally around the NFL when teams have a bad record, and star players and starters get hit with the injury bug, and games being lost in the mere last seconds of the game, The teams get down on themselves and it is very noticeable that the effort level becomes non existant. That, in turn usually leads to coaches losing the team and the locker room becomes toxic. None of this has happened and that is a total tribute to Harbaugh. Even at 4-7 he has this team beliveing even when most of the football world including Raven's fans have lost faith. Just watching the effort and emotion of the players Monday night should make you swell up with pride. It did me. Not too long ago, lots of people on this website were screaming for Harbaugh to be fired. That is hard to believe. Harbaugh has this team playing as hard as ever with NO QUIT anywhere to be seen. Now that is coaching. Great job Harbs!! Go Ravens.

I'm proud of that team, and i hope they keep having close victories all season long : this is how our young players will be used to performing in the clutch and that will help in the long run - much more than losing out to get a higher draft pick. A winning culture is much more valuable than a few spots higher on the draft board, just ask the Browns. If you draft well, you draft well regardless of your position on the board.

Could someone tell Dean Pees Stop taking Darryl Smith off the field on that predictable 3rd and long package... With Orr and whoever dropping in no mans land in that weak zone coverage.... How u gonna take arguably your best defender as far as awareness of the field on a crucial down... I know he's not great in man coverage but his instincts makes up for it. wake up!

You could just tell before the game Monday night by his demeanor that he had finally come to terms with this season and was at complete peace. He has gotten this team to fight every single week this season even against teams we had no business contending with. So much for him being on the hot seat. How stupid were those reactions?

Note: harbs looks like such a dweeb in that picture with the love your melon hat on! Lol. Gotta love the cause though.

Football shows us how funny people are. On the one hand we have all these concussion protocols and emphasize against dangerous collisions. Fans and media all "agree" how important this is. On the flip side the media is celebrating (okay "acknowledging in a non-negative fashion") that it was Timmy Jernigans third QB that he's knocked out and making sure to emphasize that "don't worry, it was a legal hit". Which is it going to be people? As long as it's not illegal we should feel happy that Timmy Jernigan broke Josh Mccowns collar bone? (and yes I saw the tweet that stated that "he's not celebrating" but come on there is some glorification going on.) Let's be real for a moment

Harbaugh's leadership and coaching has been great this season. As for giving Jernigan credit for taking out McCown, I don't think so. That credit must go to Upshaw. It was his physical force applied to McCown's upper body that caused McCown's collarbone to break. Jernigan made a textbook tackle and those tackles rarely cause an injury. The video doesn't lie. Go Ravens!

Great game the other night . Good job coach Harbs on keeping this locker room intact. Nice clean football hit by Timmy! It's a good feeling sitting at the table with friends and talk about who won and lost this week and your team won.

Still work to do. We may just have to pay attention to snap chat.

Not going to say that we got lucky, but that the ball finally bounced our direction.

Daryl Smith can absolutely not cover. Upshaw can absolutely not cover. Webb and Lewis are so scared to hit anyone. Will Hill plays way to soft in coverage. Jimmy is looking like 3rd corner. After all of that, Peas has his secondary lining up 10-15 yards off the ball on a 3rd and 5. Please have the first down, opponent.

I had to get that off my chest. Yes, we got a win, but something has to be done.

Btw, Trestman, Schaub has no throw zones. He gets picked off in the same areas of the field. Keep him throwing on the sidelines and directly over the center. Its got to get better. the end.

as long as it was a legal hit isn't the goal to hit the opposing team as hard as possible? Nobody is glorifying him being hurt but the goal is to cream the guy as hard as possible, and Jernigan did a good job of doing that within the rules. Sorry but that's football. Those who don't like it can go play tiddly winks or volleyball.

Funny...so many people on here was calling for his job... John has done an outstanding job since he has arrived here... he fights hard and has his team doing the same... the only thing I would have done different was to hire Kyle Shanahan as OC... It would have given the team continuity for once in a long time... he is a great offensive mind that has the run game clicking... just check his track record... Washington hasn't run the ball well since he left... neither have the Browns... with him in Atlanta now the run the ball effectively... but I digress... Have had Harbs back all season... this is my guy no matter whose on the field you get their maximum effort... Now Dean Pees on the other hand.. exit stage left... lol
