[News] Buck Allen And Terrance West A 'Top-Notch' 1-2 Punch

I like both these guys... but... I couldn't get enough fantasy points with Buck because we used Terrence West... LOL.

They looked good as a 1-2 punch. West looked pretty nifty for being a heavier back just getting thrown back into a rotation. I'd like to see what they can do against a good run defense.

Confident in both Buck and West. With Joe out, it is even more critical than ever to lean on the run game. Looking forward to next year, the rest of this season needs to be spent experimenting with and developing a better run/pass balance.

Very impressed with both of these young men...... Buck is a pounder if ever I saw one, AND he can catch the ball. I do wish they had run the ball much more last night....... Looking forward to see so much more of them both for the remainder of the season. :)

I think we can rely on them more in the next few games to help minimize Schaub's propensity for INTs. The make-shift O-line did a good job last night too. There's some hope for next year - get these young guys (all of them) work the rest of this year and they'll be that much better for next year's run.

I tend to think the reluctance to use the rb's as much in games is the history of injuries, etc at that position in this year of ir players. Ravens mngmt. seems to have a knack for picking 'em though. And probably should go ahead and use them more.

I want to see them do it again this next week against a better run defense. They had a good game but Cleveland's run defense the last 2 or 3 years has been known to be the worst..

I am impressed not only with Buck and West but with the run design, the blocking schemes were effective and the browns are not the easiest team to run on. I like what we did... and that is with a make shift OL... Looking forward to see how this continues to build on the offensive side of the ball!

T West may prove to be a steal. I like his change of pace and he is elusive. Hope this opportunity allows both he and buck to develop as a professional!

I like Trestman as the O-coordinator, I just wish he let our guys run more. But, on the other hand, being over-dependent on the run has gotten the entire offense shut DOWN in the past. Perhaps he's onto something...different offensive style for different opponents...has its benefits.

At least Trestman is ours for now. I doubt anyone is in a hurry to hire him as head coach.

I'll reserve my opinion until after Pittsburgh. If they produce yards. great. Schaub isn't that accurate. We need to rely on the running game over 100 yds every game here on out. I'm thinking that too many passes, with Schaub throwing the ball, is too risky. After the Browns, the jury's still out.

i dont understand why we kept passing so much when the run game was effective.

None of us do. I'd like an official explanation.

effective in spurts. Cleveland wasnt altogether porous, especially since we had so many backups on the line. They stiffened up on and off through out the game. We had a lot of 1 yard or no gain first down runs that put us in long situations. Then we started one drive on our own one yard line, running is not an option there at all.

The way i look at this is we double dipped ending up with West, Browns moved up to get him, and we ended up with Taleferio, and now we got both.....

Liked the way West juked around in a zigzag fashion instead of just barreling headlong into the D. Let's just hope he puts some of his troubles behind him and understands one only gets so many chances in pro sports. The window of opportunity can be very small, indeed.

I'm not convinced @ all. Neither has breakout speed or elusiveness. For the bruising, yes. Anything else, no.

I'm still looking for them to upgrade the bunch with one or two maybe sticking around.

Do you even know who Buck Allen is?

I still am not impressed with Pass Happy Trestman. Last year Ravens were 8th in running and now 18. Three straight passes from the Ravens end zone with Matt as QB! Just asking for trouble. Ravens are going to run into a playoff caliber team and that's where reality is going to slap the snot right out of them.

True, they did VERY well. But it was one game and against the Browns. I know Buck did it the week before as well but still that was the Rams. Lets just see what they can do the rest of the way.

The Browns are tough to run on? You may want to do some research and see where they are currently ranked against the run.

Buck Who ? Your on his train but currently I'm not ! He shows upside and competence. He's just not the home run hitter quite yet ! Different strokes for different folks, little buddy ! Besides my post didn't exactly call out one particular player or Buck.lol.

Too much sugar in that purple cool-aid.

Cleveland isn't a team i'd spy for a litmus test……

It takes the body of work.

Actually, even with it being Shaub doing the throwing, I thought it safer to pass than to run the ball in that situation. We were backed up on our 1/2 yard line. If the Browns were to stuff us on a running play, it would almost certainly have resulted in a safety. As it turned out, Matt was able to get the first down when his third pass was a completion to Crockett. In that instance, I was happy with the play calling. I just felt a run would carry more risk. Remember, our Center, LG, and LT were all non-starters. And the end result was a 99 and 1/2 yard TD drive. That sounds, and Looked, good to me. If we still had the 8th ranked running game in the league, rather than the 18th, and had all our starters on the OL, perhaps a running play Might have been tried. But, let's face it, this year isn't last year.

I thought they both did well. Maybe just because I've seen more of Buck, but I was particularly impressed with West. I really think he ran the ball well. He seemed faster and more elusive than I was expecting, for some reason. I'm anxious to see what they do the rest of the way.
