Jerry Rosburg

With the way the Special Teams has played this season, don't be surprised if he's considered for a vacant head coach position this off-season.  Rosburg and Brooks are the best coaches on the Ravens, hands down!!

Remember the past few seasons when the idiots were saying Rosburg should be fired? Yeah, I do. Rosburg's unit is doing the best by far right now. We're killin' it on special teams.

They're definitely balling. BTW, I had no idea that we had a "kicking consultant" until they mentioned him last night.

Talk about a job where you make money to probably do nothing

Really? There have been several stories on him. I think he's the mayor of some town in New Jersey.

Definitely missed the stories.  I try to work sometimes.   :P

5 weeks in a row with a blocked kick? PR TD and blocked FG TD return last night?

Rosburg has his guys playing out of their minds. You can tell they truly believe they can block each and every kick.

We've won every single game this season on a special teams play. You could make the case that without them we'd be winless right now.

Yeah. You take the ball, see? You hold it and / or drop it before you contact it with a predetermined spot on your dominant kicking foot, see?

Where's my money?

Rosburg has those guys on special teams doing a great job. Special teams are the reason we won yesterday and they have kept us in many games.

Just googled NFL Special Teams rankings and went to Football Outsiders. We're currently ranked 2nd only behind NE.

In fact, we've had a top 3 Special Teams unit since 2012. Much kudos to Harbs and Rosburg.

I was just thinking about this last night after that win. The way our special teams has played is unbelievable, Koch and Tucker are one of the best at their positions, and hopefully Clay now takes over at returner to really elevate the special teams more.

Trestman and Pees aren't going to get any consideration anytime soon. So Rosburg could go from ST coach to Head Coach in the off-season like Harbaugh did when we hired him in 2008. I would hate it if he did go and be a HC but at the same time be happy for him because he's earned it.

While it is admirable that we are ranked so high and quite obviously contributes to winning games.  Does no one else feel this ranking is somewhat skewed? Considering since the Harbaugh era we have consistently brought in or retained, at cut time, ST specialists.  As well have also dressed guys who will never help the offense or defense, over guys who could, but are limited when it comes to ST, thereby possibly stunting some players growth.

I've been disappointed in the play of Tucker, but the rest of the unit has been absolutely killing it. The blocking is vastly underrated. Those returners are hitting open holes on almost every run

Special teams has honestly carried the team at times. There have been a few mishaps, but the sum is greater. Rosburg has done an excellent job..

Tucker doesn't want a ton of money and is trying to help the Ravens out by not giving his agent crazy ideas. Lol

I just hope the talk of him getting more money than Gostowski dies down

It'll be hard to justify that from the agent's end after this year. He's a great kicker imo, but he said it himself that our stadium is the toughest for him to kick. All his misses are here, yes?

One on the road this year was a miss, one last year, zero in 2013, and two on the road in 2012.

The thing is that with him saying that Baltimore is the toughest stadium to kick in, he's kinda hurting his case because he plays eight games a year in Baltimore and if in eight of those games, you really can't count on him consistently, you're not gonna get paid much.

Good info. Thanks for looking this up for me. I think he'll get paid but I doubt he'll break the bank.

I think he'll get top 5 kicker money, which is warranted, but I don't see him making that $4M+

But then again, this is the front office that made Dennis Pitta one of the top 10 highest paid tight ends after a major hip injury.

I still don't get that contract. I liked Pitta but I was scratching my head a bit although I was really happy to have him back. Rosburg also selected Tucker for us and played a big role in him coming here. Rosburg is probably our most underrated coach. Brooks is underrated but we give him a lot of credit as fans. I gotta say Jerry doesn't get the same attention from the fans.

Probably get the tag. Not too expensive to tag a kicker.

Gostowski had a cap hit of $4.69 BEFORE he signed to be the highest paid kicker in the league, so it's likely to be even higher than that.

So, yeah, it kinda really is expensive for a kicker.

The Pitta contract was way too rich for my liking and I really thought it should have only been one year. If the Ravens lost him, then fine. Sucks, but what ever.

Rosburg is doing a phenomenal job. I really love what he's been able to consistently do with the special teams, but this year is just something else.
